« on: December 27, 2015, 03:14:08 PM »
In relation to NXT Arrival, can ANY card be played as a counter, or does the card have to say "when played as a counter"?

NXT Arrival
Pre-match Pay-Per-View Event
Can only be packed by an NXT Superstar.  Cannot be packed when packing a Pro or Nexus Armband.
When your opponent successfully plays a maneuver and damage is applied, you may put any number of cards in your Ringside overturned for damage under this card.
When you play a maneuver as a Counter, it is -1F for each card under this card, and when it is successful, put up to 3 random cards under this card on the bottom of your Arsenal and the remaining cards under this card into your Ringside.
ACE:  During your turn you may remove this card from the game, and then shuffle up to 5 cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal.

Twin Magic

Strategery:  Play as Niki all game.  Multi Clutch Onto Opponent cards are hard to reverse.  So is the "Arsenal only" Nikki's Drop Kick she searched up with Bad Blood.  I'm Always on Top makes Apply Illegal Leverage and the Atomic Bear Hug F:0 and thus makes them also multis thanks to Nikki's Ability.  Once you get off the ground, just try to get to the F:20 range.  That is all you need.  Just enough to play Twin Team Magic...a great finisher that requires 2 reversals.  If the finisher can't get it done, use either a Claw + Maintain Hold, or a Girly Grab + Maintain Hold.   While maintaining the hold, use all of your Raw Pre-match ACEs.  They can't be stopped while maintaining the hold.  Hello Ladies, is good recovery, while Burn it to the Ground Tonight adds a little overturn damage each turn.  Back Body Drops cycle the Roll out of the Rings, Roll out of the Rings bleed action and multi reversals needed to stop your recovery actions and maintain hold.  Make sure to let Brie Take one for the team too!  What else are twin-sister-personal-assistants for?

Pretty cool deck.  Have fun, and be Fearless!

Strateegery:  You get to play all of the pre-match, Making Your Escape helps against volley decks, Evening up the odds helps your small handsize, and the ECW Stuff + Cactus' Ability + Foley is Good + Sustained Damage= Tank.

Use Reversals and Boot Lace to get initial Fortitude, Beal toss if you have to...or if it works!  Then look for your Table and use Chicago Street Fight every turn to bleed those ACE Reversals. Table is pretty tough to reverse, and your can laugh at powerslams and the like, because they do no damage from The House that Hardcore Built.

Once you have some fortitude, you can play the Barbed Wire Baseball Bat (3 Damage, Foreign Object, Multi, Superstar-Specific, that searches your Ringside and Arsenal for any card) to set up for your kill.

Getting Contract Table into play is key to the deck as it does double duty.  You can name it Dem Damn Dudleyz to pick a foreign object up from your ring with Street Fight (Barbed wire Baseball bat), or you can name it Gut Buster.

Pin your opponent with irreversible Gut Buster on Tope Ropes or Tree of Woe.  For extra style points, put them through the table :)  If you can't pull that off, just hit them with a Stop Sign or a Baseball Bat until you win.  Making your opponent reverse a Multi action every turn allows your key recovery actions (Three Faces of Foley) to have a chance of going through.

The deck doesn't need a lot of fortitude, and is probably best if you let you opponent have more than you, rendering their shoot lockups and tun the tides useless.  No Trademark Finishers, not needed.  No Hardcore Diaries...If I can't use that card in THIS Deck, what can I use it in?

Reversal set will make your opponent really have to work to put you away with maneuvers.  Your The Hardcore Legend Returns will make it difficult for your opponent to land a non-specific action.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the deck so far, it has already gone through a few changes to get it to this point.  I'm curious to see if this deck can handle an Old School Wrestling Match Stip.  My hope would be that the street fight and the blindsides might give just enough fire power to fulfill my once-per-turn maneuver obligation.  The good news in this situation would be that your opponent would have a VERY difficult time beating you by just playing a maneuver straight up every turn.

Try it out, enjoy it, have fun!

When searching for your superstar ability, you may instead search your arsenal for 1 card with "GM" in the text, or 1 card with "European" in the title.  When your card listed on your ability, or a card with European in the title, or a card with "GM" on the text is unsuccessful, your opponent overturns 1 card.

Start with a 14 card starting hand (before autograph sessions), then search for 1 non-unique with I'll taunt you then BASH you, for a 15-17 card starting hand!!!   Your AWESOME Specifics are -5 fortitude, and bring the hurt in an Old School Wrestling Match.  Not a whole lot of actions, just McMahonism because in can't be responded to, but on the flip side, your opponent isn't getting many actions through either with all of your Shades and Don't Cross a McMahon cards.  The maneuvers should do a nice job avoiding the big Pain Reversals with their reversal restrictions, allowing you to fulfill your end of the Old School Wresting Match without getting squashed.  If all goes right, with your lock on the actions, your opponent will be forced into playing something that gets nailed by your big specifics.

This deck creates a no-nonsense slobberknocker environment in which this "Creepy Little Bastard" is certain to totally rock.

