Virtual Raw Deal / It's D-D-P and Self High-Five
« on: May 27, 2018, 03:24:50 PM »
It looks like the last line of Self High-Five limits the effectiveness of It's Me... It's Me... It's D-D-P.  Was the intent for It's D-D-P to be less than fully effective when packed with Self High-Five?

Self High-Five!
Pre-match Event
Cannot be blanked. Can be played during any Pre-match phase.
Your first Action played each turn from hand that is Fan Favorite, or is Cheater and 3F-, is Multi and can only be reversed by 2 reversal cards. Your opponent cannot play The Road to Victory in response to your Cheater or Fan Favorite cards.
Your maneuvers can only receive a maximum of +4D and/or +2 Stun Value increase from other cards.

Shuffle up to # cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal, and your maneuvers are +#D and -#F for the rest of this turn, where # is equal to the number of Cheater cards in your Ring and cannot be greater than 8; when you have a Fan Favorite card in your Ring, # is equal to double the number of Fan Favorite and DDP-Specific cards in your Ring and cannot be greater than 16.

Rules Forum / Live Sex Celebration and Edge's SHS
« on: May 27, 2018, 11:39:41 AM »
Does blanking Edge's superstar ability with Love Sex Celebration make his starting hand size 0?

Edge
Starting Hand Size: #     Superstar Value: 3
Superstar Ability: # is equal to twice your opponent's Superstar Value. # cannot be less than 6. You start the game after the Pre-match phase. When you successfully play the card titled Faceplant, you may shuffle up to 4 cards from your Ringside pile into your Arsenal. When you successfully play the card titled You Think You Know Me?, do not discard any cards.
PRO, BL, SS2, SS3

Live Sex Celebration     (Edge logo)
Backstage Card
Can only be packed by Edge. When packing this card, you can pack up to 3 Liason with Lita cards in your Backstage (they are not Cheater), and at the end of the Pre-match phase, put those cards into your Backlash.  You can only play 1 of those cards during any turn, and when you have lower Fortitude he cannot respond to it.
Your Ability is blank, and when you search for Roll Out of the Ring, you may also search for any Unique card.
During your turn when 3 copies of Liason With Lita are in your Ring, you may remove them from the game and then shuffle up to 8 cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal.

Rules Forum / Re: Backstage + Shawn Michael Superstar Ability
« on: January 20, 2018, 03:19:52 PM »
It is probably worth noting that Mr. Hall of Fame no longer blanks Shawn's ability.

Mr. Hall of Fame
Backstage Card
Can only be packed by Shawn Michaels.
Do not discard for The Legend Lives On, when that card is in your Ring, it is blank.
When you do not have a Corner or Storyline in your Ring and your Superstar-specific card is unsuccessful, you may put 1 Superstar-specific card that is a maneuver or an action from your Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal (or in your Backlash, if applicable), and draw up to 2 cards.

The Expendables is listed under Two Man Power Trip.

The Expendables    (Sheriff Austin + Stone Cold Steve Austin logos)
Action: Movie
Put up to 6 cards from your Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal, draw 1 card, and your opponent overturns 3 cards.
When you are a GM, this card is -6F, and when successfully played, you may hide 1 Enforcer card; if you do, he overturns 3 additional cards.

Really appreciate all the work that went into the new set and all the previous sets as well. Would it be possible to do something for the Rhodes Bros. in the superstar guide similar to what was done for Phenom with an either - or listing for the Cody Rhodes and Stardust specifics? Right now Rhodes Bros only shows Cody stuff and the new backstage.

Virtual Raw Deal / Re: Virtual 8 (A) Spoilers
« on: August 25, 2017, 01:46:10 PM »
I have a question about The American Dream.  I understand that being able to play a F:0, D:9 high risk (Elbow Drop) or F:0, D:10 strike with reversal restrictions (Bionic Elbow) right off the bat may be a bit over powered but what is the point of making Elbow Drop and Bionic Elbow F:0 if they require things to be performed before them?  I don't me to sound disrespectful, I just seem to be missing something.

