So you cant no chance a fans love? Even though it specifically says:" as a midmatch action" seems odd.
Nate, where you at? :p

As a Mid-match Action is an old term used to signal an Activated Card Effect. They do not count as an Action being played, or any card being played. So you could still play something that "Can only be played after successfully played maneuver", if you played a move and then Activated Fans Love an Underdog.

Taken from the OmniFAQ:

"-Reversal cards may only be played on your opponent’s turn.  This also applies to reversal effects."

There are some reversal cards that take effect during the Pre-match, but it has to say so.

General Chat / Re: [NO SPOILERS] Black Panther

When it was over, I wasn't completely sold on the film. I had only seen the trailers for it and nothing more, so the departure from the usual Marvel films caught me off guard. Now that I've been able to sleep on it, I can agree it was a great film. Good story beats that had substance behind them. The antagonist had motive that you could believe but a route that you wouldn't agree with. I would recommend anyone to go see this film. It addresses issues that society faces today, and I feel has something that can change the Marvel Universe going forward.

I'm a few hours East in Albany

Albany is reasonably far from us too, I would not object to a trip up there on occasion too  8)

Send a PM if you ever make the trip. There's only one other guy out here lol

I live 3 hours away from both of you. I don't mind traveling but to go to Canada do I need to get a passport? I could also take a trip to Albany I have never been there before. I would like to see what's in Albany.

You will need a passport to come to Canada.
If you ever feel like coming up, give us some notice and we can try to make an event out of it with some cool prizing to try and get more people up here.

I've been a fan of running Backlash still in this environment, it will catch people off guard.
Fortitude Surge is a must pack in our playgroup. You'll get the occasional surprise plunging deck and you can't always justify having a Frankie Take Hollywood in your Ring area.
If you have issues with those hard to reverse maneuvers like Clutch/Apply, Shake/Poke or Chains consider This Is Going To Be an Old School Brawl. Stops the second one in a turn, blanks it and it stays in his Ring. Does 2D and he randomly discards 2 cards.

It sure does! This is addressed in the Virtual FAQ as well
“This term replaces the phrase 'When you reversed a card to end your opponent's turn and this is the first card played on your turn...’l

You’re right. The faq says that you can only pack one of any card, not that cards are unique like I had thought. Thanks for the correction.

Yes, it's legal.  Neither card is a Throwback, so that rule doesn't apply.

Weird that the names are so similar, but no issues.

CREED

Off topic from the question, but a follow up to the Throwback mention.
With a Superstar card being Unique and considered to have the same name as the card title, is the Throwback necessary for this rule to take effect?

I found the ruling you’re rwferring to here.
http://teamcanadaonline.net///index.php/topic,10168.msg122318.html#msg122318

Neither FAQ covers this and there’s nothing that states in the Omni FAQ when the game was produced by Comic Images about the illegality of this interaction.

Saw Hogtrail reply as I was typing this up. The Omni FAQ has his name with a space.
“Shane O’ Mac
-This superstar is not “Shane McMahon” and has no appropriate text, receiving no bonus from Here Comes the Money.”

Nothing on either card states that it cannot be packed.
Shame O Mac can even be Managed by Shane O Mac.

For classic decks what I would do is a reversal suite of step/escape/break or reach, or revos. 12 0F maneuvers to help get the early game in and build from there.

12 Base Reversals and 12 0F maneuvers.  Do most decks pack that suite?  I'm sure the makeup of the deck depends, e.g. back to basics etc.

A reversal suite will differ depending on your deck style. I like the step/escape with a submission reversal of choice and start with Nerve Hold and Leg Drag as my main hybrids as reversals.

Find some old starter deck lists or take a look at the Classic deck review forum to get familiar with how some people construct decks. Trial and error and seeing what you like is a big factor too.

He wouldn’t be able to use reversals that reverse multi maneuvers, but it would still need two legal reversals to the maneuver types.

My query is in that, it wouldn't be a legal play to play 2 reversals against a non multi maneuver.

E.g. You played punch, I play 2 Step Aside to reverse

It isn't any different than a card saying "Can only be reversed from Arsenal."

The effect here is creating a Reversal Restriction, seen in the FAQ:
Quote
Reversal Restriction
-A reversal restriction is any card, Ability, or effect that modifies the reversibility of a card. EXAMPLE: Turn the Tide adds a reversal restriction to the maneuver following it. Diesel-Powered Sidewalk Slam has a reversal restriction if it is played after a Superstar-specific card. The Chain trait is a reversal restriction.

I understand what you mean about it being a non-multi maneuver you can't play two reversals to it. The Timing Breakdown has a section for this phrasing.
Quote
5b If you played a card with Multi, targeted opponent may play or generate a second reversal after the first reversal has completed all effects and damage.

The card text on Calf Crusher would supersede the existing rule in this case.
