If you're using Virtual cards, you can pack High-Flying Style and Cruiserweight Style Action. Those make your non-Throwback Japanese Arm Drags 0F High Risks, which might help get that opening Fortitude.

Rules Forum / Re: Blanking card moved from ring and then re-played
« on: September 08, 2018, 08:14:17 AM »
When Heyman uses his ability, he just puts them into his ring or into his Backstage; he never plays them. Accordingly, his stipulations don't encounter step 1 of the timing in playing a card:
"1 Play the card.  Until the card is moved to another area, it is not in any area while resolving the Timing Breakdown."

So his stipulations are always either in his ring or Backstage.

Welcome (back) to Raw Deal / Re: Need Set Help

You'll probably be hard pressed to build decks out of boosters from earlier sets, unless there's a survivor series in there. You'll be relying on getting sets of the booster only Superstars, and you'll be unlikely to pull basic reversals like elbow to the face, step aside, etc.

You certainly won't have any trouble building 60 card decks, it will just be a very specific meta.

That said, if you supplement those boxes with some of the virtual stuff from this site, you can make up for a lot of that slack, and introduce a horde of complete Superstars, not to mention support for anyone you get from the boosters.

Raw Deal Online / Lackey on iPad update error
« on: June 16, 2018, 03:04:55 PM »
When trying to use the update URL, I'm getting an "ERROR!: unable to download a valid update list.txt" message.  This is on iPad. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone find a work around? (Since this IOS and an app, I don't know how to do the .zip workaround that would address the issue in Windows).

Thanks in advance.

Rules Forum / Jimmy Hart's Megaphone vs. It's Showtime
« on: May 14, 2018, 07:49:19 PM »
Jimmy Hart's Megaphone
Backstage Card
Cannot be packed by Doink.
This card may be moved into your Arsenal.
During your first turn of the game, you may shuffle this card from your Backstage Area into your Arsenal.
You may play this card from hand as if it was F: 20 and a "Reversal: Superstar specific non-maneuver card"; when you have lower Fortitude, as if it was F: 10.
Unique     D: 2

It's Showtime!
Pre-match Event
If it is the first turn of the game, you may reveal your hand to your opponent before his Draw Segment, then overturn the top 2 cards of your Arsenal and put them into your Ringside pile. End your opponent's turn.
F: 0   D: 0

Player 1 has Jimmy Hart's Megaphone in his backstage. Player 1 is going first. Player 2 activates It's Showtime.

Is there any window of opportunity for the Megaphone to go from the backstage area into Player 1's arsenal?

Rules Forum / Flashy LED Jacket and Blank Cards
« on: April 14, 2018, 07:03:33 AM »
Jericho's Flashy LED Jacket
Backstage Card
Once during each of your turns, when you have no face-down cards in your Ring, you may discard 1 card and overturn 1 card and then put 1 non-Superstar-specific card from your Ringside in your Ring face-down.
When you successfully play 1 card with blank text, you may put 1 card from your Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal and flip 1 card in your Ring face-down.

If I play a card with blank text, may I choose to flip a card facedown but decline to put a card on the bottom of my Arsenal?

Monster Beal
If your opponent has the card titled "High-Flying Style" or any card with the word "Lucha" in the title in his Ring, this card is -5F.
If the card titled "As Big and Tough as Any Two Men" is in your Backstage, this card is +5D.

Rules Forum / Respect the Authority and Rollins' Flying Knee Stike
« on: February 20, 2018, 01:10:52 PM »
Respect The Authority
Backstage Card
Cannot be packed by DX or Two-Man Power Trip.
During your first Draw Segment of the game, draw up to 2 additional cards and your opponent puts 1 random card in his hand on the bottom of his Arsenal.
No player discards for your Superstar-specific High Risks; your Backed by Stephanie McMahon cards are Superstar-specific and replace the '3' with '6' in the text. When you Activate Vince McMahon Interferes!, he cannot reverse the effect. When played as an action, your A Dynasty's Destiny is F: 0 and cannot be reversed.
Unique     RMS logo

