General Chat / Sorry people...
« on: January 19, 2012, 06:04:05 AM »
Hey guys,

I know I said I'm coming to Gencon 2012.

However, an impulse $750,000 purchase has left me high and dry without any cash left. As such I think the chances of me appearing at Gencon 2012 is very rare (unless I strike the lottery etc).

Was really looking forward to meeting you all...

I'll rebuild my finances, and hopefully the delayed trip will take place not too long in the future.

Regards to all
Frankie Ho

General Chat / Gengon 2012
« on: February 21, 2011, 01:26:46 AM »
Hi guys,

I'm currently planning a roadtrip in 2012, which will end with Gencon 2012.

My destinations are Route 66, the grand canyon/ vegas, somewhere..., GENCON 2012.

And Antigoth, your house is/ will be/ confirmed to be/ assured to be one of the stops. Maybe we'll drive down to Gencon together

Now can someone familiar with the country help to think of the following:

Car rental- Which company is cheap and allows interstate travel?

Route:
Assume I reach Las Vegas as my first stop (Hoover dam/ Grand canyon)
Travel along route 66 to Chicago (1 week? 2 weeks?)
Chicago (Deep dish pizza/ cookies and cream)
...?
...?
...?
Brian's house (Winnipeg/ Onion rings/ Butter tarts)
Gencon 2012, Indianapolis (MADNESS)

Also, I will start to book hotels for Gencon 2012. I believe in being prepared. Any suggestions on cheap/ near? I think the room is just something to keep the bags and shower. Sleep is optional.

Rules Forum / TEST
« on: August 02, 2010, 06:13:49 AM »
Question:

Test can pack backstage Shenanigans as a midmatch. However, I assume they can be played in the prematch.

I also assume the same rules go for For The Love...

Preempt question here, with the expansion of pre/ Mid in R5, does TesT get the bonus 2+2 backlash space?

Rules Forum / Kane's R4 card
« on: July 31, 2010, 08:08:09 PM »
Through the Fire and the Flames
Pre-match Event
Can only be packed by Kane.
Your Revolution The Big Red Monster card adds the new Ability instead of replacing it.  Your cards played from hand are -3F, your opponent's reversals to your first Kane-specific F: 0 action each turn are +8F, ACE:  and once during each of your turns, you may draw 1 card and then discard 1 card.  This effect cannot be reversed.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent

We were having a discussion yesterday. One was of an opinion that since Road To Victory does not reverse, he is able to play it on Kane's Road To Darkness. All other plunge cards reference reversal CARDS.
The logic for this came from a previous ruling on Crimson Goddess and Oversell, where one reverses and the other does not

So if RTV does not reverse, and the plunge only states reversals and not reversal cards, is it subjected to the plunge?

Fantasy Cards / Long overdue
« on: July 24, 2010, 11:42:31 PM »
I think this card is looooong overdue. I'm not sure why, but I'm sure there can be some way to balance this out

We have Poke and Skake, RMS, 1D and can only be reversed by Step/ Escape

Introducing:

Pinch
Submission
Can only be reversed by Break the Hold. Apply Illegal Leverage and maintain hold cannot be played after this card.
RMS
F:0
D:1

Also introducing:

...Of Doom
Action
Can only be played after a sucessfully played maneuver and before damage is applied.
This card's Fortitude is 10+ the fortitude of the maneuver played before this.
This card's damage is 10D + the damage of the maneuver played before this, treat this card as a copy of the maneuver while resolving the damage effects.
If this card is reversed, resolve the maneuver normally and end your turn after
F:#
D:#

And since we are on pinching, here is another card:

N!pple..
Action
After successfully playing this card, you must play a hold or submission maneuver. If it is successfully played, your opponent may not play reversals to your card played after that maneuver.
F:0
D:0

Imagine the n!pple- clutch/ Apply illegal leverage ...of doom?

I'm going to come up with a set that follows the concept of Unhinged and Unglued in MTG. Mostly for hilarity moments, like the DX a$$ sprays, Break the (Toilet) Doors Down!!

Anyone want to play with me on this one?

General Chat / 1994- Robbing Chuck
« on: July 19, 2010, 07:20:55 AM »
Just browsing through some stories when I came across this

Had a good laugh, just to share it with you guys.

Happened in 1994 top of the list of truly ridiculous criminal acts number 1

The moral of the story is...Do not rob Chuck Norris
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://listverse.com/2010/07/16/10-truly-ridiculous-criminal-acts/

If someone were to ask you who the last person anyone should ever dare to mug is, what name would be your answer? This lister is betting on 80% or better of respondents answering, “Chuck Norris.”

Amazingly, astoundingly, two idiots managed to try just that. It happened in 1994. Norris mentions this whole thing in his autobiography, “Against All Odds.” And, by his testimony, this is what happened. Honest to God, it really happened.

