No Escape from the SYCHO - Heel/Cheater Sid Deck
« on: May 27, 2020, 07:30:29 PM »

Turns out the deck did rather well.  4-2 overall in the recent OCTGN tournament.  Defeated Yokozuna, Johnny Gargano, Braun Strowman, and BFM.  Lost to BFM and Pete Dunne.

Every game except Gargano was a grinder game - you work your way up the maneuver latter by hook (Maneuvers landing) or crook (Fortitude reduction).  No Escape closes off some options of reversing to them - most importantly the BL deck, and with Sid's ability to semi-scramble the hand, it makes redwalling him harder.  From Wherever He Pleases + Sycho Choke Slam are your recovery.  The Gargano matchup was just an old school Raw Deal game - I had the reversals, he didn't.  The two losses - the BFM deck was probably a better grinder deck, but I split on one of the flukier endings to a Raw Deal game I have ever seen.  The Dunne match, he was able to out-value me in a long (2.5 hour) game.

Post-tournament - the only obvious cuts for me are Escape the Rules and Pencil-Necked Geek.  Neither saw any use.  The rest is debatable - heavily thinking about removing One! and On-One Arena too, but not sure what I'd add there.   I'd like a TB Sucker Punch and an Eat Your Words in the deck in the future, but not sure what I'd remove for them.

Happy to hear any suggestions or ways to make the deck better.
