Ladies and gentlemen,

I've gotten several PMs and emails requesting permission to take over designing NRD.

Though I have no problem with any one person or group who wants to run with NRD, I can't give official endorsement to anyone over anyone else.  There's simply no way for me to measure anyone's qualifications.

If you're interested, I recommend you form a group rather than strike out on your own.  This thread might be a convenient place to talk to each other, at which point maybe you should get access to the old NRD team's private forum?  Who knows.

I hope this happens as I really enjoy these cards and everything, one quick question, is the tournament set going to be available to download again, I am on a new laptop and all my stuff I had save on the old one was lost, just wandering thanks!

I would be willing to help out putting card images together. I enjoy making card graphics and have good capture devices (capture devices + the DVDs, good quality vids online and the WWE Network means we have any image we need pretty much as long as its out there) that I would have no problem putting good card images together. Thing is I don't enjoy coming up with card effects as much. I usually make images but they have blank text. Nor do I have a playgroup to play test with. Just me and a couple of friends who enjoy playing every once in a while. But I will throw it out there that if people step up and come up with good expansions I am offering to do the graphic versions and help where I can.

I enjoy Raw Deal a lot but me and my friends have sold most of our stuff so New Raw Deal is the alternative, just without new sets its lost its appeal.

I already have a lot of cards designed, if anyone is wanting to playtest I can give them access to the Google Drive folder I have set up for them.

But for playtest purposes you will have to deal with everything done using Magic Set Editor :-P

You should message Creed or Antigoth.  Although rather than getting access to the old forums, you should ask for a new private forum instead.

There was one, once upon a time.  Someone was maintaining it.  You'll have to look around the forums a bit, but it's probably there somewhere.

Just to chime in with follow-ups...

After a long period of inactivity, the NRD private forum was removed.  But if there's enough interest, we can make a new one.

No information on the Lackey patch, I could get someone started on the data entry part of it, but I'm not familiar with the rest of making a new Lackey patch (I just build on the existing Raw Deal patch, heh)

I should note as an additional challenge for anyone who's picking up the game:

NRD2-4 wasn't balanced prior to release.  I released it under the premise that it would be entering a balancing phase, but then never had time to actually do it.

So be aware that you might wanna either ban it or reassess its viability.

I started working on some templates when I got home from work.
I decided to re-style them as I keep coming to the thought "Well New Raw Deal is its own game, it should stand out from Classic Raw Deal in appearance.". I will post some samples when I finish and people can tell me what they think should be changed.

Oh also Bryson, I know templates are out of the question, but any chance I can get superstar logos off of you?

Also here is what the superstar card template looks like so far (also if anyone prefers classic Kane over bald Kane, here you go. Have a face lift.).
Any suggestions? I keep thinking the HS/SSV shield is to big.

Yes, that set.  Whereas NRD 2-1, 2-2 and 2-3 went through a balancing process and turned out pretty well, I was pressured into releasing NRD 2-4 BEFORE any balance was done.  Supposedly the idea was that once it was in peoples' hands, they would balance it and I would fix and repost the balanced version.  But it never happened.  My local group did a lot of good balancing work on NRD2-4, but I got too busy with work to keep up with the game and sadly it just fell apart.

Most of the set is probably fine, but some of the characters need balancing.  I would say Macho Man, Rock and Money Inc need attention, if I recall the notes correctly.

I don't think that's necessary.  The first three waves of Set 2 are fine, as discussed above; It's primarily wave 4 that's the issue.  And even then, most of wave 4 is fine, it's just a few specific champions.

Unfortunately no.  They're on my old hard drive, which is in storage.
