NBA Trade Deadline
« on: February 22, 2017, 03:55:22 PM »
As we approach the deadline, there is a ton of teams trying to get that final piece. Celtics could easily be a championship contender if they land Paul George or Melo. Pacers have sadly changed their tune on trading George. Celtics sit with the best offer. Anyone else have thoughts on what may happen?

I have about as much faith in the Knicks getting this right as they have earned.  In short, not much.

Rubio's injury history scares me, but with Melo and KP on the roster he could be a 9-10 APG kind of guy when he plays.  But if it's Rubio for Rose straight-up or Rose for Rubio and other things, then sure, his contract isn't too onerous.

The untouchables on this Knicks team:
1) KP - you could count the number of people in the league I'd trade KP for on two hands.  Maybe.
2) First round pick(s) - need to restock somehow, and FA isn't getting it done right now.

Then there's a big gap before...
3) Willy Hermangomez

...and everyone else on the roster is on the table if the offer's good enough.

I'm not hearing anything about Paul George but that makes a ton of sense for Boston and maybe Indy if the offer is right. I'm a Knicks fan too, and I'm hopeful that New York will at least move Rose for Rubio because that's a talent upgrade and Rubio's contract isn't bad for a stop-gap. I'd like to see Rose for Rubio/a pick or Rubio/Mohammed, but I'd make the trade straight-up also.

In a perfect world the Knicks also move O'Quinn for a first and a Melo deal comes through with some level of return, but I doubt Melo is going anywhere.

Wow Philly - Anderson, a buyout candidate in Bogut, and 2 2nd's?  That's awful, unless they swing Bogut in a trade to a 3rd team.

All reports at the moment are that we have no second deal, and we're buying Bogut out.
