This should be fixed now, along with the errant 'Permanent' on Burn It Down's card image.

Edit part 2.... Okay I found them!!!! sorry about that....

They are not on the v9new1 and v9new2 files....that is where I went wrong.

Yeah, they weren't new, they were released with V9A.  Glad it worked out for you.

Virtual Raw Deal / The B-Sides: V9B Released!
« on: July 31, 2019, 10:03:37 PM »
Yeesh, that took forever.... haha.  Well, here it is, the end of an era, leading to a new one.  Virtual 9 is finally wrapped up, though with a lighter volume than originally anticipated.

But we wanted to wrap things up and move on, so a lot of the 'missing' Superstar support that wasn't finished (Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns, Ambrose farewell card, The Bar) will show up down the road.  Some things were ready because they were planned from the start (Jinder's cards, for example) or because they were 'shiny objects' that drew everyone's attention (Becky's I Am The Man or the new Club card).  It'd be great if there were more than 40 new cards, sorry about that.  It should be better in the future.

So here's the link to the full Virtual 9 set list, and the files are all in place and Ready for Downloading.  As noted elsewhere, the Lackey patch has been updated, and <surprise!> I've already loaded the Superstar Guides, so let me know if I missed anything.  (Flickr will get updated soon, probably in the next 24 hours, for anyone who still cares about it, haha)

And here we are.  Enjoy, have fun with the new cards, and revel in the fact that Eric and his team are already cooking up new Superstars for Virtual 10.  :)

It should, though... don't hold your breath on seeing anything Benoit related, sorry.

Meanwhile, isn't it NXT tonight?  Nothing on hand for the current roster, but we do have this shiny object available:

Fantasy Cards / Re: Updated HHH Proxies
« on: July 31, 2019, 04:02:10 PM »
These are some great highlights, but I'm concerned that loading and reloading this many graphics with all the pageviews will cut heavily into our bandwidth allotments for the month.

It would be better to have a link and maybe one or two samples posted, rather than trying to post entire sets on the forum.  Just enough to get people's attention, and give them the link to where they can find more if they are interested.

Win/win, right?  :)

Oh yeah, Smackdown's on.  Say, remember when these guys were terrorizing the tag team division on Smackdown?

This was the first use of an idea to thematically have a tag team without waiting for a spot to make a whole new Superstar.  Eric can decide how this is executed going forward, but there's some sketched-out ideas for a couple more down the road.  There are a few more support cards, with some benefits for being part of the team, and some perks to help prop up Rowan a little better.

(And yes, one of the other teams discussed for this was The Bar, but we didn't get it nailed down in time, sadly...)

For what it's worth, noting Buddha's advice from the other deck list, having a general idea of what you want to do in Pre-match, basic strategy notes, etc. would probably help get more feedback.

Please do not, it is against the rules of the site.  Thank you.

Oversight, we haven't made many of this hybrid type in the past.  It'll be fixed before release, thanks.

Hey, speaking of 'time' - isn't it time for Monday Night Raw?  Or is that... Monday Night Rollins!

I also suggested a while back a "Sheet of Shenanigans" of some sort just to put everything on a page and then no need for all the backstage.
I made a text document of that a while back, not sure where it is or was though, heh.

Also, most of this post hinges on the inaccuracy that there are 'rules based' changes on the Shenanigans cards, which is not correct.  They shift the game away from NPEs, and while they may seem a bit much to players not familiar with them, regular play results in their general disregard.

Note that play in the NXT format incorporates all of these changes, but requires using the special 'Errata' versions of the cards instead (thankfully, free to download for anyone).  There is a single reference card instead, showing what cards are banned for that format, and which cards have errata versions, along with the rules changes for the format.

Perhaps that would suit you better, but it's unlikely after 12 years the development team would 'reinvent the wheel' when this has been working so far, and saves trying to reference information on a website or in print.  It's all right there in case it needs to be reviewed, but 99% of the time just sits in a stack under the Superstar card minding its own business.  :)

Classic Raw Deal / Re: Best and worst world champion cards
« on: July 17, 2019, 07:29:53 AM »
Funny story, I found that whenever Road to Victory was packed, I didn't use it.  But whenever it wasn't, inevitably I ran into something that made me wish it was.  Cut to ACMT 2017, Buddha played a non-Unique action, and I laugh and note this trivia bit, and brag that I finally get to play RtV for a change.

Nope, he's got the Spirit Squad Pre-match out, RtV is blank.  :D  Figures!

By the way, I asked Chad several times what he was interested in for a championship card idea, and he never got back to me. <shrug>

Thank you all for the kinds words, it's much appreciated!  It's really the only form of payment I can receive (well, that and donations to keep TCO online, haha).

Good news, we're finally wrapping up the back end of Virtual 9 (at long last) though I'd recommend setting the expectations low.  There were plans to have more support cards, some are conspicuous by their absence (Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns) but weren't quite finished.  Rather than wait even longer, we're going to push out what's ready, and the rest will hold until Virtual 10.

Better to get things moving for now, with a greater reward in line for the first set of the Eric RD Era, heh.

I think swapping cards out of your tournament deck to play side games is idiotic, just use proxies in side games!

That said, it was dumb but probably accidental, and it's very possible his deck was legal when he started.  A single loss seems the right call IMO.

Ouch, I thought you said you weren't old?  :D

Grats on leveling up, dude, keep being awesome!

Confirming that, much like the original poster, this card JUST MADE THE LIST!  :P

We've got this tagged and when we wrap up V9B and get it out, it will come with a handful of fixes and error corrections for V9A.

Classic Raw Deal / Re: Superstar Strategy Session #13: Tazz
« on: July 04, 2019, 12:06:18 PM »
Random tech I used to like, back in the day, with WWE Commentators... name the other brand from what you're packing (in this case, Raw, since Tazz has an SD Pre-match), for use with this:

Get Off My Program!
Mid-match Action / Reversal: Special
As an action, this card is -10F, discard this card and draw 1 card.
As a reversal, can only be played if you and your opponent both have a card in your Ring areas with the Raw logo or both have a card in your Ring areas with the Smackdown logo. Reverse any card if it is not the first card played this turn and end your opponent's turn.
F: 10     D: 0     Unique

Might not be as useful now with fewer cards having brands, but you never know... :)

Virtual Raw Deal / Time for a Change
« on: June 30, 2019, 10:20:25 PM »
Over the last 12 years, I've had some weeks or months where I lost interest in Raw Deal, then found it again.  However, with college and moving, and dealing with some other personal issues, that desire just hasn't been coming back.  There is still some interest in keeping Virtual going, though, and it seems the person who is most actively working to keep the game alive is Eric RD.

We've talked in the past about it, and I've decided that my lack of interest means I'm no longer the right guy to run this crazy project of ours.  So I've talked to Eric, and he's going to take the lead of Virtual Raw Deal now.  I will, of course, still be around.  We're already discussing how to get Virtual 9B finished up and released, and what comes next to work on getting new content developed, playtested, and released.

Beginning with Virtual 10, Eric will be handling things, with some 'new blood' assisting in development.  He can provide more detail, but his plan is smaller sets more often, which will likely be well-received by the players, I suspect.

I'll still be around, just more as a navigator than a pilot.  Here's to Raw Deal living on!  <raises a toast>

Updates include:
* All reported errors corrected.
* Another 100 images for Classic cards added, thanks again, Mitch!
* Also, Mitch has engineered some game function additions, such as moving a random card to Arsenal, and enabling the Promo function on the right-click menu. Great work!

NOTE: This will be my last Lackey update, EricRD will be taking this over.  Go easy on him!