Virtual Deck Reviews / Randy Orton All Together Now
« on: February 07, 2015, 10:50:05 AM »
The goal of this deck is to totally disrupt your opponent's starting hand using Armageddon is Upon us and Restart the Match.  Then you can search for Chain & Multi European Uppercuts with less fear of reversals.  Push through maneuvers with unbreakable Chain.  After you have some fortitude, the next step is to get your hands on RKO and protect it with Vise Lock.  The Vise Lock may even be able to help you play RKO with the fortitude reduction text.  Your Deck keeps replenishing itself with Thrust Knee Lift, Back Body Drop, and Leaping DDT.  Your hand replenishes itself with Back Body Drop  Set-up retrieval, Destiny, And Ego Boost.  There are also some Ring Removal and Recovery options in the Deck.  As For winning, Nail your opponent with an RKO.  If that doesn't work, Backfire them to death.

I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but that will be my strategy.

If I choose my opponent's See How it Feels with my See How it Feels, what happens?

I would think that I would add the text and damage 0 to my first see how it feels, then I would use the text again from the second see how it feels and choose another TMF from my opponent, adding the text and damage to the second see how it feels, and then both of my opponent's TMF's would be discarded.

Does my opponent take the effects and damage from the other chosen TMF too?

Can a backlash card be the target of 10th anniversary if it's removed from the game?  I was under the impression that the card wouldn't bounce to the ringside pile is this correct?

Do I have to have five cards on top of my arsenal to use the card blindsided by the dangerous divas?

Virtual Deck Reviews / The Authority--Steph Deck AA

This deck is honor of my favorite current WWE personality, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley-(Lavesque).  Isn't she great?!  Here's hoping for a little Authority support in the next set...

We start with the Big Freakin' Machine Enforcer, and then probably will switch to Steph after that.  There are cards that allow you to switch enforcers in this deck so maybe I'll find a better one later on in the game.  The deck seems like it will do well once it gets 10+ fortitude.  I haven't had a chance to play it yet.  Are there any giant gaping holes in my deck that anyone can see?   The deck has a surprise!  That's my favorite part :)

So I just built this deck trying to utilize the new Title Belt, (And to celebrate Brock's Win!).  The Title Belt Tech with this deck is McMahonism.  If I start the game, I can cycle even more cards with the belt by having McMahonism in play.  The deck plays very cruel hard to reverse maneuvers and toolbox maneuvers for recovery and ring removal.  The deck gets to 35F and activates backed by Paul Heyman to throw out Old School Wrestling Match.  This gives my opponent the choice of eating F-5 or burning 6.  The Evening Up the Odds tech I totally learned from Resk, keeps my hand up while powering Collegiate Champions.  Most of the discarded cards are non-hybrid Maneuvers so I still have access to them with The Baddest Man on the Planet.  This deck has had a little playtesting, and had trouble with BASH/Dynamic moves, so I added Nerve Holds, Ensuguris and Inverted Leg Locks to bolster the reversals.
Does anybody see any giant gaping holes in my strategy, or anything that could use improving?  Thanks for Looking!

The RAW DEAL Revolution

As pretty much ALL of you know, this is my favorite superstar.  I have been playing him since he sucked in premier.   That experience made me the player and deck builder I am today.  I learned how to play from behind and how to become extremely hard to kill.  I also learned how to make every offensive shot count and not to throw just random moves.  This deck is the culmination of all that experience.  It is my finest Mankind deck.  EVER.

The deck was built as a classic deck, but I came to realize that it would probably beat all of my All Axxess deck ideas I could come up with, so I made it AA too.

Strategy:  By Packing Screeching Car Crash, Mankind gets +4 Handsize and his opponent cannot respond to the first 6D or less maneuver of the game.  Preferably an "Arm" card, but not always.  The deck used to have 3 more Arm Drags in it, but they were removed for other things.  If you can't search for the Arm card, this card can have some trouble.  This is a deck flaw that I would look at if played again.

Once your 4F Arm card is in play, your opponent's non-high risk maneuvers do 3D.  Your maneuvers are +4D.  Reverse everything with Clumsy Opponent and Elbow to the Face, or just take it for 3D.  Offensively, throw the Blindside Drop Toe Hold from ringside every turn until it sticks.  Once "Leg" is active your Drop Toe Holds and Inverted Leg Locks are now protected moves and can get you back in the game if you are behind.  Leg drag is a Sneaky way to activate "Leg" while reversing Atomic Lariat, Precision Haymaker, and Maneuver of Doom.  Nerve Hold compliments the Leg Drag, rounding out your reversal capabilities.  Both cards are prime targets for Inverted Leg Lock.  When played correctly, Inverted Leg Lock can be massive unstoppable recovery.

Speaking of massive unstoppable recovery, McMahon Intervention cannot be responded to...Neither can Mouths Writing Checks the Bodies Can't Cash.  These two cards prove to be much more effective recovery than the traditional 3 Faces of Foley or Pay-Per-View Main Event in this environment.

