I like this idea of a guide. Im a fairly good player myself in virtual classic. With that being said id love to see a guide to revo. I have played many games of it and cant ever seem to win it just makes me angry. I would normally just outright avoid something i didnt like. But i will be playing and helping run worlds this year so i need to get gud lol.

BigPimpin sent me a guide for revolution a couple years ago that helped a bit...but the meta has really changed since then. I believe it was posted somewhere, but probably needs to be updated

Since the text just states "Your next maneuver played" turns dont matter and it doesnt say your next card, so you play anything between that effect and your next move and you still get it. Even if you play 10 reversals and/or 10 actions between that effect activating and your next maneuver, it still gets the reduction.

Most boosters that are "worth it" are either not available or extremely expensive...buying singles or play sets from places like Ebay may end up being the best

The top 4 in VC were Nidia, Chyna Doll, Big Poppa Pump, and Bret Hart, and before Worlds, I don't think anyone would have pegged any of those four decks as top tier, yet there they were in the top cut at Worlds.

BPP is always a thread to top-cut at Worlds.  So good.

Wasnt there some change done to bpp? I thought i heard about one or one comimg.

BPP can with around that Face card.

He's not the godly mess he was pre-revision to the Coif, but he's still an excellent superstar.

First turn <r>Rated R spear was meh

Thanks, I'll look at doing an update this weekend if time permits, I know it's been a while.

Plus I can add all those scans you provided, thanks again for that, Mitch!

I may not have EVERYTHING but if there are card pics missing after this update, I am more than willing to scan in to get those images up for lackey. I am not a fan of the proxy, so would be willing to help in any way

It doesn't interact with one night stand.

EDIT: my original response was a little confusing to even myself. Because of the text from The Intellectual Savior of the Masses that states "When you successfully play a card that would allow you to choose between one or more effects, you may choose one additional effect." The way it's written is those effects have to come from the card played itself, not outside effects like One Night Stand.

I asked almost this exact question and the response was confirmed by Daeva http://teamcanadaonline.net///index.php/topic,16456.msg191158.html#msg191158

With Bikini Contest, you need 3x German Suplex TB for sure, and either 2 or 3 Boot Laces, depending on space

Tournament Reports / April 7 - QC Tournament
« on: April 09, 2018, 09:22:31 AM »
Was unable to record the matches because...well, my stand wouldn't work so I'll try and type out my matches at least:

I played as Priceless (can post a list if people ask) but the whole premise of my deck is make them skip first turn with their prematch, throw a Quick Snap/Flawless first turn to get fortitude early so I could use their ability. Opponents first turn, I'd let just about anything go, let them get to 5F so once it was my turn I'd hide my backstage, grab a shoot lock up, pop quick snap with my ability and play the lock up. After that, well pretty much sat back and reversed with Spine Busters, Power Slams, or my 3x Shoot Counters (that was fun) and would throw vickie protected moves. If somehow, some way I'd get behind again, then I'd use their mid match and go searching for a running clothesline and play it for 13 more for which sets me up for the game. Simple deck, nothing special, so onto the matches:

Match 1: vs Batista (riothebeast)

Went in thinking I was gonna get destroyed...and I did eventually, lasted longer than I expected. He played OSWM TB so my prematch wasn't in effect...luckily enough for me, he had to use his ability to grab a running spine buster and it went through. Why it was so lucky...well first turn I played my quick snap and flawless and he didn't have a single spine buster in hand (I was pretty prepared to take 12D). From there, did my thing with the lock up and shoot counters. In the end, my biggest mistake was not popping my 10th to recover Divine, because the next turn he popped his destroyer with guardians in his ring and threw the Batista bomb and I had nothing in arsenal to stop it. Record: 0-1

Match 2: vs Spike Dudley (lawnmowaman)

Did my thing, got my shoot lock up out (you'll sense a trend since I was lucky enough to get it out 2nd turn every game) and just kept up hitting him with shoot counters and vickie moves. Can't remember most of the match, but eventually won by pinfall. Record: 1-1

Match 3: vs Rock and Sock

You know by now what my first 2 turns consisted of...was a very close match and he was sitting there with Wrestlemania so I tried to be as careful with that and wanted to kill him on his turn with a reversal since I had Dont Try and Classic Teamwork just in case. The big turning point was when he played their specific multi strike that I hit with a power slam, and Cody's drop kick (or whatever it was) for 21 damage. Last turn, got what I needed, hit him with a shoot counter to pin him and reversed WM to end it. Record: 2-1

Match 4: vs Braun Strowman

Was very familiar with Braun playing him in the tournament, so knew what to look out for. Same first couple of turns for me that got my fortitude. By this time, everyone knew to avoid the shoot counters, and he was playing opening volley so my power slams did nothing. Took a while since Braun has so many D0 reversals that my vickie moves weren't going through, but I eventually started hitting them and won via pinfall. Record: 3-1

Match 5 vs Dwayne (sephy)

Actually didn't play this, had to get home...but I knew it was the worst match up possible for me. Plunging shoot lock up doesn't work vs brahma bull, and the biggest weakness of my deck was lack of action reversals, so his peeps champ would've prevented me from playing my midmatch for fortitude. Record: 3-2

All in all, had fun with the deck, the reactions to 3x shoot counters was my form of entertainment. Will probably put this away for a while and come back, love their cards and may go over to the Legacy and try them as well. Like I said, will post a deck list later if people wanna see, but just by my above match summaries, you can probably guess about 75% of my deck.

