Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: [SPOILERS] The Draft!

Finn on Raw!  ;D

A little sad that Bayley is not promoted but Carmella and Jax are.

Still curious on how championship belts will work with brand split this time. At least I can see US and Intercontinental being exclusive for each brand, but what about others? Will there be more brand-exclusive belts like the last time?

Have anyone seen this epic match between Jeff "Brother Nero" Hardy vs "Broken" Matt Hardy yet?

The full list is up:

Unless you draft this set, it will be as much of a gamble as Modern Master to just open packs.

It is so unfortunate that WWE won't push Nakamura to the main roster right away for many reasons (style changes, language barrier, etc.) He has already make a pretty big impact that even his NXT theme is no.1 on iTunes already.

Yep, they are reprinting Force of Will, and, according to rumors, many Legacy and Modern staples.

Also, there is another rumor that there will be a new constructed format.

Dealers are buying out Legacy staples that are in the reserved list right now. We will see how things go.

It's good to be a famous movie director's son, having an access to have all those cameos and hot chicks in his works.

Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: [SPOILERS] Royal Rumble Results
« on: January 25, 2016, 10:27:52 AM »
The only major complaint about this Rumble is that the end result is very predictable, but what else can WWE do with all these injuries? Pushing Trips himself, of course!

AJ debut is quite well-done, but Michael Cole could have explained  to the audience on who he is a bit better. He made it sounds like everybody already knows him despite TNA being non-existence in WWE's point of view.

"Bálor Club" has been around for a while, they've been selling those T-shirts for a couple months now.

CREED
I haven't followed NXT that closely and thought Balor was still in his original gimmick. Thanks for the correction.  :P

Okay, WWE just give Finn "Prince Devitt" Balor what it seems to be a Bullet Club ripoff, naming "Balor Club", at the recent NXT taping.

Those along Mauro Ranallo, the former voice of American broadcasting of NJPW, is now Smackdown play-by-play announcer.

This is pretty much an NJPW raid.

Professional Wrestling Discussion / NJPW stars coming to WWE?
« on: January 06, 2016, 12:50:33 PM »
There is a big rumor that AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Doc Gallows and Kyle Anderson, top stars of NJPW all have given a notice of leaving the company and are expected to sign with WWE, per Meltzer and other sources. Triple H has already responded to the rumor denying to comment.

Two of the best pro wrestlers in the world today, Styles and Nakamura, joining the big league? Hell yes!

Congrats to Roman Reigns for finally earning it, from one of the toughest crowd in America nonetheless.

From now til Royal Rumble could be the lowest point of WWE in the last decade with Cena's absence and Reigns and Sheamus as the flagship feud.

Rousey had never been tested by fighters with legit striking skills yet til last night where she got one that is also bigger and has a longer reach in Holm. Holm also executed her gameplan very well as well as Rousey couldn't ground her at all in round 1 plus a bunch of punches in return.

Plus Rousey refused to do a glove touch yet again. Talk about eating a humble pie.

Haters, a lot of them, should be very happy.

I was away and let autodraft did the job for about half of the draft. It actually did well enough for me to add the rest up where I want.

1. (2) Stephen Curry (GS - PG,SG)
2. (15) Serge Ibaka (OKC - PF,C)
3. (18) LaMarcus Aldridge (SA - PF,C)
4. (31) Hassan Whiteside (Mia - C)
5. (34) Pau Gasol (Chi - PF,C)
6. (47) Kyle Korver (Atl - SG,SF)
7. (50) DeMar DeRozan (Tor - SG,SF)
8. (63) Nicolas Batum (Cha - SG,SF)
9. (66) Ricky Rubio (Min - PG)
10. (79) Isaiah Thomas (Bos - PG)
11. (82) Michael Carter-Williams (Mil - PG)
12. (95) Gorgui Dieng (Min - PF,C)
13. (98) Wilson Chandler (Den - SG,SF)

Pretty much betting on scoring and 3pt shooting.

This is interesting since I have zero experience with virtual stuffs. I will try to making one.

edit: Just noticed it is on Saturday, which I can't attend  :-[

My preference would be not to cut anyone, and for someone to turn up at the last, but I'm very much a "set and forget" owner, so if there's no other way to get to an even number, I'll volunteer to bow out.

I signed up, so we have 8 now.
Awesome!

See you guys tonight at the draft room, 10PM Eastern. Also, the draft order will be randomized so please don't complain if you get 7th.  ;D

Isn't there a cut-off time for drafts, in order to have the first week's points count towards our overall totals?

I was all ready to draft today, but if we have to wait until tomorrow, is there any way we can move it to 10PM Eastern instead?  That would give me just enough time to get home from work and participate in the live draft. ;D
Will do.

Anyway, if we can't find the 8th team by 9PM tonight, I will sadly have to cut Justin's Grand Team out so the league can run.

Unfortunately, the draft has to be moved to tomorrow, at the same original time, 9PM Eastern.

Maybe we can get one more team by then.

Still looking for 1 more team. Otherwise, I will either postpone the draft to tomorrow or kick the latest team to join out. I don't prefer the latter.

edit: I extend it for 1 hour and a half. 10:30PM Eastern. Let's see if it can be run by that time.

John Cena's political power seems to be as powerful as WCW's Hulk Hogan nowadays, maybe deservedly so but still. At least it hasn't gone to a full-blown level that would ruin the company.
