Who's going? What events will be running as qualifiers thursday, friday and saturday? What formats? I'll help set up,but I prefer not to make phone calls, but I can do just about everything else. In February last year, the formats were being voted on. What is being done this year?

Ditto here. I would give up valuable pieces of my anatomy to actually play some RD this year. I got classic decks built, REv 4 and AA formats already to go. Hell I might even be able to bring some peeps too.

I'll end up there for the weekend (90% sure) and Lurty I'll talk to you more for judgin' but at the least I'm going with me and 2 players....also one or 2 of the other plays have said they plan on going...so thats 5 more.

Consistent poon > Cards. RD cost me a Gf in the past and the only reason I don't regret that is we got back together.

Back on subject

lets also define Classic too. Classic will equal no rev 4 right?
Revo will be all cards with the Revolution logo?
The other formats will have rev 4?

atleast this will bring some new cards to the pool and shake up stuff.

Here's a "current" list of the formats:

All Axxess
Afterburn
Raw Deal Classic
Tornado Tag
~~Velocity~~
Virtual All Axxess (This is All Axxess including Revo 4, as Revo 4 was created with ALL previous sets in mind.)

Along with another possible format:
New Raw Deal (Using only the cards from Mr. Yuzyk's upcoming release, you guessed it, "New Raw Deal")

Also, if anyone would like to see any more formats represented, please post them here. Notice the aforementioned Velocity list is up for discussion, I can see us dropping it in favor of the Virtual format. Other than that, I enjoyed the format and schedule for GenCon 2008, and aside from a few substitutions of the formats, I don't see why the times should be any different...

Gotta run for now, more on this later (including an "Official Poll")

noone likes straight revo. you should put in some old cards. as for the "new raw deal" its stupid cause you cant use any cards that you spent huge amounts of money on. formats should just be afterburn [ no revo]X2 all axess [ no revo] aferburn [ with revo Not revo 4] all axess [ with revo not revo 4]X2 all axess [ with revo INCLUDEING revo 4] draft. rumble draft.

those are 9 perfect tornes for the 3 day 9 torne gen con weekend. it has at least 1 of every possible type of torne that people would love to play in and the ones that have X2 is cause afterburn was once the main tornement for months and cuts out all the cheese cards to have a great tornement and axess with revo 4 is cause well. new cards that you can play with old cards make it interesting. the "new" rawdeal sounds good and all but you cant play it with old cards and money goes to waste. and Strict revo well...need to say its the reason rawdeal died in the first place.

those are jsut my opinion but if people think different let it known here.

for worlds is it gonna be the day after the 3 day torne thing or a different date?

Draft isn't going to happen.

As far as Revolution, whether you've tried it or not, with Revo 1, 2 and 3 it's a good format. That statement "Noone likes straight revo." is blatantly false.

"New Raw Deal" is NOT stupid, as it really does not affect the cards you've already bought. There's also no money going to waste really, as NRD is printable from your home computer and has absolutely no effect on the aforementioned formats. Of course as far as NRD goes, it'll all depend on how soon its released and/or how close we are to having a playable set by the time GenCon gets here. It may still be a separate side tournament in and of itself.

Here's another kicker, the need for Velocity and/or Afterburn is not really an issue along with the advent of Revolution 4 (Which was designed to balance out the previous NPE's)

Afterburn is kind of in the same boat, the NPE's have been nuked/balanced out with Revo 4. But we'll get a poll up sometime tonight to find out what the majority of players want to play for the qualifiers.

Here's what the plan is for GenCon weekend is so far:

Thursday - 3 qualifiers
Friday - 3 qualifiers
Saturday - 3 qualifiers
Sunday - World Championships (Multi-format event similar to last year's)

Let's not. Revolution 4 (and possibly "NRD") are the only non-CI-created cards that will be allowed. There are topics and threads on this site that fully explain the reasoning behind it.

For now, let's keep it on the subject of "Official RDPC Formats" for the 9 qualifiers.

Oh, and the polls won't be up till Saturday night (I stayed out too late, and I'm way too sleepy!)
