Rules Forum / The extent of Elias ability Qns
« on: October 20, 2019, 09:09:03 AM »
So since Elias is one of the newer superstar in V10, I have came across a couple of uncertainties regarding the extend of his ability, would appreciate if any Rules Guru can help me with it.

Scenario 1: Elias in Cage Match

If Elias played Puppies TB in a cage match and try to convert it into shuffling RFG (which is half, rounded up by default), will the cards shuffle from RFG be 7 divided by 2 equal to 3.5 round up to 4? Or would it be 7 minus 1 from cage match equal 6, divide by 2 equal 3?

Scenario 2: Elias in HiaC

If Elias is trapped in HiaC, would Elias playing Puppies TB allowing him to convert the shuffling from Ringside to RFG and therefore bypassing the entire Ringside lockdown from HiaC?

Scenario 3: When Elias has no Ringside

Will Elias playing Puppies TB be able to convert the shuffling from Ringside to RFG when he has no cards in Ringside in the first place?

Scenario 4: Specific Shuffling

For this Scenario, I will use the card Chained Heat, which when played as an Action, will allow the shuffling of 2 chain cards from Ringside. Will Elias be able to convert the shuffle from Ringside to RFG when he has neither Chain cards in his Ringside nor RFG? Does the replacement effect from his ability negate the specific cards required to shuffle?

Referenced Cards in the Qns:

Starting Hand Size: 6     Superstar Value: 1
Superstar Ability: When you would shuffle cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal, you may instead shuffle half that many cards removed from the game, rounded up, into your Arsenal.
You can pack Playin' a Mean Tune. You cannot pack Divine Intervention.

Old School Cage Match
Pre-match Stipulation
When a card that is not printed: Chain, Heat, Stipulation, Superstar-specific, or Unique moves cards from any Ringside, the number of cards moved is reduced by 1.
When Back to Basics is in your Ring, your Pre-match Capacity is +3, and your opponent cannot play I'm Gonna Break You.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent     RMS logo

Puppies! Puppies!
Cannot be played when your opponent is a Female Superstar.
Shuffle up to 7 cards from your Ringside pile into your Arsenal and draw 2 cards.
F: 14 D: 0

Hell in a Cell Match
Pre-match Stipulation
Run-in cards cannot be played and no card or card effect can move any number of cards from any Ringside pile.
Cards with the Chris Jericho, Kane, Mankind, Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Cactus Jack, Deadman Inc, or Shawn Michaels logos are not affected by this card.
F: 0 D: 0

Chained Heat
Action: Chain / Reversal: Special
As an action, discard this card and then shuffle up to 2 other Chain cards from your Ringside pile into your Arsenal.
As a reversal, you may play this card without discarding any cards, reverse any Chain card and end your opponent's turn.
As a reversal, reverse any Heat card and end your opponent's turn. The reversed card is removed from the game.

Rules Forum / Deadly Diva Duo Tag Team Interaction
« on: June 22, 2019, 07:44:51 AM »
Deadly Diva Duo
Backstage Area
When packing this card, you are a Tag Team and can pack cards as if your Superstar card says you can only play the Tag Team Title belts.
Replace the 'Can only be played' and 'Cannot be played' text on your Gail Kim-specific cards with 'Cannot be reversed'.
When Bald is Beautiful is going to your Ringside or being removed from the game, put it in your Backlash instead.

Does this card allow GKMH to pack Classic Teamwork?
Since the “you are a tag team” isn’t on the superstar ability and classic team work looks for “except the tag team title belts” instead of “can only play the tag team title belts”

In another note, are there any other card examples to validate the need for the “can only play the Tag Team title belts” since I couldn’t find any card which fits that specific wording.

You Think I’m a Psycho?
Pre-match Event
During your turn (even before your Draw Segment), you may put 1 card from your hand under this card. You may play the cards under this card as if they were in your hand.
During your turn you may put this card and all cards under this card into your Ringside pile and then your opponent overturns cards equal to double the number of cards that were under this card.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent

Since it doesn't specify "once during each of your turn", does it mean that within a turn, I can hide 1 card in my hand under psycho as many times as I want?

