Funny story, I found that whenever Road to Victory was packed, I didn't use it.  But whenever it wasn't, inevitably I ran into something that made me wish it was.  Cut to ACMT 2017, Buddha played a non-Unique action, and I laugh and note this trivia bit, and brag that I finally get to play RtV for a change.

Nope, he's got the Spirit Squad Pre-match out, RtV is blank.  :D  Figures!

By the way, I asked Chad several times what he was interested in for a championship card idea, and he never got back to me. <shrug>

Virtual Raw Deal / Re: Time for a Change

Thank you all for the kinds words, it's much appreciated!  It's really the only form of payment I can receive (well, that and donations to keep TCO online, haha).

Good news, we're finally wrapping up the back end of Virtual 9 (at long last) though I'd recommend setting the expectations low.  There were plans to have more support cards, some are conspicuous by their absence (Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns) but weren't quite finished.  Rather than wait even longer, we're going to push out what's ready, and the rest will hold until Virtual 10.

Better to get things moving for now, with a greater reward in line for the first set of the Eric RD Era, heh.

I think swapping cards out of your tournament deck to play side games is idiotic, just use proxies in side games!

That said, it was dumb but probably accidental, and it's very possible his deck was legal when he started.  A single loss seems the right call IMO.

Ouch, I thought you said you weren't old?  :D

Grats on leveling up, dude, keep being awesome!

Confirming that, much like the original poster, this card JUST MADE THE LIST!  :P

We've got this tagged and when we wrap up V9B and get it out, it will come with a handful of fixes and error corrections for V9A.

Random tech I used to like, back in the day, with WWE Commentators... name the other brand from what you're packing (in this case, Raw, since Tazz has an SD Pre-match), for use with this:

Get Off My Program!
Mid-match Action / Reversal: Special
As an action, this card is -10F, discard this card and draw 1 card.
As a reversal, can only be played if you and your opponent both have a card in your Ring areas with the Raw logo or both have a card in your Ring areas with the Smackdown logo. Reverse any card if it is not the first card played this turn and end your opponent's turn.
F: 10     D: 0     Unique

Might not be as useful now with fewer cards having brands, but you never know... :)

Virtual Raw Deal / Time for a Change
« on: June 30, 2019, 10:20:25 PM »
Over the last 12 years, I've had some weeks or months where I lost interest in Raw Deal, then found it again.  However, with college and moving, and dealing with some other personal issues, that desire just hasn't been coming back.  There is still some interest in keeping Virtual going, though, and it seems the person who is most actively working to keep the game alive is Eric RD.

We've talked in the past about it, and I've decided that my lack of interest means I'm no longer the right guy to run this crazy project of ours.  So I've talked to Eric, and he's going to take the lead of Virtual Raw Deal now.  I will, of course, still be around.  We're already discussing how to get Virtual 9B finished up and released, and what comes next to work on getting new content developed, playtested, and released.

Beginning with Virtual 10, Eric will be handling things, with some 'new blood' assisting in development.  He can provide more detail, but his plan is smaller sets more often, which will likely be well-received by the players, I suspect.

I'll still be around, just more as a navigator than a pilot.  Here's to Raw Deal living on!  <raises a toast>

Raw Deal Online / Re: LackeyCCG Errors/Updates
« on: June 30, 2019, 10:12:08 PM »

Updates include:
* All reported errors corrected.
* Another 100 images for Classic cards added, thanks again, Mitch!
* Also, Mitch has engineered some game function additions, such as moving a random card to Arsenal, and enabling the Promo function on the right-click menu. Great work!

Note: Auto-update stopped working and is no longer supported.

NOTE: This will be my last Lackey update, EricRD will be taking this over.  Go easy on him!

Oh?  Weird.

Added the card to Money Inc, strange it wasn't there already.  Oh well.

As noted, 3MB correctly does not include a card they cannot pack.

No, it would have to say 'for your Ability'.

It means you don't discard for Atomic Spine Buster.  I was thinking there were other 'spine buster'/'spinebuster' cards that made the player discard, but I could be mistaken.

Deck Reviews - Virtual / Re: Eddie Guerrero
« on: May 16, 2019, 08:46:36 AM »
Just some observations here:

A Technical Shoot would be challenging to get into play without some help, and there's nothing in his deck to allow the play of Shoot Counter without it, so it's not as reliable as the current choices I suspect.

Counter Slash isn't bad, but it's only 2D, when he can get more Fortitude from other High Risks.