In 1994, right at the beginning of his run as Walker, Texas Ranger, Norris was, and still is, living in Dallas, Texas, where the show was filmed. One day he was walking down the street by himself, no entourage, no fans following him, no bodyguards, not even his wife. He turned a commercial block in the downtown skyscraper area and saw two men a little bigger than he coming straight for him from the other end of the block.

They were staring right at him, and he figured they wanted autographs, which he enjoys signing. So he walked up to them and stopped with a smile, whereupon they stood in front of him, whipped out a couple of large pocketknives, and one of them demanded, “Give me your wallet, Chuck! Give it here!”

Norris actually opened his mouth wide and then asked, “Are you insane!?”

“No! We know who you are! And we know you got a lot of money! Now give it up, or you’re dead!”

Now before we go further, let us just go over a few of the particulars. All jokes aside, Chuck Norris truly does have the following black belts: 1st degree in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, 8th Degree Grandmaster in Tae Kwon Do, 9th degree in Jeet Kune Do under Bruce Lee and Lee’s best student, Dan Inosanto, 10th degree in Shito Ryu Karate, 10th degree in Tang Soo Do, 11th degree in Chun Kuk Do.

Granted, the last art is his own concoction, a hybrid of all the best moves he has learned over the years, all blended for both self-defense and competition, and you are only allowed a 10th degree or better in anything when you found your own dojo. But suffice to say, the muggers didn’t even use guns. From a hundred feet away. They used knives within arm’s reach. What happened next was rather anti-climactic.

The police arrived about 4 minutes later, 3 officers in two cars, and were greeted by the scene of two men with SEVERELY broken arms (the bones had gone through the skin) sitting on the curb, two bloody knives in the gutter, and Chuck Norris, the Almighty Himself, leaning against the wall, wearing his beard, jeans, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat….he shrugged at them. The police started laughing so hard that they bent over, holding their sides, unable to put the handcuffs on the muggers. One of them managed to ask, “Did you not know who he was?!”

One of them said, “Yeah, we knew who he was! We figured all that crap on TV was fake!”

Classic Raw Deal / Old School back to basics
« on: July 04, 2010, 06:29:22 AM »
Now people, just wish to get some ideas

Feud: B2B
Stip: Old School Wrestling match- Prematch +3
Old school manager- Prematch +1
Old school beatings/ psychology x3

You can play nine slots. You have used 6. What other old school cards can I use?

Old School Donnybrook
...??
I'm drawing a blank...

Aso, assume you don't get a venue off, so there are still 2 cards to play

Singapore / Royal Rumble Rules 2010
« on: July 04, 2010, 05:22:28 AM »
Here are the revised Royal Rumble Rules

No non-superstar specific backstage cards and prematch cards are allowed (Enforcers are not allowed. Fight your own match in the Royal rumble, every man/woman for him/herself)

Players sit randomly. Determine who goes first (highest dice roll, cut deck for fort/ damage etc), and the order randomly (clockwise or anti-clockwise).
Each player will take turns in playing their superstar specific prematches.
Each prematch will specifically target the next person down the line. Unless it specifically states Opponent(s)

Same goes for Backstage cards- You target the next player down the line.

Eg, A is Kane, B is Piper, C is HHH, D is X-Pac, E is Undertaker
Kane plays his Born of Hellfire. All players overturns 6
Piper can play his Bagpipe introductions, but he still does not get to go first
HHH plays his Cerebral Assassin, blanking X-Pac's ability.
Undertaker plays you will respect me. This will target Kane as there are no more players down the line.
Kane then skips
Piper plays his Piper's pit, being only able to target Cerebral assassin

and so on untill no more prematches are left to play.

Then A takes his turn, then B takes his turn
A takes his turn again, then B, then C takes his first turn
Then A takes another turn, then B, then C, then D enters

Maneuvers
You can play a maneuver against anyone legally in the royal rumble.

Highrisks and followups can only be played against the same opponent
(Eg, Undertaker Pumpkicks X-Pac. He cannot do a Suicide Lariat on HHH as his next card.)

No Interferes. Only the target of the maneuver can reverse it.

Actions and antics

These cards can be reversed by anyone

The target of the action/ antic need not be announced when played

Eg: Piper play Break it Out, Break It Down, Breakin Rules, Breakin Ground. Anyone can reverse it. But once it is successful, Piper can choose any legal opponent as his target.
(So if Piper tells you he will not make you the target, do not be surprised when he suddenly announces you as the recepient of the benefits of the card)

Activated Card Effects

Effects that have an active effect, such as haterate, can be reversed by anyone. The target need not be announced beforehand (Same as actions and antics)

Effects that have a reversal effect can only be targeted by the active player
Eg: Kane plays a Big Freaking Uppercut on X-Pac. X-Pac discards 2 to sustain damage. Undertaker cannot play DTTAH on it.

