Virtual Deck Reviews / Re: Test - Tournament Winning Deck
« on: May 23, 2020, 11:58:18 AM »
Ability doesn't allow him:

Test
Starting Hand Size: 2     Superstar Value: 2
Superstar Ability: Your Backlash deck may contain an additional 6 Mid-match cards. You cannot play any Pre-match cards except the card titled Managed by Stacy Keibler, it is not a Heel card, and before the Pre-match you may put up to 2 into play. You may not play more than 2 of any non-unique card. You may play up to 2 of all unique cards. Before your Draw Segment, your opponent discards # cards, where # is equal to the number of cards your opponent has in his hand greater than the number of cards in your hand+2.

I found it to be the exact helper card BFM needed, before this he was "well he gets his fort but if it gets removed or undermine'ed away he was pretty screwed" now he's got a nice plan B or a hella hard to stop late game card if you needed it! A rare card I didn't female dog once about in testing

I LOVE this write-up, I really do (and yeah this is me being nice before I disagree on something....but I do love this write-up!!)
But I do disagree on two cards, but when you look at those two cards you need to see the whole as we call it "the ACMT Package"

'Cause Adam Crites Said So
Backstage Area
Cannot be packed by Doink.
Can only be revealed at the Adam Crites Memorial Tournament, or when you play The "On One" Arena, Ontario, California.
When you shuffle and draw cards for One!, add 1 to those numbers.
During your turn, you may hide this card and shuffle 1 card from your Ringside into your Arsenal; during the Adam Crites Memorial Tournament, you may shuffle 2 cards instead.

Best There Is, Best There Was
Backstage Area
Cannot be packed by Doink.
Can only be revealed at the Adam Crites Memorial Tournament, or when you play The "On One" Arena, Ontario, California; that card does not take up a slot in your Ring.
When you have 2+ cards in your hand, you may hide this card to completely reverse any Chain, Heat, or Volley card, and then overturn 2 cards and discard 2 cards.

The "On One" Arena, Ontario, California
Pre-match Venue
ACE:  When your opponent reverses any card from Arsenal on the first card, you may put this card into your Ringside, and then discard 2 cards and continue your turn.  When played at the Adam Crites Memorial Tournament, do not discard any cards.
When this card is in your Ringside and he reverses any card from Arsenal on the first card, you may remove this card from the game, discard 2 cards and continue your turn.

Backhand Slap - Throwback
Strike / Reversal: Special
When you are not The Godfather, cannot be packed when packing Sidewalk Slam.
As a maneuver, draw up to 2 cards, and your opponent puts 1 card from his hand on the bottom of his Arsenal.
As a reversal, reverse any card that 'cannot be reversed' or when you are The Godfather, reverse any non-unique Action.
F: 0     D: 2     Unique

I've Got One Thing To Say About That!
Reversal: Special
Cannot be packed when packing Sidewalk Slam.
When played from hand, reverse any card that has Momentum or 'cannot be reversed'; when you do not have Back to Basics or a BASH card in your Ring, draw up to 1 card and shuffle up to # cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal, where # is the number of your cards in your Backstage Area, Ring, Ringside, or removed from the game with 'Adam Crites Memorial Tournament' in the text +1.
F: 1     D: 0     Unique

One!
Reversal: Special
When this card is removed from the game, it cannot be played or moved to another area.
When overturned, reverse any non-Superstar-specific maneuver, remove this card and 1 card in your Ringside from the game, and then discard 1 card.  When  The "On One" Arena, Ontario, California is in your Ring, when this card reverses as the first card overturned, or during the Adam Crites Memorial Tournament, shuffle up to 2 cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal and draw up to 3 cards.
F: 1     D: 0     Unique

Take One Second
Action + Action
This card is considered blank for your effects, and your opponent can only play 1 reversal to this card.
Choose 1 option: draw 1 card, put 1 random card from Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal, or your opponent discards 1 card; when The "On One" Arena, Ontario, California is in your Ring or Ringside, or during the Adam Crites Memorial Tournament, double the numbers in this effect.
F: 1     D: 1     Unique     Multi

Aside of the obvious "Drew McIntrye loves all this" comment, there are people who can make their can not be reversed moves only reversible by uniques too (that hurt my head as well I know), pairing them with the Heenan Family Faction, you can protect them from plunge as well

And you can add this one as well if you need three can not be reversed stoppers:

Unintended CONsequences   NEW
Reversal: Special
This card is +5F for each Sidewalk Slam in your Ring.
Reverse any card that 'cannot be reversed' or any Unique antic, and put up to 1 card in your Ringside with 'GenCon' in the text into your hand.
When there are no non-F: 0 non-Chain maneuvers with printed reversal restrictions in your Ring, your Fortitude Rating is +1 for every non-Chain card in your opponent's Ring with a printed reversal restriction.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique

I'd give them at least a 6 or 7 out of 10 (and they're VERY helpful for b2b decks) ....and it gives you a way to protect yourself if you're out of TB sidewalk slams or just want to go the unique route (World Tour, Steel Chain shot abuse) ....but I think you can't look at the two backstage cards in a bubble since they are part of a more complete set :)

Yeah I know, just the four days of driving and being away from the world for basically a week is very good for my mental health and that's what I'm trying to replace this year :o

Top Rope Gut Buster isn't being modified by another card, it's self-modifying, if there was some slick way to make it not played after gut buster by restricted use that would work, but I don't think there is one aside of 3MW working way too hard on contract tables :o

Braun wins 24F to 12 19 in a match that rivaled the excitement of his match with Oldberg last week......

