Virtual Deck Reviews / Carlito & Primo Colon (V5-V6)
December 02, 2022, 02:38:55 PM
Smackdown / Face / Cheater

First, note that this is only using cards through V6.  When we get to V11 I will probably change quite a bit with their additional support.  This is cheater, but really only for Blatant Chokehold and I Know Cool.. can easily change to FF. The deck has worked well so far in the 5 games its played but want to see how I can fine tune it.

Backstage Area:
1x Backstage Signing Appearance (+1)
1x 5th Anniversary
1x Carlito's Apple
1x First Unified Champions
1x Primo Makes the Save

No backstage signature because that works against the first unified champions card.

Pre-Match: (12)
1x Tag Team Title Belts*
1x New York, New York
1x Champ is Here*
1x Premiere Smackdown*
1x Backed by Vickie*
1x Banned from Ringside*
1x Find Out How to Fight from Finlay*
1x Carlito's Cabana*
1x Second Generation Caribbean Cool*
1x High-Flying Style*
1x Playing by the Rules TB*
1x Distractingly Divalicious

Generally play all with the asterisk and decide between NY, NY or Distractingly.  Usually play NY vs. lower superstars to knock them out of underrated range and add 6 more to cumulative SSV for the unified champions backstage card. Distractingly to kill NWO Poison and/or rip a card out of their hand with the apple. I'd like to squeeze in Making Your Escape.  Not sold on high-flying style in this one.

Mid-Match: (12)
1x That's Not Cool
1x Classic Teamwork
1x Cow on Ice
1x Restricted Use
1x Reach Exceeds Your Grasp
1x Perfectly Executed Tope
1x Shoot Counter
1x Fortitude Surge
1x Old School Brawl
1x Road to Victory
1x Sustained Damage
1x For the Love

Lots of red, just trying to cover bases.

Maneuvers: (21)
3x Face Stretch
3x Key Lock
2x Full Nelson Slam TB
2x Running Clothesline TB
2x Diving Bulldog
1x Shoot Lock-Up
1x Blatant Chokehold
1x Maneuver of Doom
1x X-Treme Dive Over the Ropes
1x The Finisher
1x The Backstabber
1x Primo's Flying Body Press
1x Carlito's Way DDT
1x Dynamic Finisher

Chose Face Stretch and Full Nelson Slam TB as the base maneuvers because they can be 0D and 4D respectively which makes using my ability not hurt as bad if I need to use it to get on the board. Standard smackdown maneuvers with lots of TMFs.

Actions: (8)
3x Shoot Action
2x Ego Boost
1x Ref Takes a Bump
1x I Spit in the Face Of..
1x People Who Don't Want to be Cool

Love ref takes a bump with backed by vickie to help maneuvers stick. Not much else going on here.

Reversals: (31)
3x A Revolution of the Mind
3x Volley This!
3x Sloppy... Very Sloppy
3x Once is Enough
2x Elbow to the Face
2x Get the F Out
2x Sidewalk Slam TB
2x Don't Try This at Home
1x Keeping Your Caribbean Cool
1x Out of Nowhere
1x Don't be a Douchebag
1x I Know Cool... You're Not Cool
1x Divine
1x Carlito Says That's Not Cool
1x Total Teamwork
1x Back Throw
1x Raw Deal Revolution
1x I Change the Questions
1x You Missed Your Chance

A little more action reversal light because of the mid-match support.

Is there an archive of the old forum posts from 2004/2005 anywhere?
Rules Forum / Rene Dupree Question

Can Rene Dupree pack original versions and throwback versions of the same card?  For example, can Rene pack a Fans Love an Underdog and the throwback version?
Rules Forum / Pre-Match Resolution

Quick question regarding pre-match resolution..

Player A has a SSV of 4, Player B has a SSV of 3.

Player A started the pre-match phase, but Player B belts up to a higher number, say 6.

Does the pre-match resolution look at SSV or is SSV only looked at again once the game starts?  Would Player A still resolve first as they were the first to play pre-match?
From the FAQ:

Eye Rake
-This gives an irreversibility bonus only if played from Hand. Overturning this card has no extra effects.
-If played as a single reversal to a Multi, the irreversible effect will carry over until the start of the Rake player's turn.
