Rules Forum / Enquiry on <R> Death Defying Maniac
« on: November 15, 2015, 09:09:50 AM »
Hi, would like to clarify on the above mentioned card.

Original text:
Death-Defying Maniac
Reversal: Card
Requirement: “Revolution ECW® Originals” Faction in your Ring.
If this card is overturned during your opponent's turn, you may discard 1 Reversal: put this card into your Ring and if you have 3 or more Superstar-specifics from “ECW Originals” Faction Members and/or cards with “ECW Originals” in the text in your Ring, put up to 1 Pre-match Event from his Ring into his Ringside and end his turn. If the card or effect is not reversed, resume overturning.
Unique
F:0 D:0

However, under the ERRATAs issued:
<Revolution> Death-Defying Maniac
ERRATA: After the Requirement text, this card now reads: "If this card reverses from Arsenal: put this card into your Ring and if you have 3 or more Superstar-specifics from "ECW Originals" Faction Members and/or cards with "ECW Originals" in the text in your Ring, you may discard 1 Reversal: put up to 1 Pre-match Event from his Ring into his Ringside and end his turn."

From the text, it just says ERRATA. But in the card form, it says Throwback.

Therefore, I would like to enquire if the ERRATA is in effect and compulsory to adhere to, or is it optional because usually cards with Errata are labelled with ERRATA rather than Throwback as seen in the from the cards like Not According To Fine Print. In simpler terms, can I play the NON-TB version of the card since it is optional, or the errata makes it compulsory to only play the TB version of the card.

Thanks in advance!

Tournament Reports / Re: SG one for the money tournament 2015
« on: November 12, 2015, 07:38:32 PM »
Personal Report

Overall the tourney was fun. Glad to see Joewi but would have been better if Ian and Vincent could join too! Also, my girlfriend decided to pick up Revo for fun so she ran a Terry Funk which I might do another report for. For now, here's mine, where I went 0-2 with a Sheamus. Definitely not the best deck to run for a competitive game, but, YOLO. haha!

Match 1: Christain Def. Sheamus
When I first came back to game, Joewi was my first Revo opponent. Together we ran many VR decks for fun weekly. Therefore, I knew what was coming when he played Christian. The previous time I went up against him, I was stripped bare naked to 0 hand and 0 backlash, courtesy of his F: 0 maneuver antic hybrids. This time round he went alil different and packed more cores. I had a bad starting hand and didn't get any 2nd solutions. But since I was able to re-cycel Sciccors hold the whole time, I was able to eventually get it through, and with Two For The Show overturned, I started my mean barrage with Double Leg Lock Crabs (DLLC). The idea was for opponent to keep reversing it so that he would take 4 for 4ever: No Mercy, while I can reuse it every turn via DLLC effect. But he didn't fall for it after the second try and soon I had enough F for all my means. Late game I had a good draw and manage to stall off some antics that he throw at me. However, it was down to the last few cards where Christian starts to use his ability to pick up antics to recover. Soon enough, I was down on my hand and my Celtic Cross got reversed. Got pinned not long after with a core with him having less than 5 cards in his arsenal. To be fair, he was able to recur more, so if I didn't clear him with Celtic Cross, I would have died anyways.

0-1

Match 2: Bye

1-1

Match 3: Undertaker Def Sheamus
Joshua ran an upgraded Undertaker from his previous tourneys which saw it become more focused on target:Arm and Holds. As usual, I didn't manage to get any 2nd Solutions in my hand, which saw me eating at least 20damage before I could get off. Got Two For The Show In, Celtic Axehandle Blow for the beginning fortitude. Meanwhile, he's just hitting his holds over and over again, which I had no answer to. Late game same both our decks thinning, but with his maneuvers, he was able to keep recurring, which probably gave him an edge over my deck. we were down to the last few cards, and he started to throw colossal necks. I had the answer to the first few, and I knew I was about to lose. Made a crucial mistake in not reversing Revo STF with Two For The Show. Which could have gave me the chance to reverse the card that pinned me : Tombstone Piledriver. Really intense game.

