Anyone with an Ability to discard can potentially be a heat deck. My favorite heat decks I've made have been Billy Gunn, Snitsky, and Rey Mysterio.

I typically go fan favorite for sizzling clothesline to make my F:0 heat maneuvers multi.

Virtual Raw Deal / Bam Bam Bigelow
« on: January 11, 2019, 10:53:28 AM »

Let me preface this post by saying that this isn't an attack or criticism of the virtual team or anyone on TCO. This is mearly one players opinion.

I feel like there is no reason to play as Bam Bam Bigelow and he needs help. He's probably the least playable superstar from V4. His superstar ability costs too much for too little. Sure, he gets Million Dollar Corporation support, but those cards don't help him that much compared to the other members. His ability to make Cartwheel an omni reversal is his best quality, but his specific reversal makes cartwheel worse.

There are other superstars that do what he does, only better (Vader, Rusev, RVD, even someone like Big Pappa Pump can discount their cards at much less of a cost). And by the time you have enough stun value in your ring, you probably already have enough Fortitude to play the card anyway. I know Bigelow can discount any CARD, but a lot of actions don't make it into a lot of decks due to the fear of OSWM.

His first maneuver is all but guaranteed to get Restricted Use/Reach Exceeds Your Grasp, if not reversed regularly from hand.

Why restrict his volley maneuvers with Asbury Park? Bookerman has a much more powerful ability to protect his volley moves, and much better support. Bam Bam feels restricted to Tech Drop Kicks, DLB, and a few high risks. It's very hard to get started with him.

Bigelow's specific cards are decent, but not all THAT great, and he doesnt have many.

I think if Bigelow got an ECW Backstage card, it would make his MUCH more playable. He could pack house that hardcore built, discount his Foreign Objects (a lot of which have stun value), then his Ability would help more and earlier, and he wouldn't take non-unique damage to his FO's.

Again, I only bring this up because you guys actually take player feedback into account. And I'm also willing to listen to other players who may have had a successful Bam Bam build.

When would be a legal time to rename it? Could I name it something else when my opponent plays a card? Or would it have to be before or after?

The Inspirational
Backstage Card
Your A Chorus of Boos cards are not Active, do not take up a Pre-match slot in your Ring, your Fortitude Rating is +1 for every copy in your Ring, replace 'your turn' with 'any turn' in its text, Your reversals affected by that card deal no damage, and once during any turn when you have lower Fortitude, your opponent cannot reverse the effect when you Activate it.
When played as a reversal, your Borrring... Borrring...!!! cards read 'Reverse any non-maneuver card.'

This deck is super fun and also pretty competitive.

Play all the Pre-Match. I usually search for his 2 TMFs for the allegiance, just so I dont draw them in my opening hand. Un-Americans is SUCH a good card. Search for whatever reversal you need in hand with his backstage (usually revo, volley this, or Douchebag). Halloween Havoc could be replaced with One Night Stand.

For the reversal base, I wanted to pack a lot of reversals that hit multiple cards. Ax Kick, get back in the ring, Spine Buster, and knee lift can be difference makers. And with storms ability, falling behind in F isnt a bad thing.

The actions are simple. I didnt include much recovery because of his backstage card.

Since Storm is ECW, he doesnt take non-unique damage from his FOs being reversed. This makes a card like Kitchen Sink a great card to play (and usually at a heavily discounted F cost). If they reverse the 3 moves, you take no damage and recover (at least) 6 at random.

Intended to give him the benefits of cards that have effects for being higher or lower. So he could have No Way Out in his ring and still play turn the tide (or some other such example) at the same time. Maybe that's impossible, or at least worded incorrectly.

And if not, then I guess he would have to choose between this and Salary

Follow up question:

Can teams that "cannot pack any Title Belts except the Tag Team title belt" pack the NXT tag team title belts? I notice that Ascention, AA and the Vaudevillians have such clauses, but are listed on the NXT tags.

The Ascension
Starting Hand Size: 8     Superstar Value: 2
NXT Tag Team Superstar Ability:  When you overturn 2+ cards for a card effect, put up to 1 non-reversal maneuver overturned for that effect into your hand.
Once during any turn, when you would overturn a number of cards for a card effect, you may discard 1 maneuver and then overturn half of that number instead (rounded up).
Your Chain cards are not Chain.
You cannot pack any Title Belts except the Tag Team Title Belts, Corners or Underrated Superstar.

American Alpha
Starting Hand Size: 6     Superstar Value: 2
NXT Tag Team Superstar Ability: Your printed 5F- Chain cards are F: 0 and cannot be reversed from Ring.
You can pack The Straps Are Down; when played as a Counter, it is Chain. You cannot pack any Title Belts except the Tag Team Title Belts.

The Vaudevillains
Starting Hand Size: 7     Superstar Value: 1
NXT Tag Team Ability: When you successfully play a card with 'classic' in the title, draw 1 card and then put 1 card from your hand on the bottom of your Arsenal.
You can pack up to 2 copies of Unique maneuvers with 'classic' in the title, as if they are not Face or Heel; they are now NXT cards. You cannot pack any Title Belts except the Tag Team title belts, or There is No Escape.

Rules Forum / Re: Samoa Joe Question
« on: December 24, 2018, 10:30:00 PM »
Separate question (much more convoluted)

Trash Can
Strike: Foreign Object
When the card titled Trash Can is in the Ring, once per turn, any player on their turn may discard a card to "use" the Trash Can. For each "use" Trash Can may be reversed as usual. If reversed, put it into owner's Ringside pile.
In the event there is more than one Trash Can in the Ring, declare the one you are using; each can be used only once per turn.
SV: 1
F: 5   D: 7

Trash Can

-If this card is in a player’s Ring Area, it is an ACE.  If an opponent is using the effect, it is not in their Ring Area, so it is not an ACE.

-Trash Can will go to the Ringside Pile if reversed from anywhere.

-Using the Trash Can does not count as playing a Maneuver, but it does count as a Strike Maneuver.  Reversals will still work on the activation of a Trash Can.

-Modifiers adding and subtracting to the damage of a Strike Maneuver will benefit the use of a Trash Can, unless it uses the term ‘card’ or ‘played’.  EXAMPLE: Turn the Match into a Pier Six Brawl adds +2D to Strike maneuvers, this would increase a Trash Can’s use.

-A use of the Trash Can does not count as ‘playing’ a maneuver, so it will not allow for the play of cards such as Debilitating Injury: Concussion or High Risk maneuvers.

-If this card is given the Permanent trait, it will still go to the Ringside pile if reversed since it is removing itself per the card text.

Ok, so since activating trash can is a maneuver that is not "played", it therefore is not played from hand. Would that use of trash can be chain since its not played from hand??

Once before each of your Draw Segments, when this card is in your Ring or Ringside, or removed from the game, you may put it in your Ring or Ringside, or remove it from the game; when you move it to your Ring from another area, your opponent overturns 1 card.
When this card is in your Ringside, you may reveal a Strike for The Samoan Submission Machine instead of a Submission; when this card is removed from the game, you may reveal a Grapple instead.
