It was awesome to have you guys come out for the cube night. I am definitely trying to schedule each month's around everyone's schedule, so always feel free to let me know what dates work and don't work. Anyone who is in the North Jersey area or willing to travel you are always more than welcome to join. We tested 5 packs of 12 with the next event testing 5 packs of 13. Thanks again for making it out to sling some cards.

I'll also be passing through Allentown sometime next week, so if it turns up I can pick it up and ship it out to you if Crasher's friend is not able to. Just let me know if you need me to do anything when I am passing through Allentown.

Booby Trap
Reversal: Special
Whenever a card causes you to discard this card, your opponent discards 1 card.
When your opponent successfully plays a card that lets him see your hand, you may discard this card and he discards 2 cards.
When overturned by an Action card or Pre-match card, reverse that card and end your opponent’s turn. You may put this card into your hand.
F: 2 D: 0

I understand that this does not work with discarding for superstar abilities as noted in the FAQ.  The questions that I did not see answers to in the FAQ are these.

1.  If I discard it to Sustained Damages effect to reduce damage will my opponent discard a card?

2.  If I discard it for the chain trait after damage has been applied to search for another chain card or discarding to the chain trait to reverse a chain card does it force a discard on my opponent?

3.  Does this card's effect work on something like Chicago Street Fight in my ring area when discarding to get a Foreign Object back?  If it doesn't work when Chicago Street Fight in my ring area does it work when Chicago Street Fight is in my opponent's ring area?

4.  Last question.  Does discarding this card to a Shoot Headlock effect in my ringside pile cause a discard for my opponent?

Just trying to figure out precisely how this card functions from a trigger causing my opponent to discard perspective.

First and most important, the world championships should remain an open format for all competitors.

Second, pace of play is a big issue in this game.  This has always been an issue.  I know a lot of thought goes into processing all the information on the board, but the pace of play slows down too much that tournaments and rounds go too long.  I strongly recommend something to balance this like chess clocks or something of the sort.  If someone wants to play a combo deck and take 20 minutes on a turn, it is not fair to the game and other players involved.

If pace of play can be handled in a reasonable manner then I could see doing 2 rounds of each format no matter what the attendance is.  If pace of play can not be handled then I would recommend 4 rounds for 16 or less competitors.  5 rounds for 17+ competitors.

I really like Softcore Legends recommendation of both players each choosing a format they don't want to play and then playing the format neither of them chose.  If they chose the same format then randomly choose one of the other two formats.  I could see doing this after round 3, so everyone plays one round of each format and then uses this method for future rounds.

Hey Cantor.  Hope all has been well.  I have been running a raw deal get together once every month or so in Jersey around the Randolph area.  I think Brian Blair is part of the group I made on facebook.  You, Snyder, and whoever else are always welcome to come around catch up and sling some cards.  We are actually getting together this Wednesday at All In One Collectibles in Randolph at 7 if you want to join.  Trebing is usually there.  No need to bring cards.  We got it taken care of.

I'll be at gencon to hang out for a while and goof around, but I will not be participating in the world championships this year.  A bunch of close friends wanted to take down the versus 10k, so I decided to join the festivities.  I'll still be stopping over and hanging out for a bit.  Maybe grab a bite or two.  So I should not be on this list for this year.  I am not stopping playing or anything of the sort.  Just figured to let you know that I don't need to be on the poll to waste someone's vote.

Classic Deck Reviews / John Cena
« on: June 05, 2015, 08:11:46 PM »
Here is the John Cena deck I have been running for Virtual Classic.  The first version was very loose from like 4 months ago.  With tweaks over the past months, this is the final build with some input from Mr. People's Team

All applicable Backstage Cards are played

A Quick BASH-ing
I'm Always On the Winning Side - My Side
The Marine Taunt
I'll Taunt You...Then I'll BASH You
WWE Spinner Belt TB
Yo Kill Da Beat!
I'm Gonna BASH Your Brains In!
Managed by William Regal
Washington, D.C.
Taunt the Fans x2
Managed by Vince McMahon TB
Trevor Murdoch Is Gonna BASH Your Brains In x3
BASH Great American Style
Panic Assault
Panic Throw
Turning Everything Upside Down
Sustained Damage
So...You Think You're Untouchable

A Revolution of the Mind x3
The Coach Says Todays the Day x3

The Raw Deal Revolution
Power Slam TB

Spine Buster TB
Too Many Rules and Too Many Refs
You Can't See Me TB
I Can't Be Reading This Right x2
Ego Boost
Word Life TB
The Marine
A Few Heel Men
Rise Above Hate

German Suplex TB x3
Steel Chain Shot TB x3
Shake x3
Poke x3
Boot Lace x3
BASH Headlock
Pump Kick
Lock Hammerlock Headlock Takedown of Doom
X-treme Dive Over the Ropes
BASH Aerial Clothesline
High-Flying Hurricanrana
BASH Drop Kick

The deck can be very hard hitting.  It has been performing extremely well, but it is beatable.  I do have concerns about the power level of Cena mainly due to the cards Yo Kill Da Beat and 12 Rounds.  YKDB provides a negative play experience, and 12 Rounds is so over powered.  I don't recall losing a game after activating 12 Rounds.  Personally, I think 12 Rounds should be calmed down some.