The American Dream
Backstage Card
When you draw 1+ cards during your Draw Segment, your first maneuver with 'classic' in the title played this turn is -#F, where # is equal to the number of cards drawn. When you draw 0 cards during your Draw Segment, your first maneuver with 'classic' in the title played this turn is +2D.
Your Elbow Drop and Bionic Elbow cards are F: 0, +2D, and replace 'Buh-Buh Ray Dudley' with 'Dusty Rhodes' in the text.

Elbow Drop
High Risk
Can only be played after a successfully played 4D maneuver or greater maneuver.
When successfully played, you may draw 1 card.

Cannot be reversed from your opponent's Backlash deck.
If played by Buh Buh Ray Dudley, reversals to this card are +10F

Looking at what Lionheart can pack of the older Jericho cards, does that mean that we will be seeing a Lionsault TB?

I feel a card shared between Val and Shamrock reference the classic film Saving Ryan's Privates would hit the nostalgia spot. ;D

« on: August 12, 2017, 08:52:15 PM »
Does Legendary Guest Host's effect on Unique manuevers prevent them from being played if you also have There is No Escape in play?

There Is No Escape
Pre-match Feud
All players' maneuvers cannot be reversed by non-Superstar-specific hybrid Reversal cards. Your maneuvers also cannot be reversed from your opponent's Backlash deck.
Your maneuvers are +2 Stun Value.
You cannot play non-unique maneuvers not titled Arm Bar, Arm Bar Takedown, Arm Drag, Atomic Drop, Belly to Back Suplex, Belly to Belly Suplex, Body Slam, Chop, Clothesline, Collar & Elbow Lockup, Drop Kick, Haymaker, Head Butt, Hip Toss, Press Slam, Punch, Roundhouse Punch, Russian Leg Sweep, Snap Mare, Vertical Suplex, Wrist Lock, Backhand Slap, Drop Toe Hold, Elbow Drop, Foot Stomp, or Hammerlock.

Legendary Guest Host
Backstage Card

So just to clarify that I an ready this correctly, when played as an action you would play this card from Backlash, it would exist temporarily in a different zone, then be put back into the Backlash draw a card?

A Punch That Would Take Someone's Head Off - Throwback
Mid-match Strike / Action
As a maneuver, your opponent discards 1 random card.
As an action, this card is F: 0, put this card in your Backlash and draw 1 card.  You cannot play this card as an action for the rest of the turn.

I have not played with Ric before since I didn't play pre-sale and have not acquired him yet, but I am curious what the advantage of playing Ric Flair over The Nature Boy is given the changes to Ric's ability that have been imposed via Shenanigans?

Rules Forum / Get Softcore Question
« on: May 31, 2017, 03:37:39 AM »
Probably a RTFC question, but do you have to have another Superstar card on top of Dude Love to put in the ringside in order to play Get Softcore?  The card seems to imply that but doesn't say you have to put a card in ringside in order to play it.

Get Softcore!
You must put 1 Superstar card on top of the Dude Love Superstar card into your Ringside pile.
When this card is in your Ring area, all players’ maneuvers are -3D.

Deck Reviews - Classic / Re: Small package deck

One option I have seen is running B.A. Billy Gunn to tutor for the small packages, using Best Surprises to make small packages permanent and according to the contract table for a bit more consistency.

Three Ain't Enough!
Backstage Card
You may replace '3' with '5' in the text of your other Superstar-specific cards.
At the start of each of your turns when you have 3- cards in hand, you may skip your Draw Segment and draw until you have 5 cards in hand.
Unique     RMS logo

BIG E
Starting Hand Size: 5     Superstar Value: 3
Superstar Ability: When you have equal or lower Fortitude, your opponent must overturn 5 cards to play reversals from hand to your printed F: 5 or printed D: 5 maneuvers.
You can pack No Sell Maneuver and As Big and Tough as Any Two Men, and you are considered to be Kane for its effect. You cannot pack Corners.
VHS2

Probably a RTFC question but are superstar cards considered superstar-specific? More specifically, does the replacement of 3 with 5 on superstar-specific cards apply to Big E's superstar value?

