i was thinking to build a new raw deal cube draft. if u guys don't know the cube draft go to http://www.cubedrafting.com/what-is-the-cube/ for more info. im guessing to put in 360 cards or more. but i do have the house rule if a cards has a superstar logo like rko for randy orton ignore it and everyone can use it

tl;dr - er, watch.

"Here's an hour-long video explaining it" - no thanks, lol, that's what text is for.  ;)

I'd be more interested if there was a better explanation.

Based on what I read, in Magic, you take the best 50 to 70 cards of each colour and shuffle all the cards together. You then separate all the cards into groups of 15 and draft from those.

Obviously, the procedure would have to be modified to work in Raw Deal.

Current decks: HHH. LAISE. BFM. Al Snow. Andre. Cactus Jack. Chris Jericho. X-Treme Diva.

We had 20 set cards (reversals - step, escape) that everyone started with. Then you draft starters (SS + 3 Specifics) then we chose a Superstar from which we had drafted, then we drafted 5 packs of 10 random cards each (From a stack of 1 single copy of every Raw Deal card). Then built a deck.

It took about an hour to set up, 10 minutes to play each game (with 4-6 friends), then 30 minutes to re-sort everything....BUT it's a heck of a lot of fun!!

nice. i hope i can modify this for new raw deal

I'd be happy if we could have more people playing normal New Raw Deal.  More people seem to be popping up, so speak up if you are, not to mention post decks, etc.  The more activity there is, the more people that may try it or try it again.

Cube Fav way to play Magic, if there was a good way to translate that into RD I would love it! will get the wheels turning on this one!

I have my own MTG Cube, and I'd be very interested in using this as a template for starting a Raw Deal Cube.

Do you remember what the 20 set cards were? The only "staple" reversals that would come to mind are Step, Escape, Break, Elbow, and Clumsy. Even Over Sell and No Sell aren't necessarily staple, since they're more-or-less superstar specifics. Help me out?

Action reversals, Volley This!, There Are Two Things You Can Do: Nothing, and Like It, No Chance in Hell!, that sort of thing.

I was trying to compile a list of available reversals, but it looks like the well dries up too quickly, so having 2x certain cards may be essential. 2 of each Step, Escape, and Break seems fine, but 2 Elbows and/or Clumsys may be a bit much. I'm also trying to not include rare reversals as "staples" (DTTAH, No Chance), and same with any that have alignment (Manager, JBI, Pet Coon, Great to Be Back). Two Things and Volley This are both good, though, as is Hold the Phone. Even Spot Adjustment is considerable, due to being good albeit heavily situational.

I'm definitely taking this into the lab. If all goes and tests well, I might even bring this to GenCon!

awesome im well im doing the new raw deal cube. with my own rule in cube is superstar specifics and style specifics on the cards such as break the hold, pedigree, perfect plex, etc. can be used by any superstar but u still have to pack which style cards your gonna use. so it can have some crazy interactions.

this sounds like it could be fun
