The Wyatt Family can remove lots of cards from the game to power The Lantern.

Does the overturn happen before or after you reverse it? Doesn’t make sense to do it before if there’s the possibility it won’t even be reversed.

Iron Sheik
Your opponent must discard 2 cards to play reversals to your non chain heat maneuvers played from hand, and must overturn 2 cards to reverse your heat maneuvers played from ringside.

Does your opponent have to overturn to reverse heat from ringside to attempt to reverse on overturn as well?

I run my Savage Deck based off his Ability as I wish he could pack High Flying Style as mine is nothing but Cards w/ Elbows in the Title as far as Moves. The Reason for HFS is so I don;t eat damage and wish I knew a way not to EAT them on them.

One of the Big Boys should help a little with that. Alternatively, Backed By Vickie could help if you play Smackdown high risks after your irreversible From The Tope Ropes.

Macho cannot pack Vickie; he's a legend.

I wondered why I hadn’t tried that combo myself. Whoops!

Play Straight Shooting Interview and pack Shoot Counter to get you to 10F. Then play big BASH moves from there.

Why 2x Overshot Your Mark? Between Big Boys and High Flying Style, I’ve found the usefulness of this card to drop drastically. I’ve found You Missed Your Chance to be a better reversal and you could add another high risk reversal if they are a big concern.

One card I loved in Macho Man (He was my first Virtual deck) was San Diego, California. Two of his specific prematch/midmatch play from ringside and then All Hail Macho King returns Living the Good Life from Ringside too. My moveset was also focused on his midmatch Rest Hold, Blindisde Hook, Judo Choke, Whirlwind Kick, Quick Snap Body Slam, and Precision Kick, splashed with some blindsides of choice.

I remember he was a lot of fun and I may revisit him soon.

Thanks Hogtrail for writing up these reports, they can be quite if only I have time to play them all!

Got it! Thanks for the speedy response. So for #1, my thinking was wrong all along, LOL.  :police:

So was our entire playgroup. Wouldn’t mind a confirmation on #1.

Rules Forum / Heenan Family + Sustain vs. DTTAH
« on: April 02, 2019, 01:09:07 PM »
Here's the scenario:

I am playing Heenan Family. I have Sustained Damage in play. I play a grapple, my opponent plays Spinebuster. I attempt to "sustain" the damage and my opponent plays Don't Try This At Home. What happens??

The Heenan Family     (Andre the Giant, 8th Wonder, Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude, Brain Busters, Bobby Heenan logos)
Pre-match Faction
You can pack this card regardless of Superstar, except Eugene.
You are now a Heenan Family Member.
Your Unique reversals are not affected by your opponent's card effects.
When your logo is printed on this card, your Managed by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is Permanent and when you use that card to look at your own Arsenal, you may choose to put both cards on the bottom of your Arsenal instead.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent

Sustained Damage
Mid-match Reversal: Special
Can only be played if your opponent plays a maneuver and you do not reverse it from your hand; does not end opponent's turn.
When this card is in your Ring area, you may discard any number of cards from your hand whenever you must overturn cards from damage to reduce the damage by 2 for each card discarded. You may not discard any further cards once you have begun to overturn cards from your Arsenal.
F: 0   D: 0

Don't Try This at Home
Action / Reversal: Special
As an action, search your Arsenal for the card titled From the Top Rope, reveal it to your opponent, put it into your hand, and shuffle your Arsenal.
As a reversal, when played from your hand, reverse any Activated Card Effect, put that card into your opponent's Ringside pile, he discards 2 cards, and end his turn.
F: 0      D: 0

No, it gets removed from game before hitting the ringside pile.

How do you start most games? Playing 8D Ap Chakis? What did you lose to? Is there anything specifically you think needs help?

PS thanks for posting a VC decklist! It’s lots of work and we see fewer and fewer posted each year.

This card isn’t terrible. You either force your opponent to play a reversal (Elbow, missed your chance, whatever) and they don’t have access to that to recover it late game or you bridge to 10F and almost double your handsize. Late game you can recover 8. I’d pack it - what have you got to lose? Concerned about deck space? I’d pack this over Elbow Drop, but ideally drop a different B2B move, like Body Slam instead.

Yes it was a typo and you’ve listed all the Trash Talkin’ cards. (Well, pretty sure The Miz has a specific card that interacts with them too, but that’s only if you’re including Virtual cards.)

Unless I'm missing something, Alexa is not a diva and cannot pack Skirt the Issue

My bad, I was blinded by my “don’t overwhelm him with virtual” mindset.

