Yep, that sure is Crosby.

So... I went 1 for 4, and my heart is broken with little to care about left in the playoffs.

I strongly dislike Detroit, but still suspect they will top Chicago. (Head says wings, Heart says Hawks.)

Head says Birds, Heart says Canes.

Bah...

If the Wings win it's either a rematch from 08 or 02.

Hm. Now I can't see it. Though that may be because I'm on a different computer and using Internet Explorer, whereas I use Firefox on mine.

It also could be one's anti-virus software or firewall. I just remembered that one time, a firewall I was using prevented me from seeing certain images for whatever reason.

I have to agree here.  Can't see Carolina topping Pittsburgh, although, despite what the board said yesterday, I can imagine Chicago giving Detroit trouble in the next few games, but inexperience will prove out.

I can still see mine, but Antigoth's for some reason I can't now.

I'm just hoping we don't get a rematch of last year, since Detroit's kinda boring and I can't stand Sid the Holy Diver. Sadly, I think we're gonna get just that.

I'll still watch though.

Wow, a week goes by with nothing.

Well, I'm looking pretty good right now picking Wings in 5, but I MAY have overestimated Carolina by giving them 2 wins... they seem to be self-destructing.

I think it was a great decision by Detroit to pull Osgood from Sunday's game to keep him out of harm's way in that blowout.

And now conspiracy-theorists have something to chew on...

Does the NHL want the Pens to win because "Crosby is the face of our sport"??? They sure didn't do Detroit any favors by scheduling Games 1&2 on back-to-back nights.

Not that I'm personally complaining, mind you.  ;)

I personally don't believe in conspiracy theories in sports, mainly because if there were rigged games, the most popular teams would almost always win the championships. No way the Anaheim Ducks would've won the Stanley Cup two years ago. Or the Carolina Hurricanes for that matter.

This is lose-lose to me, because I dislike the Red Wings (the NHL's version of the San Antonio Spurs) just as much as Sid Crosby.

If this is the NHL's way to promote Hockey by letting the Pittsburgh Penguins win the Stanley Cup because Sydney "Cry Baby" Crosby is the face of the NHL is a load of bull crap. The penguins were good but they are not that good. if anything i think that teams like Washington and Philadelphia just got completely screwed out of the playoffs because almost everyone seems to love Crosby. Well I don't. I think he needs to learn the game of hockey before he can consider himself a champion.

Again, I don't believe the major sports leagues rig the games at all. If the NHL did rig the games, we wouldn't have gotten to 16 years without a Canadian team winning the Cup. The Pens earned their wins. Blame the Flyers for blowing a Game 6 third period lead at home. Blame Washington for having their worst game be Game 7. THE NHL DOES NOT RIG GAMES. PERIOD.

Not everyone loves Crosby. There are many anti-Crosby hockey fans. I even know a couple Penguins fans who can't stand the kid. Their criticisms are all the same: they feel he's a whiner, a diver, a loudmouth, and a junk punch artist. I can appreciate Crosby's talent, but I can also dislike his attitude and tactics, which I do very much.

PS. That line about the NHL rigging the playoffs for a Canadian team isn't meant as a shot. Just as what I think would be an accurate example. I did also mention in my previous post that teams like Anaheim or Carolina wouldn't have EVER come near winning the Cup.

Anaheim and Carolina are two markets the NHL has been driving to expand in for a long time. Those are exactly the teams they would push if they were rigging it. With that said though I don't think they are, but I do feel that just like in the NBA that refs are influencing the outcomes of games for their own profit.

I don't believe in that either. A bad call's influence I believe is minimal, as often the team that is on the bad end of a call either made too many mistakes or failed to accomplish something to finish the game. Game 3 of Nuggets/Mavericks this year is a prime example. Don't blame the refs not calling a foul at the end. Blame the Mavs player attempting to foul Carmelo Anthony for letting up on the play and Dirk Nowitzki missing his last five shots. If Nowitzki had made one of those shots, the Mavs would've won.

See your argument is one that pisses me off to no end. You basically say that it's ok for referees to make bad calls, because the team on the other end didn't play perfectly the rest of the game. That's not the point. The point is that the referees should make the proper call and not blatantly make poor calls to change the game.