There is a serious lack of actions and ACE's in the deck.  This is to limit the reversals my opponent can play against me.  You will also notice that once I get my first move off, all of the maneuvers I throw unprotected are blindside, non-unique with no printed restrictions.  This makes Get the "F" out, Carlito, and Off your Mark dead cards.  It is also difficult for a BASH deck to defend against.  The Old School Wrestling Match FORCES My opponent to play the game at my pace.  My opponent HAS to throw a 3D move at me every turn or he burns.  It's tough to beat this deck at that pace, nearly impossible :).  Resk's New Age Outlawas had a solution with that Shoot Deck, he just removed all of my cards from the game!  So, it is beatable, but your deck really needs to do something outside of the box to do it.  Mitch's Test Deck lives forever so that's why we had such a good match.  If this deck could pack 2 tenth's and 2 Fifth's I might have lasted even longer too!

Making Your Escape is key to this deck not getting shut down because of Hell In A Cell.  You don't need to activate it every turn, just when you are about to do some major recovery.  Again, this is another effect that can't be stopped.  This card needs a reword to blank Ring Psychology cards instead of Man of 1000 Holds.  If you have never packed this card, take a second look at it.

If I were to change a couple things, it would be to find room to add 2x No Chance It Hell TB's, 1x Shoot Counter, and 2x Shoot Russian Leg Sweep cards.  This would give me a couple more F:0 cards, the shot counter threat, and some more action hate when Don't Cross a McMahon won't work.

A thought on McMahonism.  I think this card is WAY overlooked.  McMahon Intervention is some of the best recovery there is, and it is UNSTOPPABLE!  The main reason I pack it is so that I can pack Don't Cross a McMahon to reverse actions from my Backlash like Cactus Jack,  BANG BANG!  This strategy helped me reverse 4...yes.. 4 See How it Feels attempts in the Final!  Other nasties this card hits are Break it Out, Countless Superstar Specifics, Simply the Best, Shane O Mac Delivers the BASH, ect...

Mouths Writing Checks Bodies Can't Cash was totally overlooked by me when it came out.  I thought it was way too costly.  In a deck like this though, if you don't manipulate your ringside much, this card works great.  I'll usually remove one of the Blindside Slams for an unstoppable late game recovery.  Rarely does the game last long enough to ever pay off that loan.

See How It Feels can be a great way to get rid of cards like F-5, or RKO, so that's why that's there.  Mankind has access to Mind Games, but I thought I'd just hit all of their sidewalk slams with them, so I passed on them.  If I was playing with Mean Gene, that strategy would be totally different.

In summary, I hope people enjoyed watching what kind of match this deck can put on as much as I did.  I didn't build it to be crashing aggro, I built it to be a defensive monster that could go the distance and let me and my opponent actually feel like we were having a wrestling match.  Thanks for the interest and HAVE A NICE DAY!

I put this deck together the night before I left for GENCON while watching a movie staring Dwayne Johnson.  I had a Terry Funk Deck all ready to go but I was thinking to myself, "This deck auto-loses to the Rock.  Who else auto loses to the Rock?  Maybe Hardcore Hell Decks?"  Well I don't know how many auto losses there are, but the deck is pretty solid.

Strategy:
Use Your Chance In the Limelight to make your opponent go first.  He will most likely throw a core.  You will take the 1 damage.  (There isn't really anything in this deck that stops cores specifically, so just eat them.)  If he attempts to play ANYTHING else, you should be able to stop him with your Backlash.

Now, start your turn.  You now have lower fortitude.  You should have a chicken wing from Man of 100 Moves in your Hand.  Throw Team Bring it for F:0 and Momentum, because you have Lower fortitude.  You next maneuver now has momentum.  Get 7 fortitude with 1 core.

At this point you should have access to all of the F:7 target reversals.  This helps like crazy.  Offensively, you do not NEED to play cores anymore unless you are facing an unwanted aggression rule.  Sometimes I actually took the aggression rule just to get to the Double Leg Lock Crabs.  Keep using the Double Leg Lock Crabs in your Ringside to get the rest of your game moving.  Once you burn through all of the Mean reversals, this card has target: Leg and your 2 ring psychology: leg cards will allow you to grab 2 more leg target maneuvers from your Ringside (Sharpshooter & Figure Four) when you successfully play one.  Chop Block and Desperate Hold also have a Leg Target to get this going.

The Rock also has some pretty heavy duty Maneuver/reversal cards that I would hang onto to play as Reversals as long as possible.

There isn't much Antic Hate in this deck.  I pretty much gambled of people being scared to play antics.  I wasn't exactly right about that!  Goth play a TON of Antics, and we had a very enjoyable EPIC game.  The Rock still won though despite his antics.  In no game that I played did an antic played by my opponent actually win him the game.

Drew's Flair deck managed to draw Flair's F:4 antic/momentum Reversal into his opening hand and ruined my starting combo.  Against most of the field, and including that deck, I don't see that happening much.  I had the most fun EVER playing this deck in the Revolution format.  The Format has come a long way.  I hope to play more of it.

Oh, and it Beat that SICK <R>VD deck of Mitch's too.  Not an Easy Feat!
Do NOT overlook this superstar!

Rules Forum / cannot respond vs. rms

If you get to play a card that your opponent cannot respond to, if your card played is a panic grab+(Whatever) what happens?  Does the rms negate the can't respond to text?