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Superstar Spotlight: Kevin Owens

1.)  How viable is this superstar?
Extremely viable.  He can do just about anything you want him to.

2.)  Is there a Superstar Specific Card that you'd like to spotlight?
Controlling the Pace of the Match
Mid-match Action
During your opponent's turn, before his Draw Segment, you may put this card from your Backlash into your Ring and end his turn; when it was not the first turn of the game, draw up to 2 cards.
ACE: During your turn when this card is in your Ring, you may overturn 2 cards, and then discard up to 2 cards, put the same number of cards +1 from your Ringside into your hand, and remove this card from the game.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     NXT logo
VHS2

This card can single-handedly put an end to the game.  Especially when used after you have cleared Divine Intervention with a Pop-Up Powerbomb.  Oh you thought you were safe, lets just end your turn and hit you with it again.

3.)  How have you built said superstar?  How did it work out?
I built him Heel, using a Flawless Transition opening and cards like Spinning Toe Hold, etc. that could build a fortitude base to race to Pop-Up Powerbomb.  Once I hit Pop-up Powerbomb, I pitched Steel Chain Shots to put it back in hand.  Lather, Rinse, Repeat.  The game I play tested him, I was facing a No Escape deck so I lost access to my backlash reversals but KO didn't really feel hampered by it.

4.)  How well does the Superstar fare in whichever format you built them in be it VC/VAA/NXT/VR/Non-Virtual?
I haven't branched out to NXT or anything involving Revo, but I think he is a serious threat in VC and probably would be in other formats as well.

5.)  Final Thoughts on this Superstar?
One of my favorites to pilot so far.  He is so versatile that  you could build him any which way you wanted and have a good chance to come out on top.

Thanks for all the time and effort that was put into this!

Just out of curiosity, why does Queen's Crossbow specifically state it cannot be packed by The Rhodes Bros? I can't see any reason why that would be possible if the statement wasn't there.

The Queen's Crossbow
Trademark Finisher
Cannot be packed by The Rhodes Brothers.
Can be played from your Backstage Area.
Can only be played after a 3D+ maneuver or as a Counter, and when successfully played, your opponent puts 4 random cards from his hand on the bottom of his Arsenal.
When this card is in your hand or Ringside and you successfully play a Stardust-specific card, you may put this card in your Backstage Area and draw 1 card.

The Rhodes Brothers
Starting Hand Size: 7     Superstar Value: 3
Tag Team Superstar Ability: Once during any player's turn before playing a Superstar-specific card, you may remove 1 Backlash card from your Backlash or Ring from the game, and then ignore the 'Can only be played...' or 'Set-up' text on the played card.
You can pack Goldust and Cody Rhodes non-Foreign Object cards in your Arsenal; you cannot pack any Title Belts except the Tag Team Title Belts, or Corners.

A backstage for Miz about him mocking Daniel Bryan and letting him pack the maneuvers that he has "adopted" may be interesting. Probably not something that could be looked at balance-wise for the holiday set, but if he keeps it up long enough it might be something to look at.

A Foundation of Old School Wrestling
Pre-match Event
Can be played during any Pre-match Phase.
When Back to Basics is in your Ring, your Pre-match and Mid-match Capacity is +1, and your opponent's cards cannot prevent you from playing cards with 'old school' in the title.
ACE: When playing a maneuver from under Back to Basics 'as if from hand' and you do not have a Face card in your Ring, his non-F: 0 reversals to it are +#F, where # is the number of Heel cards in your Ring; once during each of your turns, you may also remove 1 Old School Beating in your Ring from the game and then # is doubled and your maneuver is -#F.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent     RMS logo

The bold text is part of the ACE but what activates the ACE?  Do you just state you're using the ACE when you play a maneuver from under B2B?  Does reversal of this ACE end the turn or does the played maneuver have to be resolved first?
