Post by: Whitescorpion on November 22, 2007, 02:04:19 PM
It would be Ok to get scans of the cards in this section?

Not sure of the legality, but WAY too much server space needed.

Actually if someone wants to scan all the images, yes, it would be possible. With the server space we currently have, yes, it's doable.

You could always host them off-site somewhere like Flickr anyways if you didn't have the space; that way, if there's a hard crash, you can recover quickly and it would simply just be hotlinks.

Because it's phone number is marked as private.

That's because it's calling from SS3's cell phone.

I'm guessing it's because of SS2 not having an 'official' spoiler list. They just listed which cards were in the set, but didn't actually have a spoiler with the updated text on it posted.

I see. It's probably just that brian missed it or something like that. If CI website do have the list of SS2 cards, there shouldn't be any problem.

How much longer will the CI website exist?  That could be problematic for anyone looking for the list after that point.

As well as, if possible, cards that reference that character?

Anyone know where I can find the Revo 3 TK listing at? I'm working on an update to the Velocity Format banned list, which will be basically the same except for the following additions:
adding LAiSE
adding a few Revo specifics (depending on current erratta issued by Creed)
*** after reviewing the R3 TK stuff, possibly adding things from it. (I just don't feel anything from the Revo 1 & 2 TKs are really broken... but correct me if I'm wrong

If anyone could help me get this info, I'll be eternally (read: for about 5 minutes) grateful...

If you are referring to the cards printed by comic images, that answer would be no.
Copyright issues.

ALL of the " 'new/old' staple rares " are Throwbacks, making them completely new cards.

Throwbacks of other cards are being looked into and taken into consideration on a case-to-case basis.  Throwbacks of some hard-to-get rares is being looked into right now.  Commons and Uncommons, consideration is being given for possibly a future set.  But nothing is set in stone.

They do, which is why I consulted a professor with multiple degrees, familiar with copyright law and such.  ;)

But taking an image of a card printed by Comic Images and sold for money, and posting them online?  That IS a violation of copyright law.  That's why if you have scans of Raw Deal cards and take them to Kinko's or whatever, they won't print them.  But when you show the text at the bottom of the Virtual cards, its legal and they will print those.

Please don't guess or bother with opinions on this, none of it matters.  Its an issue of LAW, not opinion, lol.

Short answer: no, nobody's putting scans of Raw Deal cards up in .pdf form, sorry.  For all his effort and money, Antigoth should not get sued.

If it is the exact same card, yes, absolutely.  You can't empty a bottle of Coca Cola into a bottle of Mom and Pop's Pop and sell it as original.  That's the quickest way to have Coke's lawyers knocking on your door.  In Raw Deal, notice in the Virtual sets that when Chris Masters was released as the exact same superstar with a new picture, there were some potential legal issues there, but when we threw him back and added a line of text, it was no longer an issue.

It's a real shame that the updated RD db doesn't work with 64-bit Win7 .NET systems. All those cards are in the updated db.  ;)

But yeah, superradjoe is correct. The threads are long, but you can also copy and paste them as needed into a Word doc for quick and easy offline reference that way.

Title: Cleaning it up
Post by: CreedP on March 17, 2014, 09:08:46 PM
This section has been bugging me for quite a while now.  I want to clean it up, make it neat and tidy.  For one thing, I'm going to use my free time at work - where I can't access TCO, but I CAN access my personal email, where I've stashed all of the Raw Deal set lists - to start creating full-text Superstar Guides.  These would have formatted text for each Superstar-specific card that can be packed, streamlined, Classic, Revolution, and Virtual combined.

(That's the only part I'm still debating, is whether to keep Classic and Revo separate, and I suspect I will.)

Also, I propose taking everything that isn't a card list topic, and consolidating them into ONE topic called 'Comments/Questions', so there's a lot less likelihood to have to scroll past non-informational questions and comments threads to get to the information.  :)

In additional, as I have time, I want to clean up some of the formatting for each set.  I'll repost in each one when it's done, so they will reset into the correct order, from most recent to oldest.

Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas?

Title: Re: Cleaning it up

For the Superstar Guides, if a superstar has a specific interaction with a card (Big Boss Man getting benefits to playing Handcuffed, Daniel Bryan getting to pack The NXT Breakout Star, or Randy Orton treating Ego Boost and European Uppercut as Set-ups), would it be possible to include the text of those cards with the superstar's set, so we can see what cards they get to take special advantage of? Clearly, this wouldn't make sense for, say, Beth Phoenix to have all the Multis listed, but for a superstar who benefits from one or two specific cards, it might help to see them with the set.

Listing the referenced cards would be useful. But only if that card wasn't mentioned in that particular superstar's ability or specific cards. For example, listing "I walk alone" for Batista is ok, but listing "360 degree clothesline" for DDP is not necessary. It will save a lot of time and we can see what we are missing if we only looked at the superstar specifics.

Sure, that could work.

Also, I feel silly as I thought the Superstar Guides were IN this topic, but they have their own.  So that's really a conversation for the other thread, heh.

Still, Revo cards are finally posted in full, all the chatty/ask-y threads are combined (I cut a couple 'Where's the list for X?' topics that don't matter now, because there's an X topic, lol), so it should be MUCH easier to use now.

The rest of the renovations will be minor, but I'll get to 'em.  ;)

Just an update from the other thread.. from now on, any questions or suggestions will be merged into this thread if posted separately.  This way we can make the sets easier to see when opening this section.
