Define irony.

Previously we complained that the title match wasn't the main event, as Punk defended earlier in the night before Rock/Cena went on last.

Now people are hoping the title match is NOT the main event, and instead a match with basically nothing at stake.  If that doesn't point out how bad the booking in WWE (mostly on Raw) is right now...

CREED

The problem is that Vince wants the wrong title match to be the main event. Bray v. Orton should go on last; it's still a top belt in the company, it's going to be a better match, and unlike Raw's cluster, it's going to involve people who are likely to be with the company in 2018. Certainly, show respect to the belt, but also show respect to your full time workers and to the intelligence of your audience.

It doesn't matter to me, I'm not watching any of it, just an amusing observation.  :)

So I'm wondering if we should get on Lackey or something where a lot of TCO guys can talk together and just riff-track the event live.
Certainly it would help us all endure the upcoming pain.

I'm completely UNconcerned about it, heh.  It's just a mess, as they spent so much time working toward these matches, rather than letting things go in an organic direction.  It's that 'Roman Reigns' thinking, "we know what you want" and ignoring what people are actually interested in.

For a while things got better (Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Zack Ryder) but unfortunately they fall back to their old playbook again...

Me, I'm just happy they course-corrected and moved the SD Women's Title match to the event proper.

I'll be watching tomorrow. With alcohol. Because oh god why.

This is my first Wrestlemania since 26. I don't know all of the talent, but I do know that it has been on my tv for 4 1/2 hours with three matches left to go. This is waaaaaaaaay too long. I quit watching Raw years ago because it went from 2 to 3 hours, WWE has lost my attention.

Yeah, 7 hours was overkill. Add in the super somber ending and it was just horrifically paced.

Yeah, that was kinda painful. Wrestlemania is getting too damn long. Four hours is about right; 7 is insanity.

Quick thoughts: Neville/Aries was a great match, and I definitely want more of this feud, which is why I'm glad Neville retained.

Shane/AJ was very good. Not as good as AJ vs. an actual wrestler who could keep up with him might have been, but very good. When your money player is in a feud with a 45 year old businessman who's being built up as a more legitimate threat than multi-time world champion wrestlers, I don't care how good the match is, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

Anyone looking at the card would have told you Owens/Jericho would be the match of the night. It was. No surprises here, just damn good content.

DELETE. That is all.

Rollins/HHH was good, IMO, though it should have been great, and seems to be a bit of a base breaker online. They oversold a few things, but by and large, everyone looked good.

The crowd was completely gassed for Wyatt/Orton, and then they tried to be weird instead of good. And then they took the belt off of Bray, which blew chunks.

The rest of the card did not live up to what it could have been. I don't think anyone would have minded if they cut most of the other crap in favor of better matches.

The Reigns/Undertaker match is the entire reason Brock should never have broken the streak. This match should have been for the streak AND Taker's career, which would have given it the weight it deserved. As it stands, it felt more inevitable than it should, because Taker had already lost the aura of invincibility at Mania. It just looked like Roman was picking up the pieces of what Brock had already destroyed, and he didn't even do that well.

Can we kill the superman punch, though? Seriously, it's a punch with no force behind it. It's sloppy, ineffective, and they make people sell it like he's hitting them with an anvil. I'd far rather his finisher be a legit punch: feet planted, turning his hips into the shot, square to the jaw, doing all the things that maximize the value of the punch. Not just "I jump, flail about, and wave my hand at your chin."

Now I think it's just about time to go back to Lucha Underground. Striker and Vampiro are the drizzling brown sauce together, but it's amazing how much more compelling a show gets when the main villain is a professional actor, rather than the guy who books the matches.

I disagree the rest of the card wasn't great - The only bummers were the World Title matches and Reigns still trying to come across as a good guy when he was literally beating an old man to death.

I will say I was a MASSIVE fan of them no side skits. We got straight wrestling albeit for 7 hours, still was refreshing to see.

That's completely opposite of what I like to see. I love the guys that are good on the mic, give me an old fashioned promo over two guys with out personality wrestling each other any day.