Classic Raw Deal / Gencon 2015 Grab Bags...Need Your Thoughts
« on: May 26, 2015, 02:06:33 PM »
Not sure if this is the right place to post this as I am looking to get feedback.  If not, please redirect me with where to post.  I was thinking of doing a special raw deal grab bag at gencon this year at one of my friend's booths, and I am curious to other players' thoughts to see if there would be enough interest in this.  I was thinking of making 200 grab bags each containing 7 rares, 1 ultra rare, and 1 ss3 foil for $5.  There would also be 10 god packs(all ultra rares).  There would also be the following cards within the 200 grab bags:  2 First To Tap Match TB, Patented Rock Footstomp TB, Help's On the Way, Armageddon Is Upon Us, 2 TLC Match TB, Ric Flair Interferes, I've Got Two Words For Ya SS3, and DTA TB.  I think this would be a quality grab bag thing to do, but I am not sure if the demand is there.  Please let me know if you think this is something you would like as a player and collector.

Fantasy Cards / Absolute Raw Deal (Fantasy Subset)
« on: April 08, 2015, 11:37:09 AM »
Hey guys.  Had some time to kill, so I thought I would make a fantasy subset kind of like absolute raw ultimate smackdown.  Obviously, cards have not been tested.  Let me know what you think.

Absolute Raw Deal
16 Card Fantasy Subset

Oh Baby I Like It Raw

Ignore the card titled Old School Cage Match.  When a card with Dynamic in the title moves a card from your ringside, it moves that many cards +1.  When you have lower fortitude than your opponent, your dynamic maneuvers are multis.
ACE: When you have 10 less fortitude than your opponent, if your first card played on your turn is a maneuver with Dynamic in the title your opponent can not play reversal cards to it then remove this card from the game.

What Works For You, Works For Me
All numbers are doubled in the text of your cards with Precision in the title.  Whenever your opponent gets an effect from a card with Precision in the title, you get the same effect.  Your cards with Precision in the title are -2F.

Technical Finisher
Trademark Finisher/Action
As a maneuver, search your Arsenal for one card with the word Technical in the title and put it into your hand.
As an action, this card is -20F and -15D.  Put this card on the bottom of your Arsenal.  If your next card played is an F: 0 maneuver with Technical in the title your opponent can not respond to that card.  If you have 10 less fortitude than your opponent, your opponent can not respond to this card when played as an action.

Blindsided Finisher
Trademark Finisher
Can be played from your ringside.
When played from your ringside, remove 4 cards in your hand from the game.

ACE: Discard 2 cards.  Reveal an additional enforcer card from your Backstage area.
F: 0   D: 0   Unique Permanent

Thanks Daeva for answering like my 5th flipped over question.  Here's to 50 more!!

Rules Forum / Flipped over backlash deck cards
« on: April 07, 2015, 04:41:56 PM »
I know that flipped over cards still have their title while in play, but is a backlash deck card flipped over no longer considered a backlash deck card. Basically, If I have Road To Victory in play and flip it over, does this card take up a midmatch slot?

Do you rank by record first and then use those points as tiebreaker or does ranking just go by points?  This matters for how often I want to win by Mania.

That is all of them other than Samoan Drop.  There were 12 alternate foils released in Survivor Series 1 other than the Ultra Rares.

A.J. Lee versus Mickie James in a who is more psycho match.  Crazy and sexy.

Dink versus Hornswaggle.  Funny match with clown humor and Irish gimmicks.

John Cena versus Hulk Hogan.  Which superstar will make you throw up more with their in ring skills?

There is a chance Mr. People's Team.  A chance in such that my previous plans have changed.  I am actually planning on going now.  Big Pimpin' - I can't make it to this pay per view (already have a show that a local friend is playing at that night that I promised I would go to), but I would be interested in stopping in and hanging out at future pay per view events and playing some revolution raw deal).

Classic Raw Deal / Re: *GEN CON* Progress for everyone so far

Stucket- Flights can run around the $250-350 range and some cheaper, but it all depends on what day of the week you purchase your airline tickets and what season it is.  Purchasing tickets on a Tuesday or Wednesday instead of the weekend has saved me roughly $50-$60 on each flight almost every time.  Granted, I usually purchase tickets about two months to a month and a half in advance.  In regards to GENCON, my trip for the end of the summer has fallen through, and I will be attending the greatest gaming convention of the year now.

P.S. - I really need help getting a grasp on the Revolution format.  The only games of Revolution I have played were last year at GENCON.  Now that I have lackey, I would love to get some games in when some people have some free time.

I was thinking if I had 2 fortitude then played double your value-double your fun, I could get to 8 fortitude for the turn to try and play this card.  Not sure if it works.  I was just unsure if the player's whose turn it was would have their card's text win out or if the person reversing had their card's text win out.

Rules Forum / Win If You Can and Your Reach Exceeds Your Grasp

Your Reach Exceeds Your Grasp
Mid-match Reversal: Special
Reverse any non-Superstar specific card with printed Fortitude greater than your opponent's Fortitude Rating, or any Multi Volley maneuver; he puts the reversed card into his hand.
ACE: During your turn, you may remove this card from the game and then ignore all play restrictions from his effects for the rest of the turn.  This effect cannot be reversed.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     RMS logo

Win If you Can, Lose if you Must, But Always Cheat
Action: Heel
Cannot be packed by The Heat Seekers.
When this card is unsuccessfully played, put it in your Ring instead.
Put up to 3 cards that are Heel and/or Cheater from your Ringside into your hand, and put up to 1 card from your Ringside on top of your Arsenal.
ACE:  Once during each of your turns, discard 1 Backlash card and 2 cards from hand, and then put 1 Backlash card from your Ringside into your Backlash.
F: 8     D: 2     Unique     Cheater logo     RMS logo

Let's say that you somehow have less than eight fortitude and can play WIYC,LIYM,BAC.  If my opponent plays Your Reach Exceeds Your Grasp what happens?  I am asking because one card says to put WIYC,LIYM,BAC back into your hand and WIYC,LIYM,BAC's text states to put it in your ring instead.
