Virtual Raw Deal / Re: Virtual 7 Preview Thread
« on: June 25, 2015, 08:12:10 AM »
Is We're Here meant to interact with all "break" cards or really any cards other than Ï'm Gonna Break You?

Not hugely important, but interesting with a few cards if so. Sometimes in a good way (Double Underhook Back Breaker, Knee Breaker tb) and other times is a negative (Break It Out..., Unbreakable Chain).

Lets flip that around:

What if someone uses their superstar specific tech to get off the ground, then spends the entire game poke/shake/clutch followed by cards like Diving Takedown (protected by Vickie ofc)

At least cards like Dirty Low Blow (TB) and Shoot Lockup are only protected when you are behind. P/S/C is protected for the duration of one of Adam Rose's parties, which is all the damn time.

Over Sells and/or actually packing Escape Move, Step Aside and Reach for the Ropes/Strangle Hold. Which then gives you a chance to respond with your superstar-specific tech or your own Panic + P/S/C, DLB, etc. to gain your initial fortitude hopefully allowing you a chance to play your own "broken" combo of irreversible cards. For Backed by Vickie, pack Old School Wrestling Match and The Old Switcheroo (forces Managed by Vickie and/or learning from Finlay) or just build a BASH deck they have tons of reversals to hit stuff played with Vickie.

On to an actual revision topic then, could something be done to make Dean Malenko a WCW superstar? I have no idea if for balancing reasons it shouldn't be done, but when messing with various builds of him recently I was surprised to find that he wasn't actually WCW and his WCW logo backstage card didn't make him a WCW Superstar either.

I just want to put it out there that I am against creating more reversals that reverse something that can't be reversed (Poke/Shake/Clutch/etc.). If people are really having such a hard time with it then they should just pack Over Sells instead of Revos (or maybe even you know pack Step Aside or Escape Move instead).

The game is already bogged down in trying to play stuff that can't be reversed and at times I don't know why I try to do anything other than Mean Gene.

People seem to want to reverse everything their opponent ever plays and never allow them to get any fortitude. Which necessitates creating cards like Mean Gene/etc. that just create more cards that can't be reversed (or now "responded to") in order to have any chance of getting a single fortitude. People need to just accept that their opponent might play a card or two that they can't reverse and that their opponent might just be able to get off the ground and have a chance.

We should be trying to make more old cards playable and make the game more interactive through the invent of the Virtual cards. Instead people seem to crave scenarios where they get to play out their decks with no interaction from their opponent who has no chance of interacting as they are stuck at 0 fortitude the whole game.

If the game needs anything it is even more options for getting your initial fortitude. Creating a new virtual reversal for Poke/Shake/etc. just removes a way to do this.

Rules Forum / Keeping My Identity a Secret + Running Lariat?
« on: March 24, 2014, 11:16:45 AM »
Keeping My Identity a Secret     (Hurricane logo)
Backstage Card
Cannot be packed by The Hurri-friends.
When packing this card, you may pack The Hurri-Friends’ Armory, it cannot be blanked, and it Unique instead of Universally Active.
Replace the 'Strike, Grapple, or Submission' with 'non-Trademark Finisher' on your To the Hurricycle! cards.
When your Fortitude Rating is 7 or less and you have no more than one maneuver type in your Ring, your non-Unique maneuvers can only be reversed by D: 0 reversals.
Unique     RMS logo

Running Lariat
Cannot be reversed by the card titled Elbow to the Face.
Reversals to this card are +2D.
When reversed from your opponent's hand, if the first card played on his next turn is a maneuver, it cannot be reversed.
F:  0      D: 6

Does the timing work to make the Running Lariat only reversible by RMS D:0 reversals and cards like It's Great to be Back Here In...?

Ok, I know The Peep Show will reduce the overturn from the Aggression Rule in Revo Format by 3, but will it also reduce the overturn from the throwback version of Old School Wrestling Match by 3?

That might be the only ones, but even three might be worth doing.  Are there any others I'm missing?

Sit Right Here and Bide My Time

... is the other, though kind of useless, would be better off dropping in Pyrotechnic Volley/High Fives/<R> A New Plan/etc.

Text of The Champ:
Reduce the number of cards moved from your Ringside to your Arsenal by your non-maneuver cards or card effects to 0.

Text of <R> I'm Tougher Than Nails:
Put all cards from your Ringside into your hand: shuffle all cards from your hand into your Arsenal except for 2.

The Champ should have no effect on <R> I'm Tougher Than Nails.

Classic Raw Deal / Re: All Axxcess Bannings?

One more person I've been wondering about and haven't heard anything about is Vince McMahon. Anyone have any insight on how the decks fair against him (his ability/cards don't hurt to the point of say HotN/Rattlesnake, but I think you could build him to beat the decks and still have shot against the field).