Rules Forum / The Neutralizer Qns + Blissful DDT

The Neutralizer
Trademark Finisher
This card is -1F and +1D for each Set-up card with a different title in your Ring; when this card is D: 30+ it is Multi and can only be reversed by 2 reversal cards.
During your turn when this card is in your hand, you may reveal it, put it on the bottom of your Arsenal, and put 1 Set-up card or 1 maneuver with 'European' in the title in your hand.

If the damage buff that comes from ecw belt etc got removed by restricted use in this area, does the reversibility of this card revert back to a single finisher?

Not sure if this reference can be taken:

Shoot Lock-up
-The condition of the effect of this card is determined when it is initially played and will not change during the resolution of the maneuver. EXAMPLE: If Ted DiBiase is ahead in Fortitude by 5 or more, and a Shoot Lock-up is played against him, reducing his Fortitude with DiBiase’s ability will not alter the reversal restriction effect of Lock-up.

What Does Everybody Love?
Action + Action
Your opponent's reversal cannot prevent you from playing this card, and he cannot respond to it when Playing Head Games is not in your Ring.
Choose one: put Head from any Area into your Ring, OR shuffle up to 10 cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal and draw up to 2 cards.
When you have both Head and 3 cards with different titles that have "What Does" in the title in your Ring, you win the game via Pinfall Victory.

Does the bold part constantly checks or is it a when it’s resolving its timing breakdown?

Scenario would be, if Al Snow wins via this condition, will Wrestlemania rescue his opponent from the pin fall and carry the game on?

Here Comes the Cavalry!
Action + Action
Cannot be packed when you can pack the Tag Team Title Belts or by a Stable.
When your opponent can pack the Tag Team Title Belts, they discard 2 cards and overturn 2 cards.
Shuffle up to 8 cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal and draw up to 2 cards.  When your Ability has "enforcer" in the text, you may also choose a new Enforcer.

Can The People's Team and Dangerous Alliance pack this card since their ability disallow them from packing any title belts?

Mental Acumen
-If this card and Backstage Politics are in the same Ring Area, the ACE of Acumen cannot be reversed.

Is this quote from Omnifaq a mistake? Because I'm not sure if a card that "cannot be reversed" will result in a "cannot be reversed" ACE.

Mental Acumen
Mid-match Action
Cannot be reversed when the card titled Backstage Politics is in your Ring area.
You may put 1 Face or Heel card from your Ringside pile on the bottom of your Arsenal.
When this card is in your Ring area, once during each of your turns, you may discard 1 Face or Heel card and search your Arsenal for 1 Face or Heel card, reveal it to your opponent, put it into your hand, and shuffle your Arsenal.

Rules Forum / Constant Checking VS One Time Effect
« on: May 11, 2018, 09:03:58 AM »
Hi Rules Peep, would like to check how to know if a card is constantly checking or if it's a one time effect. For example, Enough Shenanigans will constantly blank Kennedy's Ability(even if he swap abilities with White Wedding) and Managed by Eric Bischoff is a one time blanking (allowing First Family to add the +1 Pre text). Is there any specific wording to look out for? Or is it just a "because we are the ppl who created these cards and intends it to be this way, so we said so" kind of answer?

Rules Forum / Your Reach Qns

Your Reach Exceeds Your Grasp
Mid-match Reversal: Special
Reverse any non-Superstar specific card with printed Fortitude greater than your opponent's Fortitude Rating, or any Multi Volley maneuver; he puts the reversed card into his hand.
ACE: During your turn, you may remove this card from the game and then ignore all play restrictions from his effects for the rest of the turn.  This effect cannot be reversed.

Your Reach states that it prevents play restrictions when ACE, does that mean that the opponent can still picked up a volley card from their Ringside if the player ACE Your Reach, played an Action and got his action reversed?

Rules Forum / Blue Blazer Qns
« on: April 13, 2018, 11:39:48 AM »
The Blue Blazer
Starting Hand Size: 5
Superstar Value: 2
Superstar Ability:  Your non-printed-Volley non-Unique maneuvers played from your hand without 'reversed' in the text and the maneuvers in your Arsenal without 'reversed' in the text are now Volley maneuvers, where the Volley: # is equal its printed Damage.
You can pack Super Masks and Super Capes and non-Faction Owen Hart cards, but you are absolutely NOT Owen Hart, no sir, no way.

