1.)  How viable is this superstar?

Borderline broken! You need something done JBL is your guy. He's truly a jack ofall trades.

2.)  Is there a Superstar Specific Card that you'd like to spotlight?  There is actually 3 of them I'd like to explain. Up first...

JBL's Limo
Pre-match Object
You may play this card during any Pre-match phase.
Search your Arsenal for 2 cards that are not common, uncommon, or Superstar-specific; reveal them to your opponent; put them under this card; and shuffle your Arsenal.
You may play those cards as if they were in your hand.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent
ARM

This is probably the BEST search card in the game. You need anything that's rare or unique the limo delivers it to you. Popular cards searched

Don't Try This at Home
Don't Be a Douchebag
A Revolution of the Mind
Two Time- Two Time
"John P" actions Dirty Taker, A Few Heel Men  (can't be reversed when you're JBL)
Husssss
<R> Double Your Value

There are ENDLESS possibilities to search with him. They stay neatly protected under the Limo. Playable on any turn!

Up next

Backed by The Cabinet
Backstage Card
When this card is revealed or in your Ring, your Drawing a Blank is considered Superstar-specific, and before each of your Draw Segments, you may either discard 1 card or overturn 1 card, and then your Ability is blank until the start of your next turn. (This effect cannot be reversed.)
During your turn you may put this card from your Backstage Area into your Ring, and then put Orlando Jordan: Chief of Staff from your Ringside into your Ring.

So JBL wants to have a blank ability to avoid discarding needed cards. This little number here does the trick. Then allows you to fully utilize Drawing a Blank. JBL can endless cycle back key red cards making him incredibly difficult to pin.

Lastly

Orlando Jordan: Chief of Staff
Pre-match Manager
When this card is in your Ring area, if your opponent reverses a card from his hand or Backlash deck, you may put this card into your Ringside pile and then put the reversed card into your hand instead of your Ringside pile.
When this card is in your Ringside pile, during your turn you may allow your opponent to draw 3 cards and then put this card into your Ring area.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique

So...yeah...there's this. JBL can spam back anything that's not successful. Making him the ideal "John P" deck of choice. Precision Haymaker, Atomic Lariat, German Suplex TB, Clothesline From Hell all back until you take it. He really abuses the card Precision Haymaker. He can just force 22D at you or between the draw effect of Haymaker and Orlando just deck you out.

3.)  How have you built said superstar?  How did it work out?
I've build him on many of occasion. My build has only lost once.  That was to Mitch's Nidia deck at Gen Con.

4.)  How well does the Superstar fare in whichever format you built them in be it VC/VAA/NXT/VR/Non-Virtual

He is top 5 of any format he can be played in. He has every tool known to  man to make stuff happen. JBL is as close to perfection as you can want.

5.)  Final Thoughts on this Superstar?

Definitely one of the best decks in this game. He can abuse almost any type of build.
He's ALWAYS a threat to show up at Gen Con.

AND

6.) Since this Superstar is a Legacy one (in that he was in the game before Virtual) can you elaborate a little on how Virtual has changed this Superstar?

He's like a fine wine. He only gets stronger each set. Virtual was VERY generous to him. They amount of unique cards that's been pumped out makes the Limo better and better.

1.)  How viable is this superstar?
He's strong...a 12/3 with no drawback and a chance to easily blank your ability and abuse DaB...yeah that's a good starting point, but he can do anything else you want to run from there....

2.)  Is there a Superstar Specific Card that you'd like to spotlight?

JBL's Limo
Pre-match Object
You may play this card during any Pre-match phase.
Search your Arsenal for 2 cards that are not common, uncommon, or Superstar-specific; reveal them to your opponent; put them under this card; and shuffle your Arsenal.

This card can win you games in nXt by itself....get the key starting/stop opponent card or cards you need and go to town....pretty much....

3.)  How have you built said superstar?  How did it work out?

I built him "lazy BASH" in nXt, just wanted to see how good he was in the format....he's pretty strong, should have done better but some pilot errors cost me....I might try it again someday....

