The Stylin' Strut
Mid-match Action
This card is considered non-Unique for The Best Thing Going Today.
When your Fortitude Rating is 15 or more and this card is in your Backlash, after successfully playing a maneuver and damage is resolved, you may put this card into your Ring.  Your opponent may discard 3 reversals; if he does, your turn ends.  If he does not, you may draw 3 cards or search your Arsenal or Ringside for a card with 'whoo' in the title, reveal it, put it into your hand, and shuffle your Arsenal; and the next card played this turn is considered to have 'chop' in the title.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique

This may be a case of mis-wording, but when this card goes into play there doesn’t seem to be an effect to go with it because of the break after the first sentence. Is the intent to have everything go off after it finds its way into play?

The tail end of this year saw a resurgence of Raw Deal in the community and here’s to more growth this year. It looks like there are some pretty cool things coming. New cards, big tournaments and a positive group of players from around the globe.

I hope everyone has a wonderful 2019 and gets in plenty of games.

Just picked it up and can’t wait. Some things to do around the house before digging into it.

The Joker Persona 5 announcement came out of left field and now it really feels like anyone can be in this game.

Rules Forum / Re: "From a card"
« on: October 26, 2018, 05:30:43 AM »
I can see how this would be confusing, so think of it like this:

Card A granted card B a trait. The trait granted gives card B a reversal restriction, but the restriction still comes from the trait, not the card that granted the trait in the first place.

Does that make more sense?

Wording makes sense, but I’m not really following the logic. If card A isn’t played at all, there’s no restriction, so certainly the card A has to cause the restriction, regardless of what the restriction is?

Restriction comes from a trait. The trait comes from a card.

Okay I know the first rule of Fight Club is.... we're not supposed to talk about Fight ... But has there been any word on when we can expect this next virtual set to be released?

Nothing has been said anywhere else. It’ll likely be shared here or a new post once it’s known.

We’ve got our next episode up with an hour long conversation with Mike Foley about the history of the game and more.

I had the chance to speak with Mike Foley for the Backlash podcast and gives us a special reveal of something he's been working on that in the early stages.

Trumped UpDeal is using a slightly modified Raw Deal engine to pit political figures up against each other. Is this something you would be interested trying out? Give the page a look and show your support if you would like to play this game.

We had some juicy spoilers on the Backlash Podcast's latest episode! Would Eric and Scott put up the text version of the potential cards we might have in the set (I say potential since we can't be sure it's the final version of the cards that will be released :P)

EDIT - Since getting home I've checked it out and there are no issues. The problem is with my phone.

Whenever I click on a Superstar in the Index I keep getting booted out and have to sign in. When I sign back in I’m taken to the main Forum page and it’s continuing cycle. Not sure if it’s been noticed yet.

Virtual Raw Deal / Re: quadrunner
« on: August 05, 2018, 07:55:14 PM »
Be sure to include card text when asking question as reference.

Sheriff Austin's Quad-Runner
Pre-match Object
Cannot be blanked.
You start the game.
Your opponent's Fortitude Rating is considered -10 for playing Run-ins or cards with 'interfere' in the title. Your actions with "GM" in the text (without 'draw segment' text) are -10F and can only be reversed by Unique reversals.
Discard and overturn 1 less card for Can of Beer; when that card is Activated, the effect cannot be reversed.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent

This card affects opponents fortitude rating instead of the card so opponent cannot use Fortitude Surge or Frankie Takes Hollywood to limit fortitude modification to his Manager Interferes.

These Superstar cards are looking great! Major props to the designers.

Congrats on the win Scott.

"7. Roll out of the Ring was a lot more important in the early game than many people may realize "

Eric would agree it's still very important lol

Staple card! Just as important in the early game as the late game.

Rules Forum / Re: Passing your action playing pre-match cards.
« on: July 12, 2018, 06:04:17 PM »
Pre-match phase ends once both players skip.
From the Rulebook:

"Pre-match Phase
After the Superstars are revealed, the Pre-match phase begins. This is the only time you can play Pre-match cards. They are played alternately, starting with the Superstar with the highest Superstar Value. You may not play more than 4 Pre-match cards but you can play less or none at all. The Pre-match phase ends when both players pass consecutively during step 4 of the
Pre-match phase.

The Pre-match Phase looks like this:
1. Play a Pre-match Feud
2. Play a Pre-match Stipulation
3. Play a Pre-match Manager
4. Play any remaining Pre-match cards.
5. Draw your Hand Size
6. End of Pre-match Phase."
