Rules Forum / Re: Quick Question
« on: April 09, 2018, 02:56:55 PM »
In a word yes.

An ECW superstar is anyone who has the ECW logo on their superstar card.
An Extremist will have the cool-at-the-time graphic of having Superstar Card scratched out and Extremist written on it.

I believe in ALL scenarios so far (may change in the future, or even now; please correct if I'm wrong), Printed Extremists are ECW Superstars, but the opposite isn't true (Lance Storm is the first one to come to mind that's ECW but not an Extremist).

So far, you're doing everything right.

The next step is to tell her that you've "got this" on the build-up to the event.

Then, let the event happen and next time she brings it up, just tell her that you talked to a few girls but nothing came from it.

That's at least all I can can give you.

Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: YES! YES! YES!

Anyone who authorizes any wrestler in WWE to do that move should be fired, blacklisted, and beaten behind the arena.

Seeing the effects on Benoit, Marella, Bryan, and others.. it's just a @#$*& stupid move to be using.

And anyone who does one without authorization should spend a full program jobbing to SeƱor Benjamin in squash matches. People, you have elbows for a reason.

Or fists, or knees, or legs, or feet, or even a torso.

If his brain is good, then this is good.
However, if you are expecting him to be the top guy and be in constant high-quality m arches every week, then you're nuts.  Even AJ Styles (a better all-around performer) doesn't do that because the damage it does to you; that's a lot of why these guys keep getting injured.

It comes in one of the promo packs.
Steve or one of the database guys would be able to tell you exasctly which one you need to find.

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Gen Con Badges
« on: February 18, 2018, 12:52:45 AM »
It all depends on where that places you and how long you're staying, in addition to the quality.  Without knowing if you're coming in Wednesday or staying until Monday (or both, like me) and if you're in a high-demand area not downtown (Airport:  SW of town, just outside the outerbelt).

At this point, we might need to spin some of this off into a Tips and Tricks to traveling to Gen Con (or any convention in general).

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Gen Con Badges
« on: February 17, 2018, 09:59:33 AM »

How much were they before? I was surprised the four day badge was $110. I had figured it was going to be higher.

Last year was $90 for the 4-day pass.
Though, that is only the pass to get into the convention and the dealer's room.  Tickets for each event (well, besides demos and the Wednesday shenanigans) are going to be a little more.

And don't forget the most expensive part:  That (expletive removed) hotel.

Gaming Discussion (Everything Else) / Re: GenCon Help
« on: February 10, 2018, 01:21:06 AM »
All noted, but I want to add a few things:

1.  At this point, if you wanted to stay downtown by the ICCC, it'll cost A LOT (over $2000) if you haven't gotten your badge.  Reason is the emails for the housing portal went out.  Staying on the outer-belt is, and will remain, an option but be prepared to drive or Uber/Lyft in a half-hour each way every day.

2.  Badges are on sale now; if you know you're going, get it now because there's no guarantee it won't sell out again.  It sold out last year, and even with the price spike, it could sell out again.

3.  Downtown will cost you over $2000 for just the hotel at this point; the outer-belt is going to run $400-$600 depending on quality.  Just remember that Parking each day is an additional cost, between $10 and $30 a day, also driving in/Uber/Lyft also needs to be accounted for on the outer-belt.
Look at and they can give a lot of good advice, no matter if it's for food, hotels, bars, or anything at the Con.  Also, willing to split a room with someone would help reduce costs, just find someone you trust to room with for the time.

4.  Unless you want to do anything in town, there's no need to show up before Wednesday afternoon for any sort of Hotel check-in (at least that's me) or Thursday morning for the "first day."  Things are happening besides Raw Deal and SuperShow during the whole time, even on Wednesday; take some time to pop your head out of this bubble and see what's out there.

General Chat / Re: Four Corners Podcast

Is this only going up on YouTube?

I ask since I tried to use both of my podcast apps on my phone (one is more stable, the other can get more obscure ones) to find it.  I'd rather have the ability to use something like that than to keep looking it up on a YouTube video.

