Rules Forum / Re: Card Errata
« on: December 13, 2018, 04:03:52 PM »
Hit Your Knees and Start Prayin'
Backstage Card
When your opponent's effects cause you to move cards from your hand during the Pre-match phase, you may then draw 1 card.  When his effects would let him look at your hand or Backlash, or cause you to reveal your hand or Backlash, he discards 1 random card.
When you have 10- lower Fortitude, you may hide this card and when your next card played this turn is a non-Run-in printed F:0 maneuver, it cannot be reversed from hand.
Unique     RMS logo

The "10-" text on this card is in error. It is considered to say "10+" instead, i.e. you hide this card when your Fortitude Rating is at least 10 lower than the opponent's.

This errata takes effect immediately.

That is a transcription error. It should say 10+, as in you are behind by at least 10.

I'll update the errata document. Consider this instant errata.

And sometimes a dude who's just blank with almost nothing on his Superstar card!

I'm still Super bummed that my original idea for Sin Cara didn't work out.

You know what I'm not bummed about, though? Virtual 9. This set really came together.

Also despite it having gameplay effects, being 'female' is not actually ever listed on the cards anywhere thanks to CI not doing so either. All of the superstars you list are considered female for gameplay purposes.

Gender isn't listed because it was assumed to be obvious. Oh, the halcyon days of 2002...

(The only time that it's been kinda muddy is Right to Censor, since Ivory is in there, but RtC counts as male because she's outnumbered by four dudes.)

Asuka's Furisode and Mask can absolutely search for Knee Lift and Takedown.

Diamond Cutter's discard triggers when successful, as long as it was played as a Counter or after a successfully played card.

Correct, the Back Throw in that case would jump straight to dealing damage, and any reversal overturned for damage would be the second reversal to the Multi and finish reversing the card. Divine Intervention completely reverses the card, so there's no damage application, because the card has already been completely reversed.

Yeah, the cards have to be legal plays before they become Chain. "When played" effects that directly reduce Fortitude work before the Fortitude check (because they have to), but other "when played" effects wait until the Fortitude is checked.

Unfortunately, it'll do so After the Fortitude check, but it keeps you safe from Undermine, at least?

Rules Forum / Re: Doubt about Wrestlemania!
« on: November 29, 2018, 06:20:34 PM »
Wrestlemania is activated as soon as the Pinfall triggers from the reversal's damage. It is still your opponent's turn, because turns can't end with things like Damage pending. You can reverse his Wrestlemania with any ACE reversal in this case.

The only time that you can't use an ACE reversal on Wrestlemania is if it triggers during your turn, because you can't reverse stuff on your own turn unless the reversal specifically lets you.

What a manly combination!

Rules Forum / Re: General Questions

1) Reach is one reversal, it doesn't completely reverse cards. If it's the first reversal to a Multi, like Sucker Punch TB, it can't move the Multi, because it's still in the middle of its Timing Sequence. The second reversal will act normally, and Reach's redirection effect will be ignored.

2) Reversing a card's text is the same as reversing the card. If you reverse the burn from Back Throw, you reversed Back Throw, and it won't deal damage, because it was reversed.

If Bobby Heenan also drew two cards a turn and got +3D on all of his maneuvers, yeah.

Hell, A No Show can dig it out in your Face / Unaligned deck, if you're willing to lose another card in your Arsenal to the RFG pile...

... or if there's something that you really want removed from the game in the first place...

And as World Championship Athleticism is a Storyline, you generally won't have a way to play it before the Feud phase to make It's True! It's True! Face and Heel again, so you won't get stung by Linda and the Board.

World Championship Athleticism will not make your Arsenal illegal. If your deck is legal when you sit down to play (considering any "when packed" effects on cards you're packing), then you're fine, and no change during the game can make your deck illegal. Not only can you keep It's True! It's True!, but something that looks for a Face or Heel card can find it!

When you have World Champion Athleticism in your Ring, you don't have your old ability anymore, just the new one that Athleticism granted you.

Athleticism decouples YFH from Chain, so you can run whatever archetype you like. Intensity, Integrity, and Intelligence will be very helpful to pretty much any build, so go nuts.

Deluding Yourself is an Action that makes you draw four cards, but you discard your hand at the end of the turn.

Distract the Ref makes you draw a card, then you look at your opponent's hand and discard all Disqualification! cards he has in it. (This number is intensely likely to be 0.)

The Most Recent Printing rule says that the most recent printing of a card is authoritative; any older printing of that card (with the sole exception of Throwbacks) immediately defaults to the most recent printing's text.

ALL versions of The People's Elbow read as the SS3 People's Elbow. ALL versions of Took That on the Chin read as the SS3 Chin.

It shouldn't be that surprising; support takes feedback about the Superstar in mind. New Superstar sets are designed whole-cloth and tuned from there, so that can be done sets in advance.

Fantasy Cards / Re: Will Raven be getting any new Virtual card?
« on: November 11, 2018, 10:51:31 PM »
This isn't TNA Raw Deal or Impact Raw Deal, and Raven never had a Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match in WWE. I wouldn't count on it.

This phenomenon is called a "replacement effect," and that isn't stopped by the RMS.

Hidden cards don't affect the game unless they have text to either specifically affect the game while hidden, or text that instructs you to reveal them (which would obviously only be relevant while they're hidden).

Rules Forum / Re: RMS the ongoing questions that never seem to resolve
« on: November 11, 2018, 10:43:19 PM »
Santino is absolutely correct on all of these, I just want to clarify:

Springboard's modification doesn't just affect reversals. The card stops being a Strike and becomes a High Risk for all purposes from the point that it's a legal play until it finishes its Timing Breakdown. If Wade Barrett played Springboard into a Clothesline, the Clothesline would stop being Chain as soon as it became a High Risk.

No, you need to be resolving Awesome Pyro cards in order to put cards under the Chyna Cannon.

Moving this to the Rules Forum.