Edit by Dilbert: Just because non-maneuver F doesn't count against Braun in game, doesn't mean it doesn't count for tiebreaker purposes.

I haven't really tried OCTGN (I should) ....but that kind of free time just hasn't been around much of late ....maybe it will be better now with half the free world shutting down....but people will still be idiots on their computers

I'd love to make the effort again if others are interested

Virtual Deck Reviews / Re: Razor Ramon - BASH
« on: March 10, 2020, 08:25:58 PM »
The problem with No Escape against his reversals isn't its reversal restriction, but the fact that most of his reversals hit non-uniques and there usually are minimal non-uniques in a No Escape deck.

He's got the Revo's the Managers, the Rakes and the BASH reversal (which he can cycle since he plays bash moves.....I think he's kinda ok there)

all he needs add is making your escape and he's fine for no escape :)

I find classic knee to the groin is a nice transition move, but tb German is better

BASH you till five and calvary might be better recovery options (though Candice give you more....but Hell Cell..... again....make your escape!)

Backlash over turning things upside down is an interesting choice.....

If the final set was released in Dec 2007, I'm sure it found its way into 2008, and if I remember right, qualifier winners still got wrestlemania 2008 tickets but nothing else

Introduced in 2000, Raw Deal is an out-of-print collectible card game published by Comic Images and licensed from World Wrestling Entertainment.[1] It was released in August 2000.[2] It was designed to replicate the action of a professional wrestling match. The game was designed by Michael Foley and Barron Vangor Toth. On November 14, 2007, Comic Images released a Press Release stating that they had lost the WWE License due to declining sales.[3] The game ceased production in December 2007.

So the answer is about 7 years and two months, since the last year was probably all revo and post $$3 I'm sure that when the finances started to drop on it

Rules Forum / Re: Matt hardy movement and Volley trait
« on: March 02, 2020, 07:16:01 AM »
Is the card from hand? Yep
Is the card a maneuver? Yep

it's all good, being part action doesn't take away from it being a move still

just like See How it Feels tb can't be reversed by you're a jive soul bro, since it's still a maneuver

Virtual Raw Deal / Raw Deal's 20th anniversary!!!
« on: March 01, 2020, 05:58:33 PM »
Its CRAZY to think this game has been along this long isn't it??? (damn)

and I know there's an event planned for the actual date of the anniversary....but it does seem fitting to celebrate it ....back where it all began..... Gen Con this year!
Anyone thinking of going? Any events, ideas you'd like to see? I know we'll have better prize support lined up this year (we even have the promo card ready!)

If you're coming and have thoughts and suggestions.... PLEASE speak up.... I'd love to see this be a big one this year and all input is most welcome!

RMS cards can not be flipped because that would be modifying the card. Similar logic as to why permanent cards can't be flipped since it would mess with the permanent trait as well

No, they have different titles, you can pack throwbacks like tb Backhand Slap

Luck of the draw and learn how to fight with Finlay are the non-specifics you'll want (I built him last month and can vouch for this)

Rules Forum / Re: Time to find out who i am!!
« on: February 09, 2020, 05:40:09 AM »
No, there are no "turns" in the pre-match phase, card was specifically worded that way so you had to actually play a card during the game to get the perk :)

(from a design side if we were going to let playing the pre reveal it, it would have been easier to have it revealed all along)

Welcome (back) to Raw Deal / Re: Crowdsourcing Virtual Starter Decks
« on: January 09, 2020, 10:16:21 AM »
I would think an Educated Feet AJ Styles deck would be a good one as well, since he's a big name and people like him, his ability meshes well with it and he can throw the kicks from ringside as well (I had built one for the 11 year old, but they're not ready for Raw Deal yet)

A BASH APA deck is pretty straightforward too, throw moves, do lots of damage and kick ass!

With the amount of quality proxies we have at our disposal now, it should be pretty simple to get those Elbows/Return BASH'es/etc into a simple starter pack and focus more on "what does this card do" over "how the hell do I find THAT card?"

Lex is OK
I'd be VERY careful about upping the total page's power, that ability could be super easily used and abused like crazy

I had drawing issues with them, they never were able to get good hands, least in my efforts
