I'm posting this up because quite honestly, this is not only awesome, but pretty damn hilarious too. Plus, it happened 38 years ago on this day.

In 1970, Bill Baxley, the state Attorney General for Alabama, reopened the 16th Street Church bombing case. During his investigation, he got threatening letters from various people. One such letter was from Dr. Edward R. Fields, a high-ranking member of the KKK, who implied that Baxley would end up like Robert F. Kennedy. Baxley then decided to write back. The following is the full text from his letter (on official state letterhead!), dated February 26th, 1976.

QuoteDear "Dr." Fields,

I am writing this letter in response to your letter from February 19th, 1976.

Kiss my ass.

Bill Baxley
State of Alabama Attorney General

Epic pwnage? I'd say so.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH Cowbell I'd love to give right now, lol.

To both you and Bill Baxley
