Still takes a slot, but you can put a card into your Ring even if your slots are full.

Just to confirm: Zeke draws his Starting Hand Size. There'd be no point in locking it down otherwise. If we meant for Zeke to not draw his starting hand, we'd just say, "Your Starting Hand Size is 0," or something of the like.

I'll throw a note on the revisions pile to adjust the text for clarity.

That's okay. I don't care what they say about me, either.

Rules Forum / Re: Card Errata
« on: June 09, 2018, 09:10:59 AM »
Two bits of errata for today. First, Muhammad Hassan: this just gets him to where he was always intended to be (and played as), so it's just a clarity fix.

Muhammad Hassan
Starting Hand Size: 7     Superstar Value: 3
Superstar Ability:  Your Unique non-Action cards are now Heat.  When you successfully play a non-printed-Heat Unique card from Ringside, overturn 5 cards.
You may play printed Heat reversals from hand; ignore the "When played from your Ringside pile" text on those cards.  Replace the "Al Snow" text with "Muhammad Hassan" on your Headstrong cards. Your Camel Clutch cards are Heat and -3F.
You cannot pack Wrestlemania or Corners.

Secondly, Dishing Out Old School Beatings, the APA card from Virtual 8. No more looping Ready to Fights with it.

Dishing Out Old School Beatings
Pre-match Event
Cannot be blanked.
When this card is in your Ring, your maneuvers are +1D, your APA-specific cards do not take up a Mid-match slot in your Ring, and your APA-specific actions can only be reversed by Superstar-specific cards.
ACE: Once during each of your turns, you may overturn 4 cards and either put up to 2 non-Chain Backlash cards from your Ringside into your Backlash or put up to 2 cards from your Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal;  when you use this effect, you may discard 2 cards, if you do, it cannot be reversed.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent

Both of these errata are in effect immediately.

All right, let's cut through the miasma here by starting with the intent during playtesting.

The "can only be played from Ringside if you have 5 or more..." text was interpreted thusly: "If you have 5 or more other Heat cards in your Ringside, you can play this card from Ringside." The fact that the cards only do something from Ringside is evident in the "When played from Ringside," text. In other words, it's reminder text for the Heat trait because Blindside reversals exist and allow Ringside play without needing cards. So leaving it there will technically be okay, but we can be clearer there.

The mix-up on "When played from Ringside" versus "When played from Your Ringside" is an artifact of Hassan coming from V3, when we were already pretty deep into speaking Virtual and nobody checked up on the specific wording of the Heat reversals. I'll take responsibility for that one.

So, let's fix it. I'm willing to dole out some errata to make Hassan work. Let's kill two birds with one stone and make Hassan read thusly:

I'll add that to the errata list. Consider it immediately in effect.

I'm just gonna errata this one. Dishing Out Old School Beatings can't move Chain Backlash cards anymore. Consider this effect in place immediately.

If you don't have a team to support but want to back someone, post here and I will draw a random team for you to back in the World Cup.

Eh, give me a random team. Let's make this interesting.

Hoi, Creed. Sometimes, people just can't believe that the text is as generous as it actually is, so they want to make sure that we really meant that.

Yes, we really meant that. If we meant that the action had to be 3F- globally, we would say something like, "Your first 3F- Action played from hand that is Fan Favorite or Cheater" or so on. We didn't because it doesn't. Kristal will be Multi. Have fun!

Rules Forum / Re: Mental Acumen Omnifaq Entry
« on: June 02, 2018, 04:05:34 PM »
Nah, the OmniFAQ is in error there. Making a card irreversible has no bearing on its ACE.

The entry for Mental Acumen is just old. It was trying to be cute and say, "well, the text doesn't say that the CARD cannot be reversed, it just says 'cannot be reversed,' so...", but later rules revisions contradict that. That entry for Mental Acumen should be considered erroneous and redacted.

niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiick is correct. Doesn't have to be your opponent's, since it doesn't specify and isn't reversing anything.

The Allegiance isn't in the Ring, so its effects aren't ACEs.

Rules Forum / Re: Blindside Elbow Drop clarification
« on: May 16, 2018, 03:53:48 PM »
Somebody call Austin Aries, because the correct choice, as always, is Option C. If it meant for you to discard the cards when you played it from Ringside, not when it was successful, it'd say "When played from Ringside, discard 2 cards and this card is +3D." If it meant for you to always discard 2 cards on success, the discard would be on its own clause.

18
Convention is to put the + or - after the D (or F) for clarity's sake. Creed was just paraphrasing, but the card text should consistently say "10D+" or "8F-", etc. Point still stands that Nash and Champ have different triggers and check at different times.

Yup, I'm gonna own up to this one. I was wrong about Owen and Blazer. Those are the same level as stuff like RVD, Dudleyz, Your Freakin' Hero, Gail Kim, et multiple cetera.

I want to make a point here: I'm human. I'm not infallible. I make mistakes or forget a precedent sometimes. That's why the Rules Forum exists, to bring evidence forward and have a discussion about precedent and come to a point of mutual clarity. That doesn't mean that I am opening the door for "I don't like that" or "I think that it should work this way because (example from a completely different game)" or anything like that. I'm just saying: if you think that I made a mistake, find some evidence and point it out. I won't get hot at you or ban you or delete the post or anything (as long as you're civil), I like discussing rules. That's why I've done it for free for over ten years.

Let's get the obvious out of the way: actually, literally PLAYING Throw Into the Corner Turnbuckle TB and then playing Coast to Coast is 100% legal.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's talk about the ACE. Specifically, here: http://teamcanadaonline.net///index.php/topic,13024.msg156757.html#msg156757

Note my language there.

Quote from: Daeva
However, Irish Whip TB does modify Running Clothesline to be considered to come after Irish Whip.

Irish Whip TB and Throw Into the Corner Turnbuckle TB modify the cards that they are affecting. The RMS won't have that. Coast to Coast after the ACE is no good.

I reconfirmed that here: http://teamcanadaonline.net///index.php/topic,17971.msg204269.html#msg204269

You can't pack two Chain Lashings, it's Unique. Pick one and ditch the other. (I'd keep the TB.)

I like the classic Garbage Can Lid over the TB for one reason: it's hybrid, so it can tag Atomic Lariat.

FAQ to support Debu:

Team Angle
<snip>
-Their ability will cause an opponent to discard only one card for reversing a Grapple or Submission, even if it is a Multi card.

If Shield is dealing with a Multi, they need to completely reverse it in one go to trigger their draw and bury. Otherwise, as Dilbert pointed out, the last reversal to the Multi won't be first, so they won't get to cycle.

25
Specifically, Coach Says has to be the Last reversal to a Multi to remove it from the game. Otherwise, Multi overrides Coach Says' text and keeps the card in the Timing Sequence; when the card is fully reversed after that, Coach Says has already resolved, and cannot alter time and space to come back and affect the game.
