Virtual Raw Deal / Re: 2020 Bottom of the Barrel Thread

I think Yokozuna is definitely one of the superstars that need some help. Being limited to just one maneuver per turn is a pretty huge drawback, and having +3F doesn't really compensate for it imo.

I know that Netrunner is very popular, and I had briefly played it back when it was CCG years ago. But with so many deluxe editions and cycles available, it is extremely tough to get into the game for a new player. I'm also playing other LCG like Conquest, LOTR, and Star Wars so I think I'll skip Netrunner, even though it seems to be a great game.

I hope AJ Lee's Raw Deal card is still on the way. It's the only way to "see" her on WWE in the future I guess.

Will we see some of the events in this Wrestlemania eventually made their way into a Virtual set?

I heard Batista is getting a new card that is related to his box-office bonanza movie. Hopefully it will be as great as the movie as it was one of my favorites from last year.

That'd be interesting, but still wouldn't change things for Raw Deal purposes.  Think about it, we could be making Superstars that wrestled dozens, hundreds of matches... guys who entertained people for years.  Or we could make a celebrity who did one match, and provides a limited batch of pictures.  ;)

It's just not a good idea, not unless she pulls a Lesnar - walks away from UFC and becomes a full-time wrestler.   Otherwise, we might as well try making Superstars for Snooki, Dennis Rodman, and Jay Leno, heh.

CREED

I understand your point, but none of the celebrities have ever dominated a physical sport like the MMA such as Rhoda Rousey. I know that it's next-to-impossible, but if her superstar card ever come out it should be amazing as her winning record. Maybe someone can make a dream card for her instead.

Exactly, or Pete Rose.

Now, if she actually transitions into the WWE and wrestles matches, sure... we'd look into creating a Superstar for her.

CREED

Hopefully WWE will arrange a match for her in the future, even if it's an one-time only event.

Since Rhoda Rousey showed up tonight at Wrestlemania, will we ever see her superstar card in the future?

Is there a good Andre the Giant Heat deck I can check out? Because I'm having trouble constructing an Arsenal with 100 cards in it.

Classic Raw Deal / Cards only playable by Legends
« on: March 24, 2015, 06:29:49 PM »
I'm in the process of building decks of superstars with the Legend trait. Unfortunately, I can't find a list of cards that are only playable by Legend superstars. Is there a list where I can find this info?

For people who used to play Star Trek CCG from Decipher, or wanted to try but the game is already cancelled, you can check out trekcc.org. It's a site where they kept the game alive through creation of virtual cards and a forum for players to gather and discuss this game, much like TCO with Raw Deal. They even have card images of all the cards ever created for Star Trek CCG, which I wish TCO has as well.

If it can help bump up the schedule quickly, I'm all for it. :) I'm not familiar with NXT but I'm definitely interested to see how they will turn out in the next set.

Thanks for the post. I've just gotten my Conquest Core sets and War Packs today, and I haven't had the time to construct the decks, but I hope I'll be able to play a few games this weekend.

No problem. I understand that there's way too many superstars yet to be created for the Virtual sets, and only long-time fans like me would want to see throwback superstars like Strike Force. As long as it is in the pipeline, I don't mind waiting a (semi) long time for it.  ;)

Depends on the Superstars, it's not as though they're providing us with new pictures, so it's tough to match it up.  That said, if we see someone needs help, we'll do what we can to give it to them.  :)

CREED

Thanks. I still hope you can make a Strike Force tag team Superstar face card using pictures such as this in the future:

Will you make new cards for throwback Superstars like the Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart in future sets?

I have a question. I'm thinking about getting 2 Core sets, but seems like everybody thinks 3 Core sets are mandatory to construct competitive decks. If I get 3 Core sets, how many good decks can I construct out of those cards? There are 7 factions, and I'd like to make at least 4 good decks out of them.

With 3 core sets you should be able to build 4 good decks.

Off the top of my head, you could probably build the following:
Dark Eldar w/ Eldar
Tau w/ Eldar
Chaos w/ Ork
Space Marines w/ Imperial Guard

Where you may find yourself short is on the "generic" cards.
Rouge Trader & Void Pirate specifically.

You get 2 in each starter, and it's not uncommon to see decks run up to 3 copies.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot! I will still get 2 Core sets first, but I think I will get a third set as well. As for decks, I was thinking about making pure faction decks but it seems like it's better to mix two factions together instead. Are there many options for deck-building in this game? One thing I'm worry about is that the pool of cards aren't big enough to see variety in the decks we can construct competitively.

Can anyone tell me what a Counter is? I found this keyword in the Virtual sets but I can't find its definition.

Correct. There are only the 4 War Packs at this point.
Zogwart's Curse just released this week.

There are two more in the War Lord Cycle, that will be released in I think April and May
Then there will be "The Great Devourer" Mega expansion in probably June, where the Tyranids will be playable.

Folks are already excited for it.

That sounds great. I was actually contemplating between 3 LGC (Star Wars, GOT, and WH40K), since I'm a fan of all of them (LOTR too, but I decided that I didn't like the mechanics after reading about it). My brother and I decided to give Conquest a try because we have never played a WH40K card game before, and this seems to nail the intergalactic warfare between the factions very well. I just discovered that a hobby shop near where I live will have holding a tournament at the end of this month, so it's great to see people actually playing this game. As a guy who had played my fair share of CCGs in the past (MTG, L5R, Star Wars CCG, Shadowfist, Babylon 5, Raw Deal, etc), it's encouraging to see some support because aside from MTG, most of the card games I play didn't receive as much attention as they deserved.

Thanks! So I need to buy 3 Core sets plus expansions? Also, I live in LA and I'm wondering where I can find players.

LA as in Los Angeles, CA?

VC

Yes, Los Angeles.