Rollins' Flying Knee Strike
High Risk / Reversal: Action
As a maneuver, can only be played after a successfully played maneuver or as a Counter (maneuver).  When played, you may discard up to 5 cards, this card is -2F for each card discarded.
As a reversal, reverse any action.
When successfully played, draw up to 1 card.
F: 20     D: 10     SV: 2     Unique

If Seth has Respect the Authority in his Backstage (via Don't Sell Out - Buy In), does it prevent him from voluntarily discarding cards for his Knee Strike? Or would this be a circumstance like with Edge & Christian's ability where he would reveal the cards he would have discarded to get the effect.

I ask because the phrase on Respect is "No player discards" not "No player may discard". So I could see this as an effect that prevents him from paying the cost (discard a card) to get the effect, or as an effect that steps in after the cards are designated and keeps them from leaving his hand.

Thanks in advance!

We just had our first back at the end of September. For months, when we'd wake her up, she'd do Randy Orton's turnbuckle pose. Never could get a good picture of it.

Rules Forum / Turning Everything Upside Down and Revealed RMS
« on: January 27, 2018, 09:36:08 PM »
Turning Everything Upside Down
Mid-match Action / Reversal: Special
Cannot be packed by 1-2-3 Kid, Eve, Sandman, or The Second Coming.
As an action, when you have lower Fortitude, your opponent cannot respond to this card; reveal the top 3 cards of your Arsenal, you may put any D: 3- cards into your Ring face-down, and shuffle.
As a reversal, this card is F: 0, and when you have lower Fortitude, reverse any card that is not the first or second card played this turn.
When this card is in your Ring, once during each of your turns, you may choose 1 face-down card in your Ring that does not have 'win the game' in the text, and turn it over.
F: 6     D: 0     Unique     Permanent     RMS logo

As an action, I reveal a Shoot Punch. Since I may put that card in play facedown, but RMS cards cannot be flipped over, Shoot Punch is not a valid target for TEUD, right?

Deck Reviews - Virtual / Re: Help me build Bayley
« on: January 03, 2018, 03:18:50 PM »
I second Drywall's advice and offer a few other pointers to consider:

Bayley has the potential to get pretty massive Fortitude discounts on her Counters. She can run the Virtual Backstage Card "The Era of the Superstar" (Virtual 8), which will give her Counter Maneuvers (without Reversed in the Text) -2F and the Virtual Prematch Pay-Per-View "NXT Arrival" (Virtual 7) which, after taking a hit, can give up an additional discount (depending on how many overturned cards you intend to put under it) for a Counter Maneuver. So there's a lot of opportunity to pull out larger-than-anticipated maneuvers earlier in the match. Arrival, in particular, dovetails nicely with Bayley since your opponent's successfully played maneuvers trigger both your Ability and fuel the Headband/Turn It Up interplay.

If you pack The Era of the Superstar, you also gain access to The Women's Evolution, a very handy Midmatch Reversal.

While not a Backlash card, I'd think that this deck would go very nicely with X-treme Measures (Mania) and Lita to the XTreme (Backlash) for setting up your High Risks. These are better for when you either have the HR you intend to play already in hand, or have not used Major Announcement yet in the turn, as they will not give you the chance to play From the Top Rope.

I personally prefer the non-TB version of You Feeling Lucky? for setting up High Risks. Just like the TB version, you'd use Major Announcement to search for the correct maneuver type (which will be what they did choose rather than what they didn't) and it'll be unreversable, as opposed to the potential penalty set up by the TB version. However, the TB version does call for you to discard 2 cards, which might be helpful with Drywall's suggestion about using Evening Up the Odds.

Deck Reviews - Virtual / Re: Help me build Bayley
« on: January 01, 2018, 05:00:46 PM »
This is not a criticism, but an attempt to figure out how you want the deck to work:
Why do you want to build Bayley with Major Announcement?

What are you hopping for the deck to do? Because that is going to play a big role in how you shape your Pre and Mid.