Virtual Deck Reviews / Re: Alexia Bliss: Little Miss Bliss

Solid start.

Backstage: Look for NXT Breakout Star, great little card for NXT Superstars.

Prematch: Not a fan of Managed by Steph. I’d run Bra and Panties instead. I’d try to add the 2 or 3 NXT prematch cards from the newest set, Full Sail Arena, Corey Graves, and NXT Arrival.

Midmatch: Not a huge fan of Chase Off Manager in females as it can be easily
Reversed and has no effect on 50% of your opponents. I’d add another Slirt the Issue. I’d also look to add Your Reach Exceeds Your Grasp from Virtual.

Moves: I’d try to add 3x Body Lock. I’d be inclined to replace the Apply Legal Leverages with them. Add some more 0F cards to her. I also like Handcuffed, although it’s a strike, they have to discard two to reverse, so it compliments the Body Locks.

Actions: I think there are a few too many, and I only say that because I think you have too few reversals. I’d drop the Great Technical Lnowledge and 1 copy of JR Style and Maintain to make room for more red cards.

Reversals: Needs Some Don’t Try This At Home (ACE reversal). I’m not a fan of Quick reflexes/Unexpected in 3 SSV decks. I’d go back to Step/Escape. I’m a big fan of Eye Rake and Back Rake for Alexa, or perhaps Nerve Hold. I know you’re limited to your collection, but any card that can do two things for the deck, just means you have more options.

Hope this helps take you in a positive direction. Tried to stick to necessary changes without recommending the 10-12 other Virtual cards you need just yet.

On Four Corners, if the opponent discards two cards, I’d like to see the Turnbuckle go back to the Backlash deck (unless they already have that text themselves!) haven’t looked at them in probably a decade. Otherwise, I really like all of them!

Don’t you need to play all of these blindsides from ringside to get those effects? In which case you are moving a card from ringside and must first remove all heat cards to play them?

Classic Deck Reviews / Re: Heat
« on: January 15, 2019, 09:55:34 AM »
Wow lots of good responses. Is blinside counterintuitive with heat?

Absolutely counterintuitive.

While the idea of mixing traits is a good one, Heat is probably the toughest to do so (recovery restrictions, Headstrong restrictions).

Classic Raw Deal / Re: Question with some (keywords) that are new to me??
« on: January 14, 2019, 07:43:27 PM »
Probably the three most used of the newest terms for Virtual are below:
-This term replaces the phrase 'When you reversed a card to end your opponent's turn and this is the first card played on your turn...'
-Additional modifiers can be used, such as 'When played as a Counter (maneuver)', to indicate the reversed card had to be a maneuver.  Another example is 'When played as a Counter (hand or Backlash),' meaning the opponent's card had to be reversed from hand or Backlash.

Flip Over
-Cards that are flipped over do not affect the game, they lose all traits but retain their card title, and they become the card type 'Face-Down'.
-A Permanent, Active or RMS card cannot become face-down.
-Face-Down cards are public knowledge, just like face up cards.
-Note that this has no bearing on cards placed face-down under other cards, such as That's Broken or Back to Basics.  These do not interact with cards like Turning Everything Upside Down.
-If a card such as That's Broken is flipped over face-down, it will prevent the card under it from being played, as there is no text to allow it.  If the face-down Broken leaves the Ring, the card underneath it will go to Ringside.
-Face-Down cards have no Fortitude or Damage values. Anything that relies on one of those values will fail when it attempts to interact with a Face-Down card.
-Once a face-down card leaves the Ring, it stops being face-down and returns to normal. Any effects on the formerly face-down card that reference it leaving play will not fire, since they will only return after the card has already left.

-Promo: # is short for "Look at the top # cards of your Arsenal, put 1 of those cards in your hand, and the rest in your Ringside."

Pure heat decks can be really tricky, you almost need a superstar ability that supports it (Ambrose, NWO, Snitsky, Hassan, etc)

Back in the day, most of my heat decks ran Hell in a Cell, since recovery isn’t always an option (until later sets). My favourite heat deck was Kane/BFM.

I’ve never played a Vickie deck before, but what Smackdown moves does it work with in this deck? Are there any?

I'm thinking we'll see some 205 guys, given we got the 205 card teaser.

I think priority should be given to recent/current champs not in the game yet like:
Ronda, Roode, The Bar, AOP

Then my personal wishlist:
Elias, Ruby Riott, and Ember Moon
