NFL Showdown/Gametime

Hello Everybody!

I don't know how many people on here ever played these but in the early 2000s Wizards tried to break into the sports world with a card game for the MLB, NBA, and NFL. My friends and I LOVED the NFL one. It used a barcode scanning system, and the game ended up dying out after 3 sets. My friends and I loved it and ended up playing the game so much that we came up with house rules that greatly improved it, but since the game used a barcode system it made it difficult to relaunch........... .. or so we thought :).

If anyone is interested I have relaunched this game under the new name of NFL Gametime. The reason being, after adding in the rule changes, and swapping out the card scanning system for a dice roll system the game essentially was not the same game anymore, but a much better version. If anyone is interested and would like to take a look so far I have:

2018 Set Base set based off of the 2017 season https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jfEdJIDOUozRbSOHQxxtDlCpX9jv0_LL?usp=sharing
2019 expansion https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ZAABUjDfAxQIxDooh5NVN5A5gd7ErmDA?usp=sharing
2020 expansion https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fsaO8gv_ngW__C7D80KF3wUw8tE4ahl3?usp=sharing
2021 currently in development

Rulebook https://docs.google.com/document/d/1a0-Bq1FRMzyLlu0uJFgVoP4PzkOwf8vUM-ac4S1YdlA/edit?usp=sharing

Also during quarantine, I was able to create a lackey plugin for the game and a rulebook containing the revised rules.

Let me know if any of you are interested and I will be happy to post what I have created.

Hello,

I do remember this game, between my friends I had traded for every Raider I could get my hands on at the time.  Jerry Rice and Rich Gannon were an awesome pair in that game at the time.  We even had one guy who "seemed" to have modified a QB to have the best stat for the QB Sneak play.  We couldn't really prove him wrong either which was part of the fun.

I am interested in how you have changed the rules, maybe you have made it for the better.  Seems like a lot of work though for a very niche game.

Thanks for the effort.