One last random note...it just seemed weird that they have 3x TMFs and I didn't get to play a single one saturday, had the fortitude to every game, just never drew into them I guess

Rules Forum / Re: Reversing an ACE effecf thats from backstage.
« on: April 09, 2018, 08:20:14 AM »
Just as a quick add-on, there are cards in the game that can have their effects reversed if in the backstage area, but they specifically say so within the text, as an example:

The X-Treme Enigma
Backstage Card
Your High-Flying Style is now Superstar-specific, and your Superstar-specific Events do not take up a Pre-match slot in your Ring.  Your Jeff Hardy-specific actions are Multi and can only be reversed by 2 reversal cards.  Do not discard for Swanton Bomb.
When you are Jeff Hardy, once during each of your turns you may reveal 1 High Risk or Trademark Finisher from hand, and then put it on the bottom of your Arsenal and your opponent puts 1 random card from hand on the bottom of his Arsenal; this effect can be reversed as if it is an Activated Card Effect.

V8

If it doesn't have that last line, and the card exists in the backstage then yes, refer to the posts above

Old School Wrestling Match - Throwback
Pre-match Stipulation
If any player's turn ends after his Draw Segment without attempting to play a maneuver, he overturns 6 cards. Turns cannot be skipped, and non-Superstar-specific cards cannot prevent an opponent from playing maneuvers.
When Back to Basics is in your Ring, your Pre-match Capacity is +3, and your opponent cannot play I'm Gonna Break You.

No because showtime ends before draw segment...new text is after draw segment

No, it refers to the revolution maneuver type Trademark

It's for each volley card played, so they'd have to do it again for the volley action to reverse from hand or ringside

Thanks, also wanted to make sure I'm reading them correctly...when you reveal the 3 and and onky one is applicable, say Revolution of the Mind, I can remove one of the other 3, shuffle and end their turn?

« on: April 03, 2018, 08:59:59 AM »
I found this in regards to Legacy and RMS moves: http://teamcanadaonline.net///index.php/topic,14539.msg171512.html#msg171512

Would it be a similar ruling with Legacy vs Braun?

The Legacy
Starting Hand Size: 7     Superstar Value: 5
Stable Superstar Ability:  When your opponent successfully plays a non-Trademark Finisher non-Trademark maneuver, before damage is applied, reveal the top 3 cards of your Arsenal; when you reveal any applicable reversals with Fortitude equal to or less than your Fortitude Rating, you may choose 1 to remove from the game, shuffle the other cards into your Arsenal, do not take damage from that maneuver and end his turn.
When you do not choose a card, shuffle those cards into your Arsenal and take damage as normal.

BRAUN STROWMAN
Starting Hand Size: 12     Superstar Value: 2
Superstar Ability: Your opponent’s effects cannot reduce or blank the damage of your maneuvers, and he does not draw or search his Arsenal for the effects of his non-Superstar-specific reversals.
You can pack As Big and Tough as Any Two Men (replace 'Kane' with 'Braun Strowman' in its text), No Sell Maneuver, Follow the Buzzards, and We're Here. Ignore the 'When you are packing...' text on A Revolution of the Mind.
You cannot pack Face, Heel, or BASH cards, or Corners.

I'd say carlito is a must pack in today's game, to each his own though.

Out of Nowhere goes back to being a 25F action

'Your reach exceeds your grasp' would be a good midmatch and one I play in almost all decks, maybe 'this is going to be an old school brawl' as well.

IF anything...doubt they'd give him a new superstar for Woken Matt Hardy...maybe a backstage and/or prematch that alters what you can/can't play. I'd be ok with that, Matt already has a decent sized set, as well as a remake AND apart of 3 tag teams

I tried to get my game going by this morning but man, my whole house has been sick and work has been work. If me taking a loss is what's required I understand, I still want to play if I make the cut though

If you can find a way on tonight, I can in about an hour

No, LoD first looks for RW logos, but then has to abide by other restrictions so it sees RW Logo then sees text that it can only be packed by RW and can't pack Legendary Tag Team Champions

So let me get this straight, he's cleared and first thing they do is have KO give him a ring apron power bomb? I mean, I know nobody (at least I've heard) has been hurt by it....but that's the part of the ring that has the least protection....

Looks fine, but it does depend on format. If VC is the choice, fine...but some superstars shine in certain formats. I'd say Darren Young for example is actually pretty good in nXt

Now that I'm thinking about it the answer is not likely a good one, lol.

Yeah, with the bolded text, it's possessive (I dk if that's the right term to use) as in only referring to the one it put into play...so I'd say no
