Dilbert - completely agree.  And the worst part is, it came about because they put Heat on both sides of the slash for one card, someone pointed out the inconsistency, so Barron made a new rule.  <headdesk>  Cards shouldn't make rules, they should follow them.. but whatever, done is done, heh.

To be clear, the Arrival guys were presented for testing, then my life got flipped turned upside down... so now they are something like Part 1 of V9, and the PT team is working on Part 2.  When that's squared away, we should have part 1 properly rebooted and improved, so eventually it's all Virtual 9 in the end.

So yeah, you nailed 6 of the Superstars and I've announced 2 others.  That leaves 14 - (6 + 2) = 6 Superstars, and when you figure the time frame that this was designed from, the last 6 names won't be that surprising.  :)

A few of the Arrival guys just weren't up to snuff, Emma in particular came our so much more poorly than expected, you'd think we made an Emmalina superstar!  :P

So we could either hold things up and retool them, then go back to PT (all while things were slowed down as I moved, Real Life Interferes and all that)... or we could get the testers started on the other guys, and we'll come back to the Arrival dudes once they are retooled.

Better progress made this way.  :)

(Sadly, I'm not clear on that last question, so I can't really answer it)

"Unless I’m misreading" Kinda, yeah.   ;D

These are all full Superstars, the original idea was a holiday set type package for just that initial 6 Superstars (kudos to scouting report, as it is accurate!) with the single card support to the others already in the game.  Then V9 would be 'the rest' and the support for Superstars in general, but instead we're just folding it into a single big set like normal.

Just to chime in with Dilbert, it's just not possible to make only the Superstars that Joe, Bob, Billy, Ryan, and Tommy are interested in.  We'd never get anyone made!  :D

But we do the best we can to cover what seems best for everyone.

And yeah, I never liked Jeff Jarrett and didn't really want to make him, but... there he is.  (And in the Hall of Fame, that's doubly weird...)

Yeah, Rich Swann is tricky, since there were a lot of allegations, and his wife is now denying a bunch of it.  That's a toughie, as much as I want to see him in the game from meeting him at PWG a few years back.  Ah well.

In the meantime, I'll spoil this much...  I had a plan to make a subset of NXT called Arrival, for those Superstars on that first card, either giving them a card or making that Superstar (except CJ Parker, cuz.. yeah.  haha)  So it's very likely you'll see some names that aren't in the WWE any longer, but hopefully they look and play well enough that people won't be too upset.  :)

Somehow I remembered a comment by Creed on this thread saying it's illegal in the same way that JYD couldn't pack Tornado DDT due to the text of it being high risk in the Arsenal...
We've discussed it, and both Owen and Blazer are now on the revision list for clarity.

EDIT:  Also, if you guys have any other Virtual Superstars like this that don't explicitly say 'pack' but lead to a similar scenario, please let me know and we'll address them.  Thanks.

Not really, to be honest.  Making non-SS cards is really difficult with so many Superstars to exploit them.  "Oh crap, we forgot Jamie Noble + X breaks the game!" or "New Day wins in 2 turns with this?  Aw man, back to the drawing board"  :)

There is an idea to make Cruiserweights stand out, but that's based around one (maybe two) cards, more on that down the road.

I'll definitely mention a hard pass on one Superstar though, we won't be releasing Enzo Amore or Enzo & Cass, sorry.  As a designer, it's sad because their set was fairly creative and fit the two characters, but it's just not something we're comfortable doing.  That's okay, though, there are SO many new Superstars coming in that the loss won't be felt, and I suspect Cass will find his own way in time.  :)

Meanwhile, I'll confirm two very obvious and expected names:  Finn Bálor and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Welcome (back) to Raw Deal / Re: New to Raw Deal, where do I start?
« on: April 19, 2018, 01:09:22 PM »
Welcome!

Generally speaking, Classic is the 'main game', and Revolution is the reboot attempt that didn't take, but still made for a good game on it's own.  "All Axxess" is combining both sets of cards, and I wouldn't recommend that for a new player, it's a bit wild even for experienced players!  :)

Adding 'Virtual' in front of any of those means including the Virtual expansions we've developed over the last 10 years to keep the game going.  But it might be good to start with the basics you have already as you learn, then add in a Virtual set or two as you go.  The nice thing is, Virtual doesn't cost anything (except your own printing costs).

Have fun!

And the Impact champion is former NXT/205 Live wrestler Austin Aries, what's your point?  :D

(Actually, the main event was Bryan/AJ vs. Rusev/English, so...)  ;)

Anyway, back on topic, it's an interesting idea for Roode.  I've always liked the design of 'build up' Superstars like Angle's 3 Is or the growth with all the Glorious cards here.

'Lower Fortitude' means lower than the opponent, otherwise it would say something like 'When your Fortitude Rating is 10 or less'.  So "10+ lower Fortitude" means your opponent has at least 10 Fortitude more than you.

This isn't TNA Raw Deal.  ;)

Though I heard they are hiring...

There's already multiple Bella Superstars, and they aren't even actively wrestling any longer.  :)  That's just the show logo, similar to the Holy Foley! show log on that card.

Everyone else ,though, has definite Superstar potential!

Uh, Heath Slater is already in Virtual 5...  and as for Total Bellas, they're already in the game, heh:

Otherwise, that's an impressive list of names!  :)

Um, grapples?  :)

Seriously, though, cards like Eye Rake are good, since they are a strike but can reverse a Grapple.  Same idea with Backslide, or other grapple hybrid maneuvers like Power Slam (Throwback version).

Only card scans are being used going forward, proxies can be inaccurate in minor details that won't be obvious, plus no one can get upset 'Why didn't you use my version instead of his?' and other needless drama.

Scans only.  Simple.

I'll try to get these up some time this weekend if real life doesn't interfere too much.

Thanks, I'll look at doing an update this weekend if time permits, I know it's been a while.

Plus I can add all those scans you provided, thanks again for that, Mitch!

That would be too soon, we usually don't add anyone unless they've been around for a year.  Too many 'flash in the pans' in the past.

But yeah, she'd definitely be one worth having in Raw Deal down the road.  :)

I think the wrong card was referenced.  Likely this is what we're actually talking about:

I'm a Paul Heyman Guy
Mid-match Action + Action: Run-in
Cannot be packed by Paul Heyman.  Cannot be reversed when you have a card with 'Heyman' in the title in your Ring.
Search your Arsenal and Ringside for Paul Heyman's Shoot Promo, reveal it, put it into your hand, and shuffle; that card is -4F and cannot be reversed.
When your opponent has at least 15 greater Fortitude and he successfully plays a maneuver, you may ignore the 'during your turn' text on your Managed by Paul Heyman and immediately Activate it.
F: 3     D: 0     Unique     Multi

Sunset Flip/Bomb, I believe.  Like the half-Canadian Destroyer used by John Cena.

The definition of an ACE includes being in your Ring.  If it's not, it's not an ACE, and thus can't be reversed by DTTAH, etc.