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Gencon 2018 Sunday Format.
« on: January 31, 2018, 11:16:58 AM »
Most of us on TCO who show up for more than 1 day are usuaslly there all 4 days.

The issue with many people tends to be two-fold when it comes to a Sunday format:
1.  Many people are just burnt out when it comes to Raw Deal after playing for 3 days.
2.  Everything else at Gen Con; people do want to go out and see what else is happening.

If you wanted to try and run something on Sunday, I'd recommend it something more fun than competative.

Rules Forum / Re: Heyman Interferes versus Dirty Low Blow
« on: January 27, 2018, 11:52:05 PM »
First, Heyman Interferes' card text:

Heyman Interferes
Reversal: Special
Can only be played when you have 2+ cards with 'Heyman' in the title in your Ring and/or Ringside; when you have 4+ cards with 'Heyman' in the title in your Ring, this card is -7F.
Can only be played when your opponent plays a card, he puts that card into his hand (or Backlash, if applicable), it is considered not to be played, and end his turn; when you have 4+ cards with 'Heyman' in the title, you may put his card into his Ring, Ringside, or remove it from the game instead.
F: 12     D: 0     Unique

I underlined the important part (I think).  You're not reversing the maneuver in any way; instead what's happening is Heyman is he's throwing the move back and is acting as if it didn't get played.

Virtual Raw Deal / Re: Sid
« on: January 17, 2018, 11:09:43 PM »
That straight-lined one should be a Sid Justice-era.  You k now, before the character went Psycho.

Another one could be one with no picture; that would be on honor of his true reputation. ;D

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: printing certain cards
« on: January 11, 2018, 01:54:13 PM »
That is an easy copy and paste job on a Word (or Word alternative) document.

First, you need to do is download the related Word file.  Adter that, open both it and a blank one.
Then just click the image of the card you want, hold "ctrl" and press "c".  Then go to the blank file, hold "ctrl" and press "v" as many times as you want to copy the card.
Finally, just print the page(s) of the one you made and you shoulkd be all set.

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Why NOT Gen Con???
« on: December 28, 2017, 12:56:25 PM »
To dig in further for Gen Con (for now, if you want to know some rumblings about what it looks like it's going, we can talk elsewhere), the truth is that Indy has hosted Worlds for the past decade.  Raw Deal at Gen Con is established as something that will get between 10 and 25 unique people every year; I don't know if anywhere else has that consistency to fall on right now.

That's not to say don't run elsewhere.  If the rumblings are more than heresay, it may be needed.

On top of that, any time guys can get together to game and have fun should never be scoffed at

Fantasy Cards / Re: Seth Rollins- I Always Have A Plan B.
« on: November 04, 2017, 04:08:52 PM »
totally forgot it was rms, could just add in the text that the card is considered to not be rms.

You could also make it an ACE(?) with the fantasy card reversing when Always Have a Plan B is overturned.

Then you just add a line where you can pack Always Have a Plan B as if it was not Smackdown.

Unfortunately, you can't.
Not even ignoring any "Can only be played after..." text doesn't work.

Deck Reviews - Classic / Re: The Crippler + Hell in a Cell Match
« on: October 08, 2017, 03:10:59 PM »
OH, I thought you meant opponent....

Benoit has too many good recovery cards, the Box probably hurts him as much as it helps though

The trick is that you know HiaC is being thrown out (since you're the one doing it) and you bypass the Benoit recovery cards, as well as any other recovery that wouldn't work in the Cell; you use Crippler's Ability (and the one with the Angle logo) as your recovery base.
You do that to mess with your opponent's ability to recover.

Does it work?  Yes, to a point.  I know since I had one built.  It was never going to be top-tier as too many variables messed with the design, but it was an effective design if no one saw it coming.
I eventually made an Inferno Match (tb) variant that relied upon reversing from the overturn and Multis to do damage.  That was much more effective, as people got to the point that I'd reverse on 1-3, then shuffle back in everything I needed.  Thank God Inferno Match (tb) got the kick in the nuts it needed is all I'll say after playing that deck.

Joined, but having trouble finding any type of checklist.

It's a little bit down (they've been active with the new storyline and Xander's brother showing up) on the posts.  A lot more than I realized.

