Another +1 for Star Realms. I remember when Mitch and I used to play it daily...

So I downloaded Star Realms last week (the free base game on Android.)

Ended up stopping in one of my local game stores and picked up a copy to play with my son. (Bought their open demo copy for $10!)

Onirim is currently free on Android and iPhone! I also got the first expansion free by logging in with my Asmodee username.

I will sing the praises of the Sentinels of the Multiverse app until I’m blue in the face. I own all of the physical game and people don’t want to play it sometimes. There’s nothing lonelier than shuffling 5-7 decks to play a solitaire game. The app version makes solitaire games a breeze and online play is awesome and cross platform.

I have the Sentinels of the Multiverse base game and like 4 expansions, and haven't played it yet! I'll definitely pick up this app next!

By "board game apps," do you mean apps that emulate board games, or apps that are companions to board games?

The Sheriff of Nottingham app is also really handy, both as a timer for the inspection round and to help you score the game. Instead of everyone busting out their calculator and ticking away, the app can figure out the most-of-goods bonuses for you.

For apps that emulate board games, my most-played is the Onirim app. Onirim is a solitaire card game, and it translates to an app perfectly. I also enjoy the apps for Star Realms and Ascension, and Ascension supports up to 4 humans or AI players.

I'm looking for mostly apps that emulate board games. I *do* want to pick up Sheriff of Nottingham one day, though. When that happens I'll definitely have to grab the companion app from the sounds of it. I'll see if I can research Onirim on your suggestion. I've also heard good things about Star Realms so that's going on my list as well.

Also, thank you to the entire RDPC and the players for keeping the tradition of this awesome game going. (TEN YEARS NOW - with no signs of stopping!)

I haven't been able to make it to GenCon for a few years now, but I did get to hang out with Evil Dave and some other former Raw Dealers yesterday in Columbus, OH. I'll be attending GenCon for sure next year, and I hope to run in to all of you there!

Wanted to post here and get your thoughts on what good boardgame apps there are for mobile.

Feel free to post Android and iPhone apps - I'm on Android!

Here's what I've got currently:

Carcassone (with both expansions)
Lords of Waterdeep (with both expansions)
7 Wonders (no expansions yet, probably by the end of the month, though.)



So what else should I look into? What boardgame apps are your favorites that get you through between boardgame nights?

I could use some playtesters for the (coming soon) MMA Combat Card Game.

There's no "character" to build your deck around, but you can customize your deck using Routine Cards (think Pre-match) that can modify your fighting style.

Print and play files are posted on the website, or if you like I can send you a link where you can buy some prototype decks at cost from DriveThruCards where I get them printed at.

Did you know we have a free Print and Play available for all of our current decks?

We've just updated the deck files for the Print and Play decks. Each one now includes the Routine cards, as well as the "Fight Position" tracker and "Player Turn" tracker. Don't forget, if you've already downloaded/printed the old deck files without Routine cards, you can just download and print the Routine card file to get the advanced game experience!

Hey everyone!

I'm driving up to Cincy for an "UNPUB Mini" to playtest my game. Since the event isn't until tomorrow (Sunday, Feb 11th) at 11am, I was wondering if there were any Raw Dealers in the Cincy area with an extra deck or two that would like to meet up and sling some Raw Deal cards tonight.

I haven't played in a few years, but would love to get a few games in. Plus, this is my first time going to Cincinnati, and I'd love some tips on where to eat, etc.

MMA Combat Card Game / MMAccg Routine Card Ideas and Testing

For the few of you out there on TFO that have tried the game, I'd love your feedback. We're getting closer and closer to having a finished product.

I'm currently working on updating the Routine cards. Many cards will change due to previous balance issues. Other cards will change due to changes to the game rules. (Notes: Not all names are final, some still need to be named, and Endorsements aren't listed here, as they seem fine just the way they are.)

Here's a preliminary list of ideas for Routine cards formatted as follows:
"Card Name"
Card Text

"Amateur Wrestling Champion"
Once during each of your turns you may discard 2 cards to search your Stamina Deck for a non-unique Submission maneuver and put it into your hand.

"BJJ Gold Medalist"
Your Submissions are +2 Toughness damage. During your turn, you may Exhaust this card to put one Submission from your corner into your hand.

"Blaze of Glory"
During Round 3, you cannot play Counters from your hand, and no maneuver can do more than 3 Toughness damage or 3 Stamina damage to you. All of your maneuvers in Round 3 are +3 Toughness damage.

"Defensive Instinct"
During your opponent's turn, you may Exhaust this card to counter any maneuver.

"Endurance Training"
Whenever you play a Counter card from your hand, shuffle up to one card from your Corner into your Stamina deck.

"Gassing Out"
If a card or card effect would cause any player to discard any number of cards, they discard that many +1 instead.

"Ground and Pound"
When the fight is Grounded, your Strikes are +2 Toughness Damage and +1 Stamina Damage.

"Judo World Champion"
When revealed, you may search your Stamina deck for one card titled "Hip Toss" and put it into your hand.

"Knockout Artist"
During your turn, you may Exhaust this card, choose one card in your hand, and discard the rest. Your next Strike this turn is +4 Toughness Damage for each card discarded.

"Low Center of Gravity"
During your opponent's turn, you may Exhaust this card to counter a Takedown Maneuver.