If a BASH maneuver is packed by Owen Hart, is it considered an illegal construction? Since I'm not sure how will a BASH/Volley maneuver interact with the game rule.

Nostalgia Shenanigans
Backstage Card
This card is considered Superstar-specific.
Your Wrestlemania is considered Superstar-specific for your opponent's effects, and the maximum number of cards any player can move from Ringside for Wrestlemania is 14.
No player can continue their turn more than 3 times, continue the game more than once, search for a Superstar-specific card with Candice Michelle, Guest Ringside Announcer, move a Superstar-specific card from their Ring with Chicago Street Fight, or discard more than 2 cards for the Test Enforcer Ability. When any player discards for an opponent's Cole Enforcer Ability, he then draws up to 1 card.
Unique     RMS logo

If the attempt to continue the game got reversed, would a second attempt consider to be legal? Since the game wasn't continued at least once before.

The Immortal One received an RKO played as a reversal and got pinned by it. The Immortal One attempt to continue the game by activating Wrestlemania, Randy Orton played a Don't Try This At Home to reverse the ACE. Will The Immortal One be able to attempt to activate Through All These Years to prevent a pinfall victory?

Rules Forum / The Manbeast of NXT Qns

The Manbeast of NXT
Backstage Card
When packing this card, you can pack From NXT to WWE and your F:5- maneuvers are considered F:0 and Foreign Objects for your Rhyno-specific cards, but you cannot pack non-Superstar-specific Foreign Objects.
During any turn when you successfully play a maneuver with printed Stun Value, choose one: Promo: 2, put up to 1 non-reversal card from Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal, or remove 1 card in your opponent’s Ringside from the game.
Unique     RMS logo     NXT logo

If my F:5- maneuvers are considered Foreign Objects for Rhyno-specific cards (which means including The Manbeast of NXT itself) and I can't pack non-Superstar-specific Foreign Objects, does that mean I basically can't pack F:5- maneuvers?!

And that means I'll have to rely on non-maneuver cards to gain my starting fortitude?

Rules Forum / Restricting opponent from playing cards
« on: January 13, 2018, 06:28:36 PM »
Can I check if imposing a clause on opponent is consider as preventing from playing cards?

More specific examples:

Ring Psychology: Back
Pre-match Event
If you have 3 or more Grapple or Submission maneuvers in your Ring area with the word(s) "back," "power," or "slam" in the title, your opponent must discard 1 card from his hand in order to play a Grapple or High Risk maneuver.
If you have 6 or more Grapple or Submission maneuvers in your Ring area with the word(s) "back," "power," or "slam" in the title, your opponent cannot play Grapple or High Risk maneuvers.

Old School Wrestling Match - Throwback
Pre-match Stipulation
If any player's turn ends after his Draw Segment without attempting to play a maneuver, he overturns 6 cards.  Turns cannot be skipped, and non-Superstar-specific cards cannot prevent an opponent from playing maneuvers.
When Back to Basics is in your Ring, your Pre-match Capacity is +3, and your opponent cannot play I'm Gonna Break You.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent     RMS logo

Does the first part of Ring Psychology: Back prevent opponent from playing Grapple/High Risk if opponent has no hand, but at the same time, OSWM TB will kick in to negate the effect? At the same time, if discarding is plausible for the opponent, will it be mandatory for him to make the discard?

Another example:

#638/643 Indian Strap Match (SS2) (RUMBLE PACK FOIL)
Pre-match Stipulation
Any player discards 1 card in order to play a non-Set-up Action card.

The Eater of Worlds
Backstage Card
Your opponent's cards and effects cannot prevent you from playing Actions (including the Volley trait).  When you would overturn any number of cards for his non-damage card effects, you may instead remove the top card of your Arsenal from the game.

Likewise similar to the first example, just that it's action in this sense.

Appreciate any help given.

Rules Forum / The Phenomenal One Qns
« on: December 30, 2017, 09:01:46 AM »
The Phenomenal One
Backstage Card
Your Pre-match Capacity is +1 for each AJ Styles-specific Pre-match card in your Ring, and your maneuvers with 1 printed Stun Value are +1 Stun Value.
Once during any turn, you may discard 1 card to play a card in your Ringside with 'kick' or 'lash' in the title as if from hand or Backlash; when the played card is Unique, discard 1 random card instead.
When you have lower Fortitude and play a maneuver from Ringside, reversals to it deal a maximum of 1D.

