Win If You Can, Lose If You Must, But Always Cheat

I've had this deck together for a few months and have had great success with.
Pre-match usually goes Backstage Politics, Managed by Lita, No Show (Strangle Hold & Manager Interferes) and a mixture of Stun the Crowd, Pyro Volley and Dare to Take the Challenge.

Ryback draws until he has 12 cards with WAKE UP! at the end of the Pre-match phase, so you can discard for Challenge and Pyro Volley and no worry about having a small hand. Their hand will get pretty low too if they dare to take the challenge.
Ryback Rules gives me -4F to all cards, so I get Power Struggle, Strangle Hold and Leg Drag right away so the deck is more reversal light.

The constant barrage of Volley moves, and the card drawing that comes with it is nasty. Managed by Lita on successful (2 when FEED ME MORE is in play), plus stun on the moves that happens a lot of the time.

His specifics are all really good. Actions can only be reversed by Specifics thanks to WAKE UP, and his reversals are all really good too.

The Stylin' Strut
Mid-match Action
This card is considered non-Unique for The Best Thing Going Today.
When your Fortitude Rating is 15 or more and this card is in your Backlash, after successfully playing a maneuver and damage is resolved, you may put this card into your Ring.  Your opponent may discard 3 reversals; if he does, your turn ends.  If he does not, you may draw 3 cards or search your Arsenal or Ringside for a card with 'whoo' in the title, reveal it, put it into your hand, and shuffle your Arsenal; and the next card played this turn is considered to have 'chop' in the title.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique

This may be a case of mis-wording, but when this card goes into play there doesn’t seem to be an effect to go with it because of the break after the first sentence. Is the intent to have everything go off after it finds its way into play?

General Chat / Happy New Year
« on: January 01, 2019, 12:03:03 AM »
The tail end of this year saw a resurgence of Raw Deal in the community and here’s to more growth this year. It looks like there are some pretty cool things coming. New cards, big tournaments and a positive group of players from around the globe.

I hope everyone has a wonderful 2019 and gets in plenty of games.

I had the chance to speak with Mike Foley for the Backlash podcast and gives us a special reveal of something he's been working on that in the early stages.

Trumped UpDeal is using a slightly modified Raw Deal engine to pit political figures up against each other. Is this something you would be interested trying out? Give the page a look and show your support if you would like to play this game.

(*) Are for Backlash decks cards I keep after the effects of Initation into New Nexus.
Tech in a Bottle searches for Choke Hold that they cannot respond to thanks to Initation.
Usually I'll play Handicap match and see if they play Oldschool Wrestling Match, if they do not I would sometimes SummerSlam to play it right away or Cage Match. Another strategy I have with this deck is playing Mouth/Cash, but I can't recover because of Dubuque right? If I activate the venue as a reversal I can return it to Backlash with the ACE from Reinforcements from Harris & McGillcutty. This recovery card can be a life saver and they don't see it coming, unless they read this...
Everything else is personal preference/match-up. Reinforcements can get back Ready to Fight, Flurry of Finishers when needed. End of Pre-match effects are Backstage Autograph Session. Quick and simple.

The Superstar abilty on these guys makes for some small hands on the opponent quickly. Blindsides can go through easier because of this. Drop Toe Hold has very little drawback due my opponent having just about no options for removal unless I have Shoot Counter in play. Hopefully I manage to draw Shoot Russian Leg Sweep in my opening hand to play protected with Initation. It's a whole different game if this works out.
Any other non-hybrid maneuver can be picked up with my Mid-match ACE as long as they get removed from the game. Which will happen with the ACE cost and Volley This. Punk's Springboard Lariat is great, same with Dynamic Finisher and The Perfect Neck Snap.

It's a fast aggressive deck that can keep your opponent from successfully playing maneuvers for a while early on.

