Yes, your opponent would choose double # random cards and then you decide if they're discarded or shuffled back.

Mind Games: You get to purge the opponent's Arsenal of both cards that got discarded.

Throw Down: You can choose any number, but you don't know what numbers are legal to choose... except for 0, so you have to pick that. Nothing happens.

My favourite superhero makes an important distinction that I'm going to hammer on again: reversing an ACE does NOT automatically kick the card that generated that ACE out of the Ring. The reversal to the ACE has to specifically say that it moves the card for that to happen, like Don't Try This at Home does.

Rules Forum / Re: Dude Love question
« on: August 13, 2019, 10:40:35 PM »
Dude Love was written before the "pack" rules term. If Dude Love was written today, he'd say, "You can pack up to 3 Mankind and up to 3 Cactus Jack Superstar cards in your Arsenal."

Right, okay. We worded it that way because it needed to be clear that the whole situation, including the damage from the reversal to Sami's card, needed to be over and done with before you Promo.

It's a no, because blanking the damage means that it's not a 1D+ card anymore.

In general, the difference between "damage has been applied" and "card has resolved" is that the latter waits until everything else is done and the card's Timing Sequence is completely over, whereas the former applies during step 9c or 9d, depending on whose it is. I'm struggling to think of anywhere where we actually ask you to wait until the card is done resolving, though.

Rules Forum / Re: Card Errata
« on: August 04, 2019, 11:23:35 AM »
Updating Bionic Kicking Machine to reflect design intent:

Bionic Kicking Machine
Pre-match Event
Can only be packed by Stone Cold Steve Austin.  Cannot be packed by Two-Man Power Trip.
Search your Arsenal for up to 3 Superstar-specific cards with the word "kick" in the title, reveal them, put them under this card, and shuffle your Arsenal. You may play cards under this card as if they were in your hand and they can only be reversed by Unique reversals; when successfully played, you may search your Arsenal for STUNNER!, reveal it, put it into your hand, and shuffle your Arsenal.
Replace the "Can only be" text with "Cannot be reversed when" on your STUNNER! cards.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent     RMS logo

This errata takes effect immediately.

I'll just make it errata. You can play anything under Bionic Kicking Machine.

Yes, even you can't stop yourself from playing Bludgeon Brothers. It's legal with Back to Basics.

Rules Forum / Re: Kozlov Question
« on: August 03, 2019, 09:23:50 PM »
Dilbert is usually right on the money, and I trust his calls.

This isn't one of those times.

This is exactly the same situation as Test packing Backstage Shenanigans as a Mid-match or MNM packing My Game, My Way! as a Pre-match. If you pack A Quick BASH-ing! as a Mid-match, then by its own text, you aren't packing it as a Pre-match, so things that look for Pre-match cards, of any specification, won't see it. Kozlov can pack A Quick BASH-ing! in the Mid and play it as a Pre, 100% legal.

Rules Forum / Re: Funaki: WWE #1 Japanese Commentator

This is one of those things where we're too busy looking at the tree to notice the forest. Rachelmon is totally correct.

Rules Forum / Re: Funaki: WWE #1 Japanese Commentator
« on: August 02, 2019, 08:07:16 PM »
Yes. The reversal effect from Japanese Commentator is coming from a unique card, and Raisin' Hell doesn't ask it to be a unique Reversal card like, say, Atomic Lariat does.

Japanese Commentator only works on Actions played from hand, not Mid-match ones.

Is this considered a Title Belt (since I don't see "Belt" in the title of the card)?

Yes. The word "Title Belt" does not need to be in the title of the card for it to count as a Title Belt.

"It" refers to Roar of the Silverback, so you can recycle it and Roar again later.

Rules Forum / Re: My Name is Matt Striker....
« on: July 19, 2019, 06:21:20 PM »
All copies of My Name is Matt Striker and I Am Your Teacher trigger independently and can all be put out on the same trigger.

I would give that player a game loss, rather than a tournament disqualification. I agree with the assessment that cheating requires malicious intent, and the player turning themselves in demonstrates, to me, a lack of malicious intent.

The only thing that would make me wonder if it was deliberate cheating would be if he did it in the round immediately preceding the top cut AND if deck checks are common practice between Swiss and the cut. I could see a case for using a malformed deck to breeze through Swiss and then falling on his sword in the last round to get into the top cut with a legal deck.

In any case, the decision that the judges made on the floor is absolutely correct and worth standing by, because they have more information on the environment and demeanor of the players involved than we do in the cheap seats.

Rules Forum / Re: The King's Throne

Correct, Throne says that the cards are played as if from hand.

Rules Forum / Re: The King's Throne
« on: July 13, 2019, 05:50:15 PM »
No, The King's Throne only gives you permission to play maneuvers from under it. As soon as you declare your intention to play a hybrid, its other types disappear, so King's Throne stops giving permission to play the card and the whole process crashes.

They're both Show's effects, so he gets to decide the order in which they're applied. If it's more advantageous for him that a maneuver is 5D and not 4D, he can apply the Title first.

So with controlling the pace of the match when it's time to pick up cards from ringside do I get 2 cards+1 or 4+1?

You get however many you discarded, plus one. The overturn has no bearing on how many cards you pick up.

Rules Forum / Re: Enforces Stephanie Drawing a Blank
« on: July 02, 2019, 07:38:04 PM »
Yes, using the Stephanie Enforcer makes your Ability read exactly the same as your opponent's. If theirs is blank, yours is blank, too.

(Also, that FAQ entry is for Stephanie McMahon, the Superstar, not the Shane / Steph Enforcer.)

Once Desperate Struggle finishes resolving, it reverts back to being a Maneuver: Special.
