Yes, the Belts double them and Best in the World At What We Do double them again, for a total of x4.

That's correct, Drywall. Activating Irish Whip TB won't let you play Missile Shoulder Block.

Virtual Raw Deal / Re: Strowman versus Lesnar
« on: January 21, 2018, 03:56:24 PM »
Strowman completely ignores Brock's Ability. Saying that you can't do a thing trumps text that lets you do the thing, in all cases, unless the text that does the thing specifically says that it isn't affected by things.

There is also no general rule that Abilities rule the roost and trump everything else. Brock's Ability doesn't negate the RMS and reduce the damage on Atomic Lariat, for example, for the same reasoning above: "you can't modify me" beats any attempt at a modification, unless that modification specifically says that it works regardless of the effect that blocks it. (We generally don't try to trump the RMS, because that gets into weird situations.)

TL;DR: "Can't" > "can".

An Ability would have to specifically say that it overrides a pack restriction on a card to allow you to ignore that restriction. "You can pack No Sell Maneuver" specifically overrides the restriction on No Sell that says who can pack it, and nothing else.

No. If a Smackdown maneuver stops being Smackdown midway through its Timing Sequence, then Vickie can't protect it. This is a straight Bookkeeping Rule question.

Nope. Bottoming the card is part of the cost. If you can't do that, then you're not paying the cost, and if you want to play (an ACE), then you gotta pay.

That's correct.

That'll be right up there with the Batista superstar card with a basketball picture. Not likely.

No, it is not hybrid. The card would have to specifically say that it makes it a hybrid.

CRASHER is dead on. Your deck only has to be legal when you sit down to play, there are no legality checks mid-game. Blanking Shawn's Ability has no appreciable game effect... except for enabling blank-Ability perks, of course.

By that logic, Managed by Paul Heyman would count. Just... no. God, no.

Confirming Mitch here. If we meant 1+ to be "greater than 1," we would have used the existing greater-than symbol, >. 1+ means "1 or greater."

Rules Forum / Re: Restricting opponent from playing cards
« on: January 13, 2018, 10:00:27 PM »
Applying a "you must do X to play this card" effect to an opponent is preventing him from playing maneuvers unless he does X. Old School Wrestling Match will keep you from having to discard to RP: Back, and Eater of Worlds keeps Bray from having to discard to Indian Strap Match.

In both cases, the affected player CAN discard if they want to; there's just no consequence if they don't.

Rules Forum / Re: Dean's rebound lariat
« on: January 12, 2018, 11:31:22 AM »
Playing Rebound Lariat is an outside effect to the reversal that completely reverses the maneuver that you played beforehand. Rebound Lariat has to fully resolve before the reversal's text and damage will apply. It is entirely possible to pin the opponent with a Rebound Lariat while a reversal whose damage can pin you waits its turn, in which case you'll win before the reversal damage would do anything.

Debu is correct. The Rebound Lariat doesn't delete the end-the-turn effect, it just makes it hang while a card is resolving. Once nothing is resolving anymore, the end-the-turn effect will kick in and do what it says on the tin.

Virtual Raw Deal / Re: reversing a multi
« on: January 11, 2018, 11:40:33 AM »
Tim is correct. When you play a reversal, you resolve that card in full before you continue resolving the maneuver. If I play A Revolution of the Mind to a Multi, it deals its 1D and I draw a card before anything else happens with the Multi. If I happen to draw into another legal reversal, I can then continue to play that card, or any other legal reversal that I have access to.

Having Premiere nWo Superstar change your WCW cards to nWo cards would be extremely thematic as well.

Yep, it kicks on during packing. You can pack Jinder stuff, Underrated, and Drawing a Blank with All Together Now. Drywall is correct.

Rules Forum / Re: Norman Smiley Question
« on: January 02, 2018, 01:17:37 PM »
Debu is half-right. Removing the reversed maneuver is not part of the cost of the ACE on the WCW Title Belt TB, it's part of the effect. Ralphus says that it redirects the maneuver regardless of other effects, so WCW Title Belt TB's movement can be superseded by Ralphus and the rest of the ACE will work fine.

He's spot on regarding searching for Chain, though. No matter when in the Timing Sequence an end-the-turn effect triggers, it waits for everything else to finish up before it resolves. You get a chance to use triggers, like the Chain trait, before the turn ends.

Knee to the Gut is not a D: 0 card, it is a D: # card. Overshot Your Mark's updated wording in SS3 has no impact on another card, and Knee to the Gut's SS2 printing still has it as D: #.

Rules Forum / Re: The Phenomenal One Qns
« on: December 30, 2017, 07:09:14 PM »
The kick/lash is considered played from hand (or Backlash, where applicable). Phenomenal Dropkick's text will always trigger unless you find a way besides Phenomenal One to play it from Ringside that doesn't say "as if from hand."

Rules Forum / Re: Gallows & Anderson Ability
« on: December 29, 2017, 05:50:38 PM »
No, that part of Restricted Use just means that it doesn't eat up the 1 response per card that the game rules allow you. It doesn't supersede Gallows and Anderson's Ability.

"Capacity" always refers to either Pre-match or Mid-match Capacity, the amount of those cards that you can play to your Ring. Capacity never refers to anything to do with the hand. Drywall is correct.

Rules Forum / Re: Paiges's Rage Question
« on: December 28, 2017, 01:53:19 AM »
All reversals *that reverse cards* end the current turn, unless they state otherwise. Reversals that don't reverse anything (like Sustained Damage) don't end the turn without specific text to do so. Paige's Rage has no such text, so it does not end the turn. Paige just yells off the pain of the maneuver, leaving the opponent an opportunity to hit her again (or walk into a Backlash / Graceful as a Cow on Ice).

Rules Forum / Re: Calf Crusher Qns

I can confirm that Eric RD is correct. "Can only be reversed by 2 reversal cards" is a reversal restriction, and that text forces the Timing Sequence to continue until 2 reversal cards are played or the card is successful, regardless of whether Multi is present or not.