Flurry of Finishers lets me play my first or second Trademark Finisher ignoring the "Can only be played..." text. I missed this with The Perfect Neck Snap, otherwise I would have been playing it first along with a second TMF from Ringside. Adding See How it Feels in the Backlash is a must as well since it can be played along with Flurry. That will make 7 TMF in this deck.

Choke Hold was a big loss for my in my 5th round game against Scotty. It removed my Leg Drag from the game, I also had one in Ringside from my ability. Played The Muscle of New Nexus to a multi Strike, it allows me to search for a non-unique maneuver. Couldn't find a Leg Drag since I didn't check my areas first and had to let the maneuver through. Technical Monkey Flip for Tech in a Bottle, so that will be the change going forward replacing the two Choke Holds. This will not work, they cannot pack set-ups.

Other than that, I've been really happy with this deck over the last few months and the practice really paid off this past weekend at Planet Funkcon. Feel free to comment/critique.

Rules Forum / Your Freaking Hero/Storyline vs Carlito Says

If I am Your Freaking Hero and I have my storyline in play making my Chain cards no longer Chain, can my opponent reverse my Angle’s Uppercut with Carlito says?

World Champion Athleticism
Pre-match Storyline
Cannot be blanked.  Cannot be packed when packing Stipulations.
New Ability: At the end of the Pre-match phase, you may play Do YOU Live by the Three I's?, Intensity, Integrity, and Intelligence regardless of Fortitude.  Ignore the "Can only be played..." text on your Kurt Angle-specific maneuvers, and your Just Hold On a Second, Mister! is now an Event instead.  Your Chain cards are not Chain, and your Angle's German Suplexcannot be reversed by D: 1+ reversals.

Rules Forum / Dubuque and Mouths Writing Checks
« on: June 17, 2018, 09:29:18 PM »
With Mouths Writing Checks having RMS will it ignore Dubuque’s effect?

Dubuque, Iowa
Pre-match Venue: Heat
When this card is in your Ring or is removed from the game, your other Pre-match effects cannot move cards from your Ringside to your Arsenal. Once during each of your turns when you successfully play a printed D: 4+ maneuver, shuffle up to 1 card from Ringside into your Arsenal.
ACE: When your Fortitude Rating is 10+, you may ignore any of your opponent's reversal restrictions from cards and remove this card from the game to reverse any RMS card or any card with "shoot" in the title; shuffle up to 4 cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal. When you Activate this card, it can be considered to be a hybrid reversal card.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent     RMS logo

Mouths Writing Checks Bodies Can't Cash
Pre-match Event
Cannot be packed when packing Wrestlemania.
ACE: During your turn when you have no cards under this card, you may put 1 maneuver from your Ringside face-up under this card and then shuffle # cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal, where # is equal to the maneuver's Damage and cannot be greater than 12; this effect cannot be reversed.
Before the Draw Segment of each of your turns, when you have fewer cards under this card than the printed Damage of the face-up card +4, put the top card of your Arsenal and 1 random card from your Ringside face-down under this card; if you did not, put the top 2 cards of your Arsenal face-down under this card.

Raw Deal Online / How to install Raw Deal plugin to Lackey iPad
« on: April 04, 2018, 03:51:50 PM »
With the limitations of accessibility to files and folders on iOS you have to download a free program on your pc.
I used the free program Syncios.
Connected my iPad to my pc with the USB cable and went to apps in Syncios.
From there I chose Lackey and made a folder in plugins called rawdeal then exported what I could from the files here.
The biggest hurdle with it is I could export folders, just contents from them. So each folder I had to make, then export the contents into it.
It was pretty painless once I knew what was going on.

On the 27th of January we had a Round Robin event with a 6 player turnout featuring 3 Classic and 3 Virtual Superstars. It was interesting see the different support the older characters recieved compared to the newer created ones.
I played AJ that I've been tinkering with for a while. The deck is to a point that I'm happy with and he preformed well for me this day.
Biggest mistake of the day was missing on the chance to play Ax Kick from Ringside against Damn by APA. Had I noticed the opportunity that game would have been mine.

Check out the deck here:
