Rules Forum / Venue's that aren't Universally Active
« on: November 18, 2017, 08:38:37 PM »
If I we're to say Play Dubuque, Iowa which is just Unique, can the other player also play Dubuque?

Universally Active
-When a card in any Ring Area has this trait, no other player may play a card that shares a sub-type with it.  Currently this only applies to the type: Pre-match Venue.  Other non-Venue cards can be played during a Venue phase if their text allows it.

This is self-explanatory, if someone plays say Houston, Texas you wouldn't be able to play Dubuque without Hometown Hero.

Venue
-A new type of Pre-match card, before the Feud portion of Pre-match. When there is a Venue card in any Ring area, you cannot play a Venue card.

Was the above mentioned in the omni-faq because of the Universally Active trait that was on all venues at the time or is the general card type Venue locked due to that entry?

Yeah it's definitely part of V8. But I spent bout 20min looking through all the 5 files, can't seem to find it in any.

I checked the 5 support files it isn't there, Creed may have to add it in somewhere.

alright, option 2 is running away with it, I'll get to the pairings as soon as I (eventually) get home tonight

I admit I kinda like this "second chance" format in the future....might encourage less drops next time around.....

I don't think a "second chance" is the reason for so many drops, but mostly the fact that life gets in the way and online tournaments, by nature, are very very long.

Except the 1 time I did impromptu Revo tournament on Lackey because 8 people were playing and we finished it in like 3 hours :D

Best to post card text:
The Christian Coalition
Action: Run-in
Put 1 Maneuver card from your Ringside pile into your hand.
When this card is in your Ring area, once during each of your turns you may put 2 cards from your hand on the bottom of your Arsenal and then put 1 Maneuver card from your Ringside pile into your hand.
¶ ¶ ¶ (Activated Card Effect Symbol)
Unique
F: 5      D: 0

For aces the cost is always before the "And Then" part of the card so the cost of the Coalition is putting 2 under your deck, if your opponent plays DTTAH at that point you will discard 2 cards in addition to putting 2 under your deck and will not get to pick up a maneuver as the effect was reversed.

Virtual Classic is all non-revolution cards in the game, classic and virtual together.

Here is the forum for Virtual Raw Deal:
http://teamcanadaonline.net///index.php/board,54.0.html

Biggest rule change is backlash is now 12/12 with a 6/6 capacity and there is now an Allegiance phase played BEFORE the Venue. Also read all of the backstage cards with "shenanigans" in the title if you plan to play virtual.

The most common on Lackey is Virtual Classic, there is a couple classic players but I rarely ever see them on and they only seem to play each other and then log off.
We also started up a Discord server for coordinating lackey games here: https://discord.gg/AGF4wG8
Personally I keep around 2 classic decks for anyone who really wants to play classic but VC is more fun since it is still changing.

Seems all the new cards from Virtual B are not shrunk down to 250x350 instead they are 1500x2098 so when you hover on them you get a massive image to the FACE! lol

One is for cards, one is for card effects.

1st Part: Moving cards only works with Uniques, Specifics and moves.
2nd:Same as part 1 except it also counts effects but leaves stipulations alone so say Chicago Street Fight still works instead of moves.

Just once period, not draw 4 stun and they discard 4/burn 4 cause that would be crazy good.

I ran him with There is No Escape, play unique moves that are all +2 stun value and a couple stun the crowds to make Classic 0 for 6's, 0 for 8 and all +4 stun.

You search first so yes, blindside takedown hits discard pile, and then they look at arsenal/backlash but since it isn't in either of those zones you don't lose.

Or OSWM(TB) for that matter. Christy is still one of the best at it.

They can skip anytime you play a card, but if they skip and you skip right after playing pre is over.

Neither of those work in a cage, as Cage is stopping the cards movement and not modifying it.

And if that doesn't work out it's fun to throw Plunged Chair Shots with Chicago Street Fight + Dem Damn Dudleyz + You Can't Spell Furniture!

I think I was playing as Ric Flair once in a deck I built like that and I hit Mankind with the same Chair about 4 or 5 times. LOL!

My old RVD deck ran those shenanigans :)
