Thanks for the helpful response Crasher.

I'm not looking to use virtual at the moment, so I'm not worried about that side of it - I will take a look at Lackey though!

If anyone could share the database, it would still be appreciated.  I've been trying to find a working link for a few days, so I'm curious as much as anything  :D

The best active (and updated) database is lackey, the one one on the yahoo group doesn't have any of the virtual cards in it, once you get used to lackey it really is an INVALUABLE resource!

This is not true. It contains everything, including Virtual. However, it does not work on 64-bit OS.

Thanks VelaCards for the info.

Would you be able to share the database in some way please?

Join the SoCal RawDeal Yahoo group and it's free to download. =)

Ah ok - I thought the group wasn’t being actively managed anymore.  I’ll register on Yahoo tomorrow and request to join. Thanks!

I'm still the administrator and from time to time, someone requests to join - mainly for the db - but yeah, for the most part it's a dead forum. Would like to have the db that is there, hosted elsewhere, but until we can get that to happen, it will be there.

Thanks,
VC

Thanks VC for accepting my request - I've now been able to download the database.

I was able to get things running on Windows 7 64-bit after a bit of trial and error.  Here are the steps I took in case it helps anyone else:
  • Installed Windows Virtual PC.
  • Created a new virtual machine.
  • Installed an old copy of Windows XP 32-bit.
  • Updated XP to Service Pack 3.
  • Installed .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1.
  • Ran the .exe as administrator within the virtual machine.

This database will be a very handy resource.  Just the underlying Access database file alone is really useful once you get familiar with creating queries (you do need Access installed, but on the plus side it avoids the 64-bit problem).

I've also taken a look at Lackey with the Raw Deal plugin - this looks really useful as well.  I must admit it is nice having the pictures!

I can see that a huge amount of hours went into both of these - my gratitude goes to those who completed the work.  Thank you also to VC and Crasher for pointing me towards these tools.