So is the "kick" or "lash" considered play from hand/backlash or ringside?

If it's considered play from hand, then wouldn't Phenomenal Dropkick always considered to be played from hand? Making the "when play from hand" text redundant.

Phenomenal Dropkick
High Risk
Can only be played after a successfully played card or as a Counter.
When played from hand, your opponent must discard 1 random card from his Backlash in order to play reversals to this card.
F: 0     D: 8      SV: 1     Unique

If it's considered play from Ringside, then does that mean that AJ Styles wouldn't have to discard 2 cards against chain maneuver for playing Backlash as a reversal from Ringside?

Thanks for any assistance.

Rules Forum / Gallows & Anderson Ability
« on: December 29, 2017, 05:35:43 PM »
Starting Hand Size: 6     Superstar Value: 3
Tag Team Superstar Ability: When your opponent plays a maneuver, you may overturn 5 cards and his maneuver loses any reversal restrictions from a card.
When you have fewer cards in hand and lower Fortitude, and your first card played on your turn is a maneuver, he can only play 1 reversal to it.
You cannot pack any Title Belts except the Tag Team Title Belts.

If Gallows & Anderson managed to modified their ability-protected maneuver (title on the line etc), will opponent still be able to play a reversal to it after playing Restricted Use in this Area?

Restricted Use in This Area
Mid-match Reversal: Special
Can only be played after your opponent plays a card that he has modified by other cards.
Disregard all modifications made to that card by other cards until the end of the turn.
You may still play Reversal cards to that card.

Rules Forum / Calf Crusher Qns
« on: December 25, 2017, 09:02:35 AM »
New set, new qns!

Calf Crusher
Submission + Trademark Finisher
Can only be reversed by 2 D:0 cards.
When your next card played this turn is Maintain Hold, your opponent must discard 1 card in order to play reversals to it.

Maintain Hold (SS3) (RUMBLE PACK FOIL) Throwback
Action + Action
Can only be played after a successfully played non-Restricted-Modification-Symbol Submission maneuver.
End your turn. The maintained maneuver is not considered a Multi maneuver. You and your opponent cannot play any cards that do not reverse the maintained maneuver until it is reversed. Once during each of your turns, the maintained maneuver does its damage along with any effects. If the maintained maneuver is reversed, it is no longer considered maintained.

How will the 2 bolded text interact? Does the maintained Calf Crusher still need 2 reversals? If it's not a multi, how will it be legal for opponent to play/generate 2 reversals to it?

Rules Forum / "As if" interaction with RMS
« on: December 17, 2017, 09:46:27 PM »
I would like to know if the term "as if" is considered as modifying a card. More concrete example below:

Arn Anderson
Starting Hand Size: 4     Superstar Value: 4
WCW Legend Ability: Your maneuvers with 'buster', 'breaker', and 'knee'  in the title are WCW, -4F and +4D.
You may play hybrid reversals as if they are D:0 and/or non-hybrid; when you do and that reversal is not Superstar-specific, it deals a maximum of 4D.
You can pack Brain Busters cards without 'spike' in the title (they are now WCW cards instead).

Now obviously there's already post and discussion that state that his ability would not work with Frankie Takes Hollywood in the ring.
However I found something contradicting:

Hall of Fame Stratusfaction
Backstage Card
Can only be packed by Trish Stratus.
When packing this card, you may pack cards with 'bulldog' in the title as if they are not Heel or Smackdown, and when this card is revealed, they are +1D and you may ignore the 'Can only be played...' text.
When your opponent moves one of your action or Superstar-specific cards from the Ring, you may put it in your Ringside instead.
Before each of your Draw Segments, you may discard 1 card or overturn 2 cards, and then your Ability is blank for the rest of the turn.

The whole point of allowing Trish to pack "bulldog" as if they are not Smackdown is for Diving Bulldog, but as it has RMS, wouldn't it still be an illegal pack?

Thanks for any explaination.

Classic Raw Deal / The Total Package Strength of Allied Powers
« on: November 03, 2017, 02:14:56 PM »
The Total Package
Starting Hand Size: 6     Superstar Value: 3
WWF Superstar Ability: Your cards cannot be modified by non-Backstage card effects or your opponent's Ability.
You may pack No Sell Maneuver cards and Lex Luger cards, replace "dynamic" with "BASH" in their text, and they are WWF cards instead of WCW or nWo cards.

