Worst PPV in Wrestling History
« on: February 27, 2017, 07:05:08 AM »
So I got bored this morning after getting some packing done. I decided to hop on the WWE Network. I normally loved WCW Uncensored, I noticed there was one I hadn't seen yet. The one with the Doomsday cage match. I would explain what matches there were, however this is such a train wreck I just can't put into words how bad this is.

Only one title match, and didn't push the incoming new talent
like was needed.

Funny thing, this was PRE nWo. Main event was 8 vs 2 cage match. Well 7 vs 2 because Pillman didn't end up working the match. This made the end of WCW look like gold.

the death of wwECW on PPV was the one Elimination Chamber where half the guys were pinned before the last guy came out....RVD was jobbed out in like 5 minutes and the crowd had a Roman Reigns level mutiny  :o

WCW Souled Out - the first one.

That show just leaves a sour taste in my mouth every time I remember it.

Mind you, I didn't watch December to Dismember (Network will solve that), but I still remember watching that show live and thinking "eff me I just paid $30 for this pile of rubbish?"

Sadly, I watched that Uncensored live back in the day.  It had some neat, creative ideas on paper, but MAN it fell flat in the execution, haha.

Thankfully I didn't watch December to Dismember, don't intend to either.

Any PPV that includes Reigns winning a belt?? Haha jk, but Ive wanted for awhile to re-watch WCW towards the end since I was a little younger then (11-12 yo) so I may be misremembering things...

It may not be on the Network, but look up the Heroes of Wrestling event.  Between Jake Roberts' infamous drunken, rambling promo (this is the one that Maffew uses for the Botchamania intro), the complete mess that is Bushwakers vs. Iron Sheik and Volkoff (remember, this was in 1999), and Tully f'n Blanchard not knowing his match is suppose to work; this is a complete s**t-storm of an event.
Widely regarded as the WORST event of all time, it is truly something that if WWE can, should put on the network simply to show people how bad it can get.

For me, Great American Bash 2000, with a Best of 5 Tables match between the Wall and Shane Douglas that the announcers do not know the rules for and discuss that on air.

Mike Awesome vs DDP in an ambulance match that ends with an incredibly predictable yet completely nonsensical swerve.

Sting vs Vampiro in the Human Inferno match.....

The card had so many gimmick matches that it looks like an Uncensored on paper.  Yup 7 gimmick matches including TWO special guest referee matches.

I agree that many of the others on this list sound terrible, but I haven't seen most of them.

With the exception of Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt which was excellent, the Royal Rumble 2014 was pretty terrible. Only 3 or 4 matches, one of which was a squash between Big Show and Lesnar that wasn't technically a match. Orton vs Cena v 2,000,000,000, and then Bluetista winning the Rumble. It was hot garbage.
