Rules Forum / Saturn's ability and Flawless Transition
« on: August 10, 2019, 09:04:10 PM »
Does a person have to discard an extra card to reverse Flawless Transition from hand or backlash for Saturn's ability, or does the RMS on it mean that he still only has to discard 2?

Out of curiosity, what New Deal deck on YouTube do you mean?

I think the wording means that if you reveal the card for the ACE effect of the pre-match card not the actual searching and putting under the card itself.

I wouldn't take it at face value that all of those characters that will show up in v10. Raw Deal has a long history of having cards that reference characters that either come out a long time after that if at all. Hello, Ladies is a good example of this. I would say that a few of those superstars showing up in v10 is a safe bet, though. I do look forward to see what those superstars will have to offer if and when they come out.

Oh, neat idea. This opens up a lot of room to represent a lot of tag teams that were a thing for short periods of time and never got a chance to be in the game. For instance, I always wanted to see a representation of the tag team my friends and I nicknamed the Canadian Violence Connection, which was when Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho were a team for a while.

I hope the tag teams as a faction card thing continues on!

One thing you can do is add a copy of Drawing a blank into your pre-match in place of one of the There is No Escapes. It's a Virtual card, yes, but it does work with a few maneuvers listed on There is No Escape, and adds another level of protection for them. There is No Escape can be countered with the card Making Your Escape, so you can't rely on the reversal restrictions it provides.

Well, first thing that stands out is that you have 3 Dirty Low Blows, but you can't play those when playing There is No Escape since they're non-unique. You should switch to the Unique version of the card. Also, why are you packing 3 of There is No Escape?

Rules Forum / My Name is Matt Striker....

Have a question about this card. If I have three in my backlash deck, a dynamic card in my ringside, and my opponent has the prerequisite number of reversals out, and he reverses a dynamic maneuver, can I put all three copies of Matt Striker into my ring area? Or can I only put one?

Good write up, but there are a few things I think is worth considering. One could argue that the problem with a character like Tazz can be one dimensional, so mixing up the moves may not be a bad idea. One possible idea is to keep throwing suplexes at your opponent to try to get a rhythm going. Then, at a certain fortitude threshold, you can try to switch gears on them and then hit your opponent with hard to reverse submissions. Hopefully, you can catch them off-guard, and it also gives you another reason beyond Tazzmission to pack Maintain Holds.

Another strategy to consider is using There Is No Escape. Tazz can make great use of it since 3 different suplexes that he can pitch and search for. The added reversal restrictions is nice, but not a necessity since it's so easy to be countered (Making Your Escape). What you do get out of it is some lovely, lovely, stun that can go a long way to help keep Tazz's hand up.