Classic Raw Deal / Re: All Axxcess Bannings?
« on: August 21, 2007, 07:28:56 AM »
If you're asking about "Balls"... Here you go:

Deck Contains Something Like This:
<R> Full Nelson Slam x3
<TB> Back Body Drop x3
Thrust Knee Lift x3
Shoot Headlock/<TB> Knife Edge Chop x3
Technical Drop Kick x8-10
Technical Crab x3
Technical Clothesline x2
Technical Slam x2
Whatever Other Cards Are Good In The Build Of The Deck (Power is Back/Up and At 'Em/Eugune Gump/Brave H/Mania/Etc.)

Step by Step

1: Overturn your deck using Full Nelson Slams + Headlock/Chop
2: Pick up your TDK's using Back Body Drop
3: Thrust Knee Lifts on bottom
4: Tech Clothesline away their hand
5: Tech Crab in whatever else you need to play, then use Full Nelson Slam + Back Body Drop/Thrust Knee Lift to setup draws using Tech Slam
6: Repeat until your opponent cannot do anything
7: Use Tech Crab a/o Eugune Gump, Brave H/Test of Strength/Mania x2, or whatever for the kill

Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: Chris Benoit...dead?
« on: June 26, 2007, 01:47:21 PM »
All I can say is I hope people can seperate his professional career from this tragic incident.

Chris Benoit the performer/wrestler was great.
Chris Benoit the man "may" be found to not be that great.

I will look at him the same way I look at O.J. Simpson and hope others can do the same. The Running Back O.J. Simpson was great, the man O.J. Simpson I'm not too sure about.

And I'd say... hmm... The Urn in Undertaker... huh??? If you can explain why you need The Urn with your ability, I might reconsider it, but too many times in the past I've had this happen: Opp. plays maneuver 1st turn, take damage, ARotM on overturn, put it on Urn, my turn attempt to draw off Urn (don't try'd), and I lose the next turn with my 4 card hand.

Fantasy Cards / Re: Funny fantasy cards
« on: March 30, 2007, 03:55:17 PM »
I don't know, I don't think that most of these are that broken... no more so than Piper and Piper's Pit, Ken Kennedy, Andre and his cards, It's All About The Game, Cerebral Assassin, Managed by Jimmy Hart, Shoot Counter, Etc.

anyways my thoughts on the cards...

The Greatest of All Time: first needs to be Universally Unique, and might cause a meta where decks are just battling to get it in play first, no different than any other silver bullet we already have. I think making it a Pre-Match Event would balance it enough to get made (becomes another I Want To Play The Game target).

Get that weak sh!t out!: ok this is broken, but let's say it get's changed to -10 if your opponent has 10 or more fortitude than you... how about then?

Actions!  All Actions!: I see this card as balanced. Actions aren't as playable as they used to be, and what deck is going to give up their prematch to get 1D on their actions.

It's About Time: Broken but is it anymore broken than Let Me Get A Shot In+Mr. PPV,BFM, Eddie, or Shock the World, a little modification and it'd be fine, I don't know what changes to make to it though.

That's a Cheating Deck: fine as it is, would make people play Fan Favorite and/or Face more, I've been seeing way too much Heel/Cheater lately.

Why do I even bother?: put a maximum on it (say 5) or just change it to your opponent discards 1 for every 2 you put in your hand and it would be fine.

I recommend to anyone interested in this go and watch George Carlin's famous seven dirty words act (don't know if he's done it recently but it's great to see even the old performances), don't know where you'll find it but it shouldn't be that hard to find.

I actually did a project on it too in like 8th Grade if only I could remember some of that... I think alot of it has to with the Puritan background in the US and then other countries trying to be the same as the US... but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyways I'm kind of in a sleep-deprived half-awake state right now so I can't think straight and that's about all I can remember.

Fantasy Cards / Re: Non-Revolution CM Punk

You could always change "Straight Edge" to an event and then add the "I'm Better Than You" text to his ability (though that does open up "Straigt Edge" to being blanked by Piper).

And here are the two aforementioned cards (though I had no clue what to do for Welcome to Chicago, Motherf***a! so it might be a little too good)

Pepsi Plunge (Ultra Rare - CM Punk logo)
Trademark Finisher + High Risk
This card is -20F if played after the card "From the Top Rope".
Can only be played after a successfully played 5D or greater maneuver, or the card titled Throw Into the Corner Turnbuckle, or if you reversed a card to end your opponent's last turn and this is your first card played this turn.
You cannont play this card against "Triple H", "The Game", "Degeneration-X", or "Two Man Power Trip".
F: 30 D: 25

Welcome to Chicago, Motherf***a! (Premium Rare - CM Punk logo)
Mid-match Grapple + Grapple
You may only play this card if there isn't a venue card in any player's ring area.
Your opponent cannot play reversal cards to this card if this is the first non-Pre-match card played in the game.