"Muay Thai Training"
When the fight is Clinched, you may draw a card when your opponent counters a Strike.

"Old School Brawler"
When the fight is Standing, you may draw a card when your opponent counters a Strike.

"Pre-Fight Planning"
After the first player's Draw step, you may put your hand on top of your Stamina Deck, search your deck for 4 different non-unique cards, put them into your hand, and shuffle your deck. If it is your turn, you may instead search for 5 cards.

"Pre-Fight Weigh-In"
Before the first turn of the game, you may discard one card to draw three cards.

"Reach Advantage"
Your opponent's Strike Maneuvers are -1 Toughness Damage and -1 Stamina Damage.

"Shake It Off"
When an opponent would cause you to discard any number of cards, you may put those cards on top of your Stamina deck instead.

"Tonight's Main Event"
The Fight is now Five Rounds with additional Recovery steps after the Third and Fourth round.

"Tough Joints"
Your opponent's Submission Maneuvers are -1 Toughness Damage and -1 Stamina Damage.

"World Class Fighter"
Once during each of your turns you may draw 1 card then put 1 card from your hand on the bottom of your Stamina Deck.

"World Class Striker"
Once during each of your turns you may discard 2 cards to search your Stamina Deck for a non-unique Strike maneuver and put it into your hand.

"Perfect Timing"
Ignore the words "of 4 Toughness damage or less" on your cards titled "Well-Timed Counterpunch".

"Adaptive Defense"
During your opponent's turn, you may discard 5 cards to counter any maneuver and end your opponent's turn.

"Second Wind"
During your turn, you may Exhaust this card. If you have fewer Routine cards revealed than your opponent, draw cards equal to two times the difference.

"Replacement Due to Injury"
You start the game with 25 toughness. Your toughness cannot go over 25. Card effects can't let your opponent look at your hand.

"The Best Defense is a Good Offense"
If you discard a Counter card while Regrouping, you may draw three cards instead of two.

"Fight IQ"
At the beginning of your turn, you may look at the top card of your Stamina deck and put it on top or bottom of your deck.

"?? Unnamed Card 1 ??"
When your opponent Regroups, you may discard a card then draw a card.

"?? Unnamed Card 2 ??"
Your strikes and submissions of printed 2 Toughness damage or less can't be countered from your opponent's hand.

"?? Unnamed Card 3 ??"
When revealed, choose Strike, Clinch, Takedown, or Submission. Your maneuvers of the chosen type are +1 Toughness Damage and -1 Stamina Damage, your other maneuvers are -1 Toughness Damage.

Recent Updates to the rulebook include:

Changed the order of rules, steps, and phases.

Removed glossary on the back and added a "Quick Reference Guide" to help clarify rules and make the rulebook less cluttered.

Rules added/updated:
     Regroup - When you end your turn without playing a card, you may discard a card then draw two cards.

     Added a mulligan rule: After drawing starting hands, each player may choose up to three cards, set those cards aside, draw that many cards, then shuffle the cards set aside back into their deck.

Had someone message me asking if I had any Raw Deal demos and/or deck tech videos on YouTube, or if I was interested in posting one.

If anyone's interested, I think it'd be a great idea to bring in new/old players interested in joining the game.

Figured I'd post it here and see if anyone else wanted to throw some thoughts/ideas at the chalkboard, see what sticks.

Huge update for the Lackey plugin. (What, you thought we've been asleep? No! We've been making progress!)

Here's a list of changes to the plugin:
  • Updated ALL Stamina (main deck) card images to reflect the new graphics.
  • NEW updated Cardbacks for Stamina and Routine cards (Both cardbacks are used!)
  • Added a few new cards, including: Spinning Backfist, Flying Knee, Press Against the Cage, Well-Timed Counterpunch
  • The Stamina damage value on "Leg Kick" has changed from 2 to 4.
  • New (as of yet untested) Theme decks: "Dirty Boxer" and "TapOutArtist." *please give these decks a spin and let me know what you think!

Let me know if you have any questions/comments/concerns.

I'll be uploading the revised rulebook momentarily!

I just can't get excited about Magic right now. Haven't played a game of Commander in about 3 years, haven't played standard in 3 months, and haven't played modern in longer than that.

I'm sure I'll end up picking up a pack or two here and there, but it'll likely just be for the "I hope I pull a Foil Force of Will" lottery ticket factor.

I really like this remake of A New Hipe better than the original. I didn't see it coming,but I liked it. The new characters are awesome. seriously, if the movies were transparencies, you could stack them on top of each other and they would totally line up. Anybody else notice this?

However, the next 2 movies better be a little more serious and original. This movie was fun, but I yearn for a deep dramatic tragedy set in space.   This movie was fun though, and It worked.



Seriously, though. I agree that it was fun and it worked.

Really glad to see a big injection of humor in this one. Also glad to see a lack of Gungans.

First up. I'll give it a 10 out of 10.

My only beef with the film is this: I think Kylo Ren should have kept his mask on much more than he did. Perhaps taking it off only during the interrogation of Rey, and again for the killing of the old man. Putting the mask back on (and leaving it on for the rest of the film) would have, in my opinion, given us a more feared villain.

All the humor in all the right spots did put this back up to a 10 on my rating scale.

My favorite quote from the film: "Does this place have a garbage chute? A trash compactor?"

That, plus the smile on his face was the highlight of the movie for me.