Strength of Allied Powers
Mid-match Action
During your turn, you may put this card from your Backlash into your Ring.
When your card is unsuccessful, you may put it under this card.
When you have at least 3 cards under this card that include 1 maneuver, 1 action, and 1 reversal, your maneuvers cannot be reversed by non-Unique reversals from hand.
During his turn, your opponent may discard 3 cards and overturn 3 cards, and then you put all cards under this card into your Ringside.

Since from the bolded text, it seems that Strength of Allied Powers isn't able to interact with The Total Package ability, so is there another reason to pack it since his v8 card kinda encourage it?

Made in the U.S.A.
Backstage Card
Replace 'classic' with 'BASH' on your Classic Competitor.
Once during each of your turns, when your maneuver is unsuccessful, your opponent discards 1 card and you may put 1 card from your Ringside under Strength of Allied Powers.
Your opponent cannot play non-Unique reversals to your Lex Luger-specific actions or Luger's Running Forearm, and when you successfully play Luger's Running Forearm as a maneuver, he overturns 7 cards and you put up to 4 cards from your Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal.

Rules Forum / Live for the Moment TB
« on: October 27, 2017, 01:51:19 PM »
Live For the Moment - Throwback
Backstage Card
Replace 'Volley' with 'High Risk' in your Managed by Lita.
Once during each of your turns when you successfully play a maneuver, you may discard 1 card and when your next card played this turn is a Unique High Risk, you may ignore the "Can only be played..." text, it is +3D and +1 Stun Value; when you do and your maneuver is reversed, you may discard 2 cards and continue your turn, but your next card played can only be a Unique High Risk, and when damage is applied from that card, end your turn.

Am I right to say that the Unique High Risk played in the bolded text doesn't have its "can only be played after..." text ignored?

Rules Forum / Ken Shamrock cards qns
« on: September 03, 2017, 04:23:27 AM »
Starting Hand Size: 7     Superstar Value: 3
Superstar Ability: When you have 30- cards in your Arsenal, your first maneuver played each turn without 'reversed' in the text is Multi and +4D.
When your maneuver played from hand is unsuccessful, you may overturn 3 cards and put the maneuver into hand instead; when that maneuver has 'shoot' or 'Shamrock' in the title, put up to 1 non-reversal card from your Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal.
You can pack No Sell Maneuver and Mixed Martial Arts Specialist.

Since the bold line is separated by a semi-colon, does that mean that Shamrock can do the recovery without burning 3 to keep the maneuver in his hand?

He's About to SNAP!
Action + Action
Search your Arsenal for up to 6 cards (when you have lower Fortitude, up to 10 cards instead) and put them under this card, then draw up to 4 cards.
During your turn when this card is in your Ring, you may remove it from the game.
When this card is moved from your Ring, shuffle all cards under it and up to 2 other cards removed from the game into your Arsenal.

F: 10     D: 0     Unique     Multi

Since the last 2 line is separated as 2 paragraphs, does that mean it was intentionally done so to avoid it being an ACE?

Rollins' Kip-Up
Reversal: Special
Can only be played when your opponent successfully plays a maneuver from hand.  He puts the maneuver in his hand instead, it is not considered successfully played, and end his turn.
Shuffle up to 1 card from your Ringside into your Arsenal and draw 1 card.
When this card is in your Ringside and you successfully play a maneuver, you may shuffle it into your Arsenal.

So is the maneuver successfully played for outside effects to take place in the first place? (Eg. ECW ONS, Goldust Ability etc)

Because the first line and second line seems to contradict each other. Or should it be worded more like Paul Heyman Interferes?

Heyman Interferes
Reversal: Special
Can only be played when you have 2+ cards with 'Heyman' in the title in your Ring and/or Ringside; when you have 4+ cards with 'Heyman' in the title in your Ring, this card is -7F.
Can only be played when your opponent plays a card, he puts that card into his hand (or Backlash, if applicable), it is considered not to be played, and end his turn; when you have 4+ cards with 'Heyman' in the title, you may put his card into his Ring, Ringside, or remove it from the game instead.