Rules Forum / Re: Several Funkin' Questions
« on: April 30, 2019, 10:24:34 AM »
Nah, it's common.  There's been a lot of 'Can I use this X+Y combo with Panics?' over the years, and it's always an RTFC issue with the Panic.  You don't play 'move + Panic', it's 'Panic + move' and any effect we make is intentionally designed not to work with Panics for some weird wacky triple combo.  :)  (Wording errors notwithstanding of course)

General Chat / [NO SPOILERS] Avengers: Endgame
« on: April 26, 2019, 12:13:55 AM »
First and foremost, no spoilers, please!

That said - WOW.  How do you give even more accolades to a film that managed to live up to the standards of 20+ movies before it, connect them together, and aim even higher than before?  Just... incredible.  Awesome.  Amazing.  Wow.

Couple quick notes, because it's very late and this is a very long movie, clocking in just over 3 hours (though it didn't feel like it!).  There are NO mid- or post-credit scenes.  There is a 'sound' at the end, but it's not a reveal or anything, more of a callback.  For those ready to beat the traffic, you're not missing anything if you bail when the credits roll and Google it, heh.

Also, these aren't really spoilers, but I'll pass along these points in the movie as points where a quick run to the restroom won't miss much.

* When the Hulk eats lunch
* When the title card says 'NEW JERSEY'

I only really had two issues with the movie, the first is too mired in spoiler territory to discuss here, but the second is simple.  What now?

Much like adding more Harry Potter, they've built around the Infinity Stones and Thanos for so long, it's difficult to see where they go from here.  Maybe the Fox acquisition will lead to an X-Universe coming to the MCU as the next 'big thing'?  Hard to say.

Anyway, highest recommendation for Endgame.  It checks all the boxes, truly fantastic film.

Fantasy Cards / Re: Grinning Demon Chikara Superstars

Split into it's own topic rather than taking over TimJR's thread.

Good start, interested to see what you come up with!

These are awesome!  Just a quick designer's note on Nobody Is Ready For Asuka!, we had the discard as part of the ability but it felt too good with Back to Basics.  Splitting it up onto a non-B2B compatible Pre-match (and adding the obvious 'go first' thematic effect) seemed like a good balance.

Also, we intentionally wanted a Superstar that didn't fall into the 'normal' builds, and the unusual offense of Asuka played into it well.

And it wouldn't work when overturned because it doesn't say what it reverses, like 'Reverse any Strike' or have a card type like "Reversal: Strike" (not to mention card text on reversals doesn't apply when overturned unless specified).

Virtual Raw Deal / Raw (Deal) after Mania [No Spoilers]
« on: April 08, 2019, 10:17:05 PM »
[No Spoilers for Raw, please]

So you know how Raw after Wrestlemania usually has some surprises?  Why not bring that to Raw Deal!

Surprise!  Thanks to EricRD (and some nitpicking micromanagement from myself, haha) we have some of the winners from Wrestlemania, and a few of the new Hall of Famers for 2019, as alternate art Superstar Cards!

2019 Wrestlemania Alt Art: (.doc/.pdf)

Thanks again, Eric, you're amazing!  :)

Usually people post their ideas in the Fantasy Cards section, we've used interesting ideas from time to time (with permission, and credit the sources).

Don't worry, you're not the first and probably won't be the last.  :D  I just mention it every so often otherwise people can list like 20-40 names, and it's just too much to track.

As a concept, though, what you posted was some neat ideas.  If we had the manpower to crank out and test sets fast enough to produce that much quantity (and had enough good ideas) that'd be amazing, though!  :)

Thanks, though it has more to do with what they're called on TV than personal opinion.

I haven't said this in a while, but when we do look at who people are interested in, I'll skip any list with more than 5-10 names.  We don't put 25 Superstars in a set anymore, so a list of 25 just isn't useful information to be honest, heh..

Meanwhile, Real Life Inter-mania has run wild on us lately, but I'm hoping through Spring and maybe Summer, we'll get V9 finally wrapped up, and maybe get a Holiday set or two in before looking toward V10.  We'll see.

I haven't seen any of MLW, but I love the concept of the character and your execution here.  Maybe his Arsenal should only have 52 cards?  Hahaha

General Chat / Captain Marvel [NO SPOILERS]
« on: March 08, 2019, 12:58:59 AM »
HELL yes!  Marvel Studios finally has a new film out, and it was worth the wait.  I give it a solid A, bordering on A+.  My complaints are very minimal (and spoiler-ish, except - why was Sagat fighting Bison on DHALSIM'S stage? haha) but this was a lot of fun, mysterious, full of continuity, action-packed... everything I could ask for.  AND even explained a few things in the MCU.

There's a great mid-credits scene, the post-credits scene is just humorous.  And the opening logo is an awesome tribute to Stan Lee.  Definitely recommended! just have to wait 7 more weeks to Endgame...   ;D