Eg: Kane plays Big Freaking Uppercut as a reversal to X-Pac's strike. X-Pac discards 2 to sustain damage. Kane can try to reverse the effect but not Undertaker or anyone else.

Reversals

Cards will specifically target an opponent in game
For example, Undertaker sits up on X-Pac. X-Pac's reversals to UT's maneuvers are +25F and UT's maneuvers are +2D to all players.
For Example, Piper plays Break it Out, Break It Down, Breakin Rules, Breaking Ground. Kane plays Road To Victory on the card. HHH will not discard down to 5 despite having more than 15 cards in hand.

Abilities

Abilities will be activated once conditions are met.

Eg: Booker T can use his ability to recover 2 before his draw segment if there is
someone with lower fortitude than him.
Eg: Kane makes EVERYONE legal in the match overturn 1 before his draw segment

Cards or abilities only work if the conditions are met targeting you.

Eg: Brahma Bull will only take effect of 4F or lower maneuvers are played against you from an opponen's hand
Eg: Kane Punches X-Pac and X-Treme Diva is in the match, Kane does not have to overturn 2
Eg: Jamie Noble does not get to take back a non-unique card everytime someone plays a maneuver against anyone else.

Others

Mini Aggression Rule

If a player ends his turn without playing any cards, he overturns 3 cards.

Cerebral Assassin

Whenever Cerebral Assassin is activated/ triggered, the HHH/DX/Game etc player will choose a legal player in the Royal rumble. That player's ability is considered blank until cerebral assassin deactivates

Eg
HHH with 5 cards in hand.
HHH plays a card, hand goes to 4. He chooses Kane. Kane's ability is blank.
HHH plays another unique card, returning 3x Steel Chain Shots back to his hand (6 hand). kane gets his ability back
HHH discards 3 to A Beating You'll never forget (3 hand left). This time he chooses X-Pac. X-Pac's ability is blank.
and so on...

Andre

For the actual triggering of the ability, it'd have to trigger on the second card against Andre, if the opponent didn't play any cards at all, or if he played one card against Andre and ended his turn, either voluntarily or via a card effect (Keibler Instincts, for example).

Example,
Piper plays That's Broken. Andre sits and does nothing.
Piper plays Grab from That's Broken against Kane. It is successful. Piper looks for an Atomic Driver and damage is applied (not reversed). Andre sits and does nothing.
Piper throws Atomic Driver on Andre. Andre cannot use his ability as it is now the 3rd card of Piper
However, if the second card by Piper is an action/ antic that is open to everyone, Andre will get to use his ability.

Singapore / Revo 4 printing
« on: May 31, 2010, 08:07:28 AM »
Dudes, I've underestimated the number of cards in revo 4. Currently I may not have enough paper to print even 1 set. Assume I need to print 55 to 60 pages, and average $1.50 a page, that will mean $90 for printing. Paper costs another $30 or so. So Revo 4 may end up costing around $120.

For those that feel that is too much, feel free to choose the cards and superstars you want. At $50 dollars, you can probably get all the new superstars printed out.

If you choose thinner paper (like ordinary a4 and paste them on RD cards), that will bring down the costs more, and you can just get the stationary shop in your neighborhood to print those cards at a lower rate.

I will try to print those cards this week, and show you the results on Sunday

Rules Forum / The Hitman

The Hitman
Backstage Card
Your opponent cannot play Pre-match cards with 'blank' in the text.
At the end of the Pre-match phase, name a card.  During his turn, you may discard 1 card to reverse that card.
Unique

Can I use this twice in the same turn? For example: I name That's Broken. Can I discard 2 cards to reverse it?

Classic Raw Deal / Raw deal card specs

Does anyone know the card thickness/ caliper or weight for Raw Deal cards? I'm trying to find a supplier that sells the paper that matches Raw deal cards as closely as possible so that I can get another shop to print out revo 4/5 cards on it

Thanks

Rules Forum / James’ Stratusfaction
« on: May 22, 2010, 10:56:55 PM »
Not sure where is the Omni FAQ, but a question as follows

99/170 (STARTER DECK – FOIL – Mickie James)
James’ Stratusfaction
Grapple / Reversal: Special
As a reversal, this card is -15F when your Fortitude Rating is less than your opponent’s Fortitude Rating, reverse any card if it is not the first or second card played this turn and end his turn.
Unique
SV: 2
F: 15 D: 15

If I have 15F, and my opponent has 0F. Opponent plays 3 cards in a row. Can I use this as a reversal on his 3rd card or is the reversal condition applicable only when my fort rating is lower?
