The most heated debate ever
« on: June 27, 2018, 08:23:22 AM »
Ladies and gentleman of TCO, I beg of you to answer this one question that Dizzy and I argued about for over a hour last night:

Are Funyuns chips?

Yes, they are sold in the chip aisle and yes they are sold in a bag. I say NO, they are NOT chips.

I'm the wind, baby.

No.  Pretzels are also sold in the 'Snack' section, next to the chips, but they are also not chips.

No, Funyuns are not chips. Says right on the bag they aren’t.

But this is not close to the most heated debate on a question ever. I’ve seen the following questions get more contentious on the interwebs:

-What’s better in a fight? A knife or a baseball bat?
-Hot dog: Sandwich or not-Sandwich?

Edit: Stole my line Eric. And no, it isn’t.
Ceterum censeo Chelsea delendam esse.

Don't let this signature distract you from the fact that Dele Alli has 29 more PL goals than Jack Wilshere.

But is a hotdog a sandwich?

Stop it...dont start that...but I guess since you insist, based on the definition (and how I eat my hot dogs), NO

SANDWICH:
an item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with meat, cheese, or other filling between them, eaten as a light meal.

I eat my hot dog on a bun which is ONE piece of bread that does not allow it to qualify as a sandwich

I'd say a knife is better in a fight, because it's easier to put away in my pocket and keep my hands free.  Alternately, stick it in my pocket, and take off my belt to use.  Baseball bat lying around could be used against me.

1.  Funyuns are not chips.
2.  A Hot Dog is not a sandwich
3.  Egg came first.
4.  PC, preferably a Linux OS (I can accept Open SUSE).  Avoid any Apple products at all costs.
5.  Gatoraide; Poweraide is too thick when the body isn't 100%
6.  Between a Bat and a Knife, it depends on the damage you want to do.  If you're not looking to drop a m**********r dead but want him to have some permanant damage, go with the Bat (seriously, it can break bones long before the bat will snap); on the other hand, if you want a quick kill, knife.
7.  DC Comics, Marvel Movies.

A hot dog is totally a sandwich. It's meat sandwiched between bread. The fact that the bread has a hinge doesn't matter. Half the time the buns splits anyway.

-What’s better in a fight? A knife or a baseball bat?

I would take the baseball bat nine times out of ten. The tenth time is when I know that I am going to begin the fight directly on top of my opponent (probably because they've grabbed me) and I can use the knife to take a quick slash at their eyeline and get blood in their eyes. Otherwise, the superior reach of the bat is going to allow me to keep the knife-user from ever being able to actually touch me with the knife.

And if your response is, "But I can just cut your bat with my knife!", then I suggest that you try to cut a bat while it's being swung at you. Preferably while wearing body armor so the knife doesn't cut your arm when it gets knocked out of your (now-numb) hand.