With your first paragraph, I will say that if you want a venue, you should pack either This is MY Hometown! (Virtual) or Hometown Hero (Virtual). Since Bayley only had 2 Superstar Value, your opponent will regularly have first crack at playing Venue.

And since you want to use DC to search for a Throwback, it might be worthwhile to get a copy of Managed by the Coach (Classic, Rare, Armageddon), which will let you get a non-unique High Risk (several of which are available on Major Announcement), but will also let you pull Throwback maneuvers or of your ringside. Managed by Coach is Raw branded, so keep that in mind especially since the Flying Head Scissor throwback is a SmackDown card.

On the other hand, going Raw gives you access to The King Interferes (Classic, Rare, Velocity and SS3), which is an excellent Mid-Match reversal.

Rules Forum / Is From NXT to WWE an NXT card?
« on: December 28, 2017, 03:06:30 PM »
Per the Virtual OmniFAQ, there's only a definition for an NXT Superstar, not for an NXT card.

While From NXT to WWE can only be packed by an NXT Superstar, it doesn't appear to have the NXT logo (unless I missed a revision that isn't being displayed in Lackey).

The word NXT in the title of the card is also just a word, not the logo.

So for Xavier Woods and Bayley, does it not count as an NXT card?

Find this old promo poster for Vengeance. It names Mick Foley and Adam Copeland as decks. Obviously, a more straightforward renaming for Adam, than recasting Mick. :)

Fantasy Cards / Re: Request: Usos with updated art

Flat Rate Postage
Can only be played if you have at least 2 different cards in your Ring with either the same printed Fortitude or sane printed Damage, # is equal to that value.
F: # D: #

If It Fits, It Ships
Prematch Event
Once per turn, you may discard 1 card then search your Arsenal for a card with Fortitude equal to your Fortitude. If Flat Rate Postage is in your Ring, instead search for any card with Fortitude less than or equal to your Fortitude.

Overnight Air
High Risk
Can only be played after a successfully played maneuver, or as a Counter (High Risk).
When successfully played, your opponent overturns cards until he reveals a maneuver. If this Maneuver is not reversed, your next card played this turn may be that card, your Fortitude is considered equal to the printed Fortitude of that card, and you can ignore any "Can only be played..." text (even if that card has the RMS symbol).

Thanks for the cover, Tim. :)

I just want to follow up by saying that the virtual Usos are fantastic looking cards, and in no way a problem. I find that I am enjoying their Day One(ish) gimmick more than the original gimmick and was simply working to that.

Just want to be clear: I am grateful for the hard work the virtual team does for this game and the amazing cards they make for us. I was just making a request based on my very specific tastes.

Knowing that the request was inappropriate, it is obviously withdrawn.

Looking forward to the new Holiday set.

Does anyone with the skills to make good looking cards want to create alternate art for the USPS featuring their new(ish) gimmick?

I can try to help wrangle images, but lack the programs to make nice looking cards.

Rules Forum / The New Foundation, Springboard, and Strikes
« on: December 08, 2017, 07:46:56 PM »
Trying to decipher timing:

The Hart Dynasty: "...discard 1 card and play 1 card from hand face-down ... choose 1 Set-up card in your Backstage Area, and your played card gains the text and title of the chosen card ..."

The New Foundation: "... your non-Unique non-High-Risk maneuvers without 'reversed' in the text are -4F when played after a face-down card..."

Springboard(TB): " is instead considered a High Risk maneuver played after the card titled Irish Whip."

I use the Hart Dynasty's ability and play a card as Springboard. I want to follow it with, say, Running Clothesline (TB) (printed 12F, but per its text -7F when played after Irish Whip). How much Fortitude do I need? I understand I get the -7F discount from the Clothesline, but is it a Strike or High Risk for purposes of The New Foundation?

AJ cannot pack 4D+ Grapples. But she can pack High-Flying Style and therefore Cruiserweight Style Action, which reads:

"... Your non-Throwback Japanese Arm Drag is -6F and High Risk..."

As printed, non-TB JAD is a 4D Grapple.

So does CSA get around her ability's restriction against 4D+ Grapples for JAD?
