I'm going to add a note to the VFAQ with a listing of sub-classes, because it's tucked into one part of the OmniFAQ and deserves to be more visible.

Yeah, Intellectual Savior only cares about choices on the card that you're actually playing, not outside choices. No interaction with One Night Stand.

I thought that the Bash restriction is a deck construction restriction and therefore is already passed by the time that Owen's ability would kick in since he doesn't affect packing only how the cards are treated during game.

We have a winner.

Blazer's Ability doesn't mention anything about Arsenal construction or "when packed." It kicks on when the game begins, so BASH Blazer is a totally legitimate thing to do, and the BASH cards will become Volley. Unfortunately, a lot of Volley's support is also Volley itself, so that's not so great, but... that's outside of the scope of the Rules Forum.

By the way, I have no idea why Owen Hart was mentioned, but the same thing applies to him too. BASH Owen would not be illegal.

No, if you choose to do that effect, you have to do all of it. The Ringside movement doesn't say "up to 1," so if you have a card in Ringside and you flip a card in your Ring face-down after playing a blank card, you have to move the card from Ringside to bottom of Arsenal.

Since it's triggered, though, it works fine if you don't have a card in your Ringside; you'll do what you can.

You Feeling Lucky TB: As long as the card has the type named in any form for your card effects, Lucky can't trigger. A Strike + Grapple won't trigger Lucky unless your opponent named Submission.

By the way, Chair Shot is always an excellent example.

As currently worded, the opponent would have to choose multiple cards to trigger the switch text, yes.

Yup, as long as the card named is valid (i.e. it's a maneuver in some part), it cannot be played, even in non-maneuver modes.

The Manbeast of NXT now reads as:

The Manbeast of NXT
Backstage Card
When packing this card, you can pack From NXT to WWE and your F:5- maneuvers are considered F:0 and Foreign Objects for your other Rhyno-specific cards and effects, but you cannot pack non-Superstar-specific printed Foreign Objects.
During any turn when you successfully play a maneuver with printed Stun Value, choose one: Promo: 2, put up to 1 non-reversal card from Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal, or remove 1 card in your opponent’s Ringside from the game.
Unique     RMS logo     NXT logo
V8

This errata takes effect immediately.

Consider it instantly errataed to say "your other Rhyno cards" and I'll put a note in the errata thread to that effect.

Any attempts to continue the game that don't actually continue the game don't count for Nostalgia Shenanigans. Immortal One can still use Through All Of These Years.

niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ick is correct. Bookerman's Ability triggers on each and every Volley card that he plays. Each trigger must be dealt with independently.

Dilbert is correct. You remove one of the applicable reversals.

Yes, same deal. Legacy does their fancy stuff, tells Braun that the maneuver's damage is taken care of, and Braun replies, "I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU YET!" and crams the damage down their throat.

Legacy's Ability loses to Braun's.

No, Let's Make Some Noise just has really old templating. If it was written in the modern style, it would say, "Whenever you discard cards, draw the same number of cards."

I wouldn't expect to see anything on this front anytime soon. Not that I hate the idea, but it has to go to the back of the queue.

As always, this is not a promise of anything.

OmniFAQ:

Chain (Trait)
-When you play a Chain card, your opponent may discard 2 cards. If he does, he can reverse it from his hand or Backlash deck. If he does not, it cannot be reversed from his hand or Backlash deck.  When you successfully play a Chain card and damage has been applied, you may discard 2 cards and then search your Arsenal for 1 Chain card, reveal it to him, put it into your hand, and shuffle your Arsenal.

The discard portion of the Chain trait is worded just like KMA, so it interacts with Initiation in the same way: it doesn't.

Creed and I finally had a chance to discuss applicable reversals. Here's where we ended up.

Our consensus is that "applicable" means "I could use this, where it is, to reverse the current card." Prior precedent tells us that you don't need Fortitude for a card to be applicable. Aside from that, other legality checks still apply; so Vickie keeps things from being applicable (because she's telling you that you can't use that card), and Backlash is only applicable to not-the-first-maneuver and if you're behind on Fortitude.

In short: we want to avoid making this a "rulesy" topic with a lot of ignore-this and don't-consider-that, cut it down to a very straightforward sort of thing that parallels actually playing the game.

No, Mitch, Throttled + FLAU does not kill the entire deck, and we can both read the OmniFAQ.

Creed and I talked this one over, and the consensus is clear: Drywall is correct. Initiation triggers off of Forced discard. If you have an option to not discard cards, the discard isn't forced, and Initiation doesn't apply. KMA is not a forced discard, because you could choose not to discard, so Initiation doesn't interact.

« on: March 13, 2018, 11:13:27 AM »
Yes. Clobberin' Time's effect is directly relevant to the Fortitude check, so it kicks in during the Fortitude check. You don't have to be able to pass the Fortitude check without the bonus +3F from Clobberin' Time in order to get the bonus +3F.

« on: March 11, 2018, 03:40:41 AM »
Yes, if you end up with cards in your hand during the Pre-match phase, you can stick them under Keibler's Cookies. Note that you can't stick cards under the Cookies in the middle of playing another card or drawing your Starting Hand Size.