1-2

Unofficial Match 4: Rey Mysterio Def Sheamus
Roy and I were both at 1-2 at the end so we had a quick game to see who was the ultimate loser of the game. As usual, I got a very bad hand, except that I had Scissors Hold in my hand so I ran with McMahon Family Jewels instead of Tribute To The Troops. Suffered dearly from the lack of reversal, which saw him chain many Hold:Arm, which activated his 2x Ring Psychology:Arm that added his damage to insane levels. I believe I had 1F when he went all out to It All Led To This, followed by a Momentum 54D Superhold.

Unofficial: 1-3

<R> Off Your Mark

<R> Irish Curse Backbreaker
<R> Brogue Kick

Pre-match: Drop everything in order, but the last card should either be tribute to the troops or McMahon Family Jewels. As you can see from my deck build, there are only 2 F:0 maneuvers. Therefore, tribute is there to get the Scissors Hold in my hand, so that I can keep picking it up from my ringside (rs) when it gets reversed. If my starting hand had it, then I will drop Mcmahon Family Jewels instead just for its draw power. Since Sheamus lacks in attack power due to his lousy ability in revo format, I decided to use 4ever: No Mercy to augment the overturning effect. This decided my deck build more or less with many means and only 1 colossal.

In game: As usual, drop the scissors hold until it sticks. Once it's in, use the small cores to start pulling means out from the deck. I chose Short-Arm Clothesline and Knee Lock cause they can allow me to search my arsenal for cards, while Gut Buster is there to activate my ability since I will be drawing cards from its effect. Once I get enough fort, I will start rolling out the means, trying to make use of my ability as much as possible. That explains the deck build even more where 14 of the 29 maneuvers can activate my ability. Just trying to maximise my ability as much as possible.

Afterthoughts: There are 2 major improvements this deck can get.
1. The inclusion of Ric Flair cards through Ric Flair Is In My Corner. His superstar specific cards have the draw power required to further amplify Sheamus's ability.
2. Using Ring Psychology: Throw for draw power, which also equals to activating your ability more often.

Overall, Sheamus is still really really weak in Revo format. Made an arse out of myself for using it on a competitive level, but if you are up for a challenge, then Sheamus should be the first superstar to look at!

Hi guys, would appreciate if you could help me out in the following:

<R> Heartbreaker
Reversal: Mean or Colossal
Requirement: “Revolution The Degenerates” Faction in your Ring.
If you have 3 or more Superstar-specifics from “The Degenerates” Faction Members and/or cards with “The Degenerates” in the text in your Ring, look at the top 10 cards of your Arsenal and put them back on the top and/or bottom of your Arsenal.
Unique
F: 8      D: 4

Am I able to re-arrange the cards that I look at before putting them back to the top or bottom of the arsenal? Technically the text doesn't say that I can arrange them. But if I can't then this card effect ain't all that good.

Thanks in advance!:)

Sorry for once again raising another qn. Wat if I was the rock. Would I still face a double count out? Cause technically my ability allows me to put 1 card at the bottom of the Arsenal before my draw segment. Or does double count out occur as soon as both players have 0 cards left in their Arsenal?

Thanks in advance! :)

For the Divine question, the answer is no.  Here's the example from the OmniFAQ:

Quote
Lashley
-Lashley's non-unique maneuvers cannot be reversed by Divine Intervention when it is overturned.

Lashley (Superstar Card)
Starting Hand Size: 9
Superstar Value: 3
Superstar Ability:
Your non-unique maneuvers cannot be reversed from your opponent’s Arsenal.