I decided to cut out the B.S. and just send the link to you on FB Messenger.

If you're on Facebook, you should look up the "XCW's SuperShow Fan Page" group.  I know Bryan has a decent Spreadsheet (even though it's missing a few minor things) that can serve as a starting point for any database you may need.

As far as I know, Cody will sign anything with the Rhodes names; Stardust may be harder since I've never seen or heard about anyone asking him on that.

If you really wanted to, get him to sign a Dusty face card.

Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: R.I.P Bobby Heenan
« on: September 19, 2017, 09:21:42 AM »
Pretty much the whole Heenan Family is reunited up there besides Arn and Tully.

I can only imagine the chaos they're causing.  :(

RIP to the greatest manager, and color commentator in the history of Pro Wrestling.

Wait, did I miss Haku/Meng passing?

No.  Even death fears Haku after hearing the stories, and I don't blame death.

After having a discussion with friends on his legacy, we realized that Heenan shaped everything in the business st least as much as Hogan or Flair, and probably more-so.
If WWE doesn't have a huge tribute to Heenan, they are doing him a huge disservice.

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Xavier Woods' Twitter
« on: August 25, 2017, 06:51:22 PM »
I'm not trying to argue or dispute any points made here but am I missing something? All I read was him wanting to make a "mobile version". I assumed that meant for phones or tablets, not a store product.

Here's the one issue coming into play with anything Raw Deal coming back:  WWE's Licensing.
Unless the Fed signs a paper to give anyone the rights to use their trademarks and likenesses, Raw Deal as a mobile app is nothing more than a dream and a discussion.  Anything that goes out using WWE's Trademarks would not only get shut down, but the creators would probably be taken to court.

Now, the fact that one of the bigger draws for Vince is openly talking about it (and another thing that's being reported separate from this topic) might be the first step beyond that dream and discussion.

Could it happen?  Maybe, but we are still years of work away from it even being real.

Also, if the rumors are true and Mr. Austin Creed/Xavior Woods occasionally stops into TCO; I urge you to look into SuperShow.  Several people are on these forums and you can easily find them active on Facebook (not as much Twitter, shame on them).

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: GEN CON ROLL CALL
« on: July 23, 2017, 07:27:01 PM »
Is the schedule for Gencon (both raw deal and super show) posted anywhere?

I have not played raw deal since the last chance qualifier for worlds for the Detroit wrestlemania (the one with god emperor trump)

but I played super show at origins and it was a good time

Also will my jake roberts deck from 10 years ago still be legal?  That's all the Supershow events.  Also note that even though an event is sold out, Generics will be accepted (at least that's what Steve Resk last said)  That's your RDPC list.

Supershow Rules / Pack vs. Play
« on: July 22, 2017, 10:59:46 AM »
So Snake Pitt has a base Agility of 7; but if he has less cards in hand then his opponent it goes to 8.

So my question is this:  Can he pack the 718 (which has a requirement of an 8+ Agility), and just have it a dead card he can't play until his ability is active?

General Chat / Re: The time to act is now...
« on: July 06, 2017, 10:32:59 AM »
Note:  I know this will be gone once that server move finally happens, but this is breaking news people need to see.

It happened.  Gen Con is sold out of 4 day passes.

Let's split this into two parts, shall we?

1.  Shoot Headlock/RMS (that stop sign symbol with the fingers up and down) and damage modification.

To make it short, no.  RMS prevents ANY outside modifiers from  messing with the card.  No ability, no Tech Knowledge.
However, it does count towards the number of maneuvers played.  For Example, if Shoot Headlock was your first and you followed up with Double Axe Handle (tb), the Double Axe Handle would be the second and get +2 (or 4 if you have your feud out).

2.  +6d after Rabid Attack?
Again, no.  That text is for things like Big Splash, Superplex, and other things like that.  Basically, in addition to everything else, you can play a move a s if you played Throw into the Corner Turnbuckle.
Also think of it like this: is there a direct effect happening?  Nothing is saying to add 6 damage to a Strike or add 12 F to my opponwnt's reversal cost, so they don't apply.
