Virtual Raw Deal / Re: The state of Raw Deal going into 2020
« on: February 09, 2020, 01:12:07 AM »
Thanks for the kind words.

It's difficult to bring in new players who want to try the game for the first time, and we're also visiting various ideas to make that easier for people.

A big part of the game was local game play, due to the game not having a method for online play when it was actively being made by Comic Images. We're hoping Regional Tournaments will help this by giving players the excitement of a large scale event, exclusive prizing and playing people they wouldn't normally play against.

I am a former RD player from Los Angeles who's downloaded and printed virtual cards so I can play with my brother, but I'd love to play other people around the world if possible.

After the terrific match put out by Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax I am so looking forward to her inclusion to VRD.  Hope Creed will do her justice!

Now that Ronda Rousey has officially joined WWE I want to see her being incorporated into the virtual RD, if not for the upcoming set then sometime this year.

I am sure we did.  I used to play a guy there by the name of Super Jew (his online forum handle)  Don't know if he's still around.

I used to play with the various SoCal crews back in the day, at Burbank at King's and also at Porter Ranch in the defunct game store there that folded several years back. But I live in Santa Monica now.

There are 2-3 guys that live in Covina in SGV that are on these boards, but not for a bit.  You may want to PM them.

WC Champ and unknownsoldier_78

Thanks.  I used to play at the the shop in Burbank too.  I love the way they introduce each match with the theme music of the wrestler. I would love to find a local group to test my decks with.  I'll be PMing these two.  Thanks again.

I've been incorporating virtual cards into my Raw Deal collection (which took a beating since I stupidly dumped majority of commons and uncommons, and accidentally several foils and SS cards into the trash after I got married) over the past several months, but haven't had chance to play them yet because I don't know anyone in my area who still plays.  If you live in SoCal near Los Angeles (I live in San Gabriel Valley area) please PM me and hopefully we can find a place to play.  Bonus if you know anyone else who can join our little group.  Thanks.

It's funny.  I got back into WWE by watching matches of CM Punk and AJ Lee, and now they are both gone from wrestling.  :(   I really love AJ.  She's one of the very few female wrestlers who can work the mic as well as wrestle.  Plus she's a hottie and very petite, not like those Bellas with their silicon enhanced bodies.  I wish her the best with her pregnancy and I hope we'll see her in the ring one day, in UFC with her husband perhaps?

BTW I am glad that WWE sent her off with a WM win and didn't bury her after her marriage to CM Punk and her criticism of the company.  She's also a straight shooter like her husband and that could've gotten her in trouble. Now it's going to be hard for me to find another Diva to replace her.  I guess Paige will have to do.

Nil for the most part, if you've seen his V1 card.. ;)  He doesn't need to be stronger than THAT, haha

Nonsense.  Goldberg needs all the help he can get. ;)

Actually I have zero interest in NXT, so either make them a short set or move up the release of Attitude era set.

Thanks for the help.  I'll do just that.

Thanks for replying to my post Creed.  I got out of Raw Deal before SS3 so I have no idea that Lou Thesz Press added new lines.

As for SS reprints that's fine.  I brought this up because I saw how some SS got their face card reprinted, like The Largest Athlete in Sports Entertainment and I thought you can do the same for others.

The reason why I'd like more Goldberg cards is because I was going through those virtual cards today and I noticed a fair number of cards for Big Poppa Pump and I think Goldberg's situation is similar to his, so if he can have more cards why not Goldberg?  I'll be looking forward to his Revolution cards.  Thanks Creed.

I don't want to create a new thread so I am putting it here and I hope Creed or someone else will respond.  Thanks.

What I want from Virtual 7

- Reprints of the Superstar face cards with new pictures.  Specifically I'd like to see Goldberg, all the SS from Premier to first Survivor Series.  Why do I list Goldberg?  Because he's the guy I want to see the most.

- Errata on some of the virtual cards that have not been errata'd. For example, the Backstage Area for Rattle Snake has the following text: "...and ignore the "Strike" text on your Lou Thesz Press."

Lou Thesz Press's text reads, "If played from your hand, may reverse a maneuver played after the card titled Irish Whip. End your opponent's turn. You may draw 1 card."  There's no Strike anywhere on the text.

For future sets I want to see:

- MORE GOLDBERG CARDS!!!  As a Goldberg mark I'd like to see more support for him, since Comic Images didn't release any more foils for him after the set he's in.  The Lone Wolf is nice, but since I want to play with his original face card I'd like more cards with his logo instead of Lone Wolf's.  Maybe a Backstage card that'd allow him to play with all the maneuver cards with "Spear" and "Jackhammer" on it regardless of SS logo.  I'd also like to see a midmatch Maneuver/Reversal with Spear in the title.  Lastly, how about more non-Unique maneuvers with Spear and Jackhammer for him to search?  ;-)

Thanks for the answers.

Rules Forum / # of Backstage cards allowed & reversals vs Multi

1)  I want to know how many backstage cards you can play.  With more backstage cards available per superstar than ever, I'd hate to have to decide which ones I want to play.  Also, do they count toward the max pre-match cards you can have and play?

2)  For reversals that say, "reverse any CARD", can it be used to reverse any Multi completely?

So I cannot pack 6 Kicks then, with 3 of the Multi version and 3 original? I see.

For the rules regarding mixing Classics and Revolution cards together, can I use, say, 3 of the Spears and 3 Revolution Spears in my Goldberg deck?

I am no longer watching the current WWE, so my hope for the new set is the inclusion of more legends and/or tag teams from the 80s.  British Bulldogs, Killer Bees, Pan Am Express, Hercules, King Kong Bundy, etc.  These are all wrestlers that I'd love to see made.
