General Discussion: Raw Deal / Fall-Away Slam's restriction
« on: January 12, 2017, 05:01:53 PM »
Before I forget, here is the card text.
*********************
Fall-Away Slam
Grapple / Reversal: Special
As a maneuver, the card titled Jockeying for Position must be played before playing this card.
As a reversal, may only reverse the card titled Cross Body Block or a maneuver played after the card titled From the Top Rope. End your opponent’s turn.
SV: 1
F: 4      D: 9
******************************

I was working on my A-Train deck and looking to improve it and found this awesome card in my collection that was a F:4 D9!  That's great for A-Train!  However, it can only be played after Jockeying for Position.  UGH......I couldn't think of a way to get around that restriction and there are a lot of creative people on here, so I wondered if any of you knew of a way to make Fall-Away Slam more usable.

Thank you,

Masked Llama

Professional Wrestling Discussion / Favorite Wrestling podcasts??
« on: November 19, 2016, 05:33:41 PM »
There are a freaking ton of podcasts out there about pro-wrestling. I am curious which are your favorites.

As for as wrestlers who make podcasts, I am a big fan of Chris Jericho's and Colt Cabana's.  I like Stone Cold's and J.R.'s but they don't hook me like Colt and Chris do.

As far as fan podcasts go, I enjoy Wrestling Compadres and The Lapsed Fan podcast, however since I work as a cubicle for 40 hours a week I have a lot of time to listen, so what other good wrestling podcasts would you recommend?

I saw on Twitter today that Cody Rhodes said that he asked for his release.  I'm still in shock.  Does anyone know any more details about this??

Professional Wrestling Discussion / PWG commentators?
« on: November 12, 2015, 03:37:47 PM »
I have had my first experience with PWG.

I bought a 2 disc set called The Many Adventures of El Generico.  So far I've watched 3 matches on it.  They are his debut match against Kevin Steen, a tag team match, and his 2006 BOLA battle against Cima.  None of these matches have had commentators. There is no play by play guy, or color commentator.

Is this a standard thing for PWG shows? In some ways its cool because it allows you to focus more on the match, but since I am getting random matches with no context, I am a little lost at times as well.

I know we have some rabid PWG fans here, so I was wondering if anyone could give some explanation.

P.S.  So far the matches have been very entertaining!  I like this PWG place.

Virtual Raw Deal / Virtual 8 Hopes N Dreams
« on: August 30, 2015, 02:52:43 PM »
I know its too late for V7, but it seemed to early to start a V8 Hopes and Dreams thread.  I woke up from sleep last night with the startling realization that Cactus Jack doesn't have a "Running elbow from the apron to the floor" card.  He was famous for that move in WCW.

Supershow / Mark the Shark
« on: June 26, 2015, 10:49:39 PM »
There used to be a downloadable superstar called Mark the Shark.  I can't find him online though!! I need to find him by tomorrow so I can print him off and give him to a friend along with a copy of Supershow! I have the extra copy, I just need some superstars to give him!

Supershow / Smokey Mountain Territory Supershow Tourney
« on: February 17, 2015, 01:37:50 PM »
Have you wanted to play in a Supershow Tournament but don't live in the NE territory?  Well, I have, so I've decided to host one at  the G2K Games store in Johnson City Tennessee.  The tournament will be February 28th and will start at 10:30.  Dark matches/learn to play will begin at 10 AM for anyone interested.

There will be some prize support!

Hope to see you there.

General Discussion: Raw Deal / Quantity over Quality
« on: August 24, 2014, 11:05:45 AM »
When I was playing in the Virtual Tournament at Gencon, people asked why I had so many older cards in my decks.  I explained that I preferred Quantity over Quality.  I preferred to have decks for most superstars instead of just a couple of decks for my favorite superstars.  This started back in college when me and my roomies would play almost nightly and wanted a variety of stars and kinda grew from there.   Some people asked to see what this deck collection looked like, so I thought I'd post a picture.

Upper Left Virtual Superstars,
Upper middle, Divas and females,
Upper right, Stables and Tag Teams
Lower Far left is Chikara fantasy Superstars
Lower, second from the left is Comic Image printed Superstars
Lower, second from the right is legends and various cards
Lower, far right is Fantasy WWE superstars

There ya go.  Hope its everything you imagined.

Rules Forum / <R> Laurinataitis + back to basic
« on: August 24, 2013, 12:14:19 PM »
I want to build an All Axxess <R> John Laurinatis Back to Basics deck.  I wanted to know if his ability allowed him to play Corners despite Back to Basics pre-match restrictions.

Revolution JOHN LAURINAITIS
Starting Hand Size: 6     Superstar Value: 0
GM Superstar Ability: You may play any number of Corners, regardless of card text.
You cannot pack Factions, regardless of card text.

Back to Basics:
"You can only play Pre-match cards with the words "old School" in the title."

I'm thinking that Johnny Ace's ability trumps B2B allowing him to play Corners, but I wanted to be sure.

Virtual Raw Deal / Putting virtual cards on Board Game Geek?
« on: February 27, 2012, 01:16:18 PM »
I was on Board Game Geek today and checked out what they had for Raw Deal.  I noticed that they linked to RawDealPlanet.com and this forum, however I noticed that none of the virtual superstars you've created had been posted there.  Some of the more thematic games have fan created content listed under the "files" sections.  Someone has even posted a couple of TNA superstar cards under the Raw Deal images section.

I was just curious if there was a reason that TCO didn't place a few virtual superstars on BGG?

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/18824/wwe-raw-deal for the curious.