The bolded part is the same as Paige's card:

Scorpion Crosslock
Trademark Finisher + Submission
Search your Arsenal or Ringside for Maintain Hold, reveal it, put it in your hand, and shuffle; when that card is your next card played this turn, it cannot be reversed.
Cannot be reversed from Arsenal.
Once during each of your turns when this card is in your hand or Ringside, you may reveal it, put it on the bottom of your Arsenal, and draw 1 card.

Divine Intervention won't touch it.

Hi, with the above in mind, can I say that I can't reverse a Shooting Star Press TB even if I overturn an it's great to be back here in...?

Thanks

Would it be asking too much if you could do a remake of a 'The Game' face as well with the blue background (velocity)? Another remake would make 1 full page of triple H face cards on my 9 page binder:) but if you have too much on your sleeves it's fine!

Mr. Hall of Fame
Backstage Card
Can only be packed by Shawn Michaels.
Do not discard for The Legend Lives On, when that card is in your Ring, it is blank.
At the end of the Pre-match phase when you do not have a Corner or Storyline in your Ring, choose one:  your Ability is blank, and you may put Drawing a Blank from your Backlash into your Ring; OR when you reverse a Superstar-specific card from hand, you may discard 1 card and then search your Arsenal for 1 non-reversal Superstar-specific card, reveal it, put it in your hand, and shuffle.

Frankie Takes Ho-llywood
Pre-match Event
When this card is in your Ring area, your Reversal cards have the Restricted Modification Symbol and you may put this card into your Ringside pile to reverse any Activated Card Effect from a non-unique card and end your opponent's turn.

F: 0      D: 0

ok if i have Frankie in play, along with Mr. Hall of Fame, what becomes of my Legend Lives On ?
1) Do i still discard for Legend Lives On
2) Is it blank?

The Legend Lives On
Reversal: Special
Reverse any Chain, Heat, Throwback, Volley, or Restricted Modification Symbol card and end your opponent's turn. Discard your hand.
When this card is in your Ring area, during your turn your Maneuver cards in your Ringside pile and played from your Ringside pile are Heat cards, and your Maneuver cards played from your hand are Chain cards.
F: 0     D: 2     Unique     Errata
ARM

Thank you in advance :)

1) No.  The wording is such that it's a substitution similar to the E&C / Airplane Spin ruling.
2) I'd say yes.  Frankie Takes Ho-llywood doesn't say where the reversals have RMS, just says that they do.  So Mr. Hall Of Fame can't blank Legend Lives On, because it has RMS.

Hi, i hope this isn't seen as being rude. but since Mr. Hall of Fame is played even before frankie is in the ring, should legend lives on already be blank text? And that frankie will apply the rms on a blanked legend lives on? That was my take for the question and I might well be wrong:)

Since they took out kane on raw the following night, they should probably be working towards a 4 on 4 survivor series between wyatts and BOD + 2 others. That's my take on the current situation.

Hi, can I clarify something about product as well?

Is the -  ssv effect constantly updating itself or does it resolve on the spot. For example im 5 and my opponent's a 7. Assuming we don't belt or play anything to increase other ssv. I play product. So my opponent's ssv is now 1. If I play another face would my opponent ssv be 0? Or does the additional face pre not add to the product effect cause it's already resolved. Thanks!

Makes sense too! Also, can I ask if there would be any revo prize cards for the series or an all revo prize set in the coming series? It's weird when we host a revo tourney but only 4 of 8 prize cards are revo cards.

That's awesome news! Really going to be looking forward to the upcoming revo set.

Can I ask if there would be more support for the current superstars in revo? I'm especially referring to our 11 extremists who currently only have 6 cards in their set. Would love to see more support for other superstars as well as it would definitely change up the dynamics of some decks!

Wow a day seemed really short to get much done. Kudos for the effort as usual!

Anyway, can I confirm that the list is finalised? Cause I vaguely remembered to have 2 of the 'defense' cards in the Khali starter instead of only 1 as reflected in the list. But then again I could be wrong cause that was.... 7 years ago? haha.