4.)  How well does the Superstar fare in whichever format you built them in be it VC/VAA/NXT/VR/Non-Virtual

He's good in any legal format you can play him in....big hand, easy search, add in luck is for losers for overkill and away ya go....not to mention you can disrupt their hand with AIUU and then squash a big chain/volley move of theirs too....many tools in his box....

5.)  Final Thoughts on this Superstar?

A good "get back into the game" deck too since you don't count on a lot of moving parts and can cycle till the cows come home....but with a good pilot and reps....very dangerous....especi ally when you know what to search for....

AND

6.) Since this Superstar is a Legacy one (in that he was in the game before Virtual) can you elaborate a little on how Virtual has changed this Superstar?

All the Uniques in Virtual....oiii...b ut also the ability to blank his ability is VERY good too....he's still as flexible as it gets in Raw Deal

1.) How viable is this superstar?
Do we really need to ask this question with JBL? Lets just start with Basics on him SHS: 12 with a blank ability with no draw backs to his hand.  if he packs AIUU he is still at a 12 to discard down to.  Also lets look at his card support, JBL Limo, Ten Gallon Hat, and Backed by the Cabinet to begin with which is essential to any deck. Which leads into the next segement

2.) Is there a Superstar Specific Card that you'd like to spotlight?
There are a couple of the cards of his that I would like to personally spotlight and go into detail about for his support.
1.) JBL's Limo
Pre-match Object
You may play this card during any Pre-match phase.
Search your Arsenal for 2 cards that are not common, uncommon, or Superstar-specific; reveal them to your opponent; put them under this card; and shuffle your Arsenal.
You may play those cards as if they were in your hand.
F: 0 D: 0 Unique Permanent
ARM

This card alone can make the match even more difficult on the opponent that JBL is facing.  JBL alone can search out any two reversals that he sees fit to be able to combine with his 12 card hand size.  So essentially with a 14 card hand size to play with at his disposal just sitting there. Basic set up for him is play any allegiance which is more than likely the NWO cause why not, then drop limo as a venue then if you wish drop Tech in bottle to search out another card to have in case things happen. Then of course the card that makes him Tick, Drawing a Blank.  Which leads me into the next card that NEEDS TO BE DISCUSSED.

Unique RMS logo
V7

Drawing a Blank
Pre-match Event
Cannot be packed by Cryme Tyme, MVP, or Stevie Richards. Cannot be blanked, and no other card can gain this text.
Your cards with 'psychology' in the title are blank.
During your turn, when you have equal or lower Fortitude and your first card played from hand is a non-BASH non-multi non-Revolution maneuver with blank text, it cannot be reversed by non-Unique reversals from hand or Ringside.
Before your Draw Segment when your Ability is blank, choose one: draw 1 card if you have less than 10 cards in hand, or put up to 1 card from your Ringside on the bottom of your Arsenal.
F: 0 D: 0 Unique Permanent
Drawing a blank allows him to recover every turn or draw an additional card every turn. So with JBL Chain in classic doesnt hurt him as much as the normal superstar plus he will keep his hand under 10 to make sure he draws every turn.  Plus he is allowed to blank his ability with his backstage card. So every turn he is overturning 2 to blank ability which essentially turns into him overturning 1 since he is allowed to recover one.  In my opinion, how many ppl are allowed to search for 3 cards in the beginning and be able to recover and be able to keep a high hand against a chain deck in classic more of less.  The answer to that is slim to none.  Drawing a blank is what makes his deck basically be able to own every deck.  10 cards in hand every turn and if he has more he just reovers 1.

Ten Gallon Hat
Backstage Area: Foreign Object
Can only be revealed from your Backstage Area when you reveal your Superstar card.
During your turn you may hide this card and then put 1 card from your Ringside pile into your hand.
Unique
ARM

What more can be said about this card other than that if he doesnt have a move he can just pick one up which is very unlikely event that he will not have one but it can happen.  However he can also take damage and if he turns over his TMF then he can just hide the hat and be able to pick it up and be able to play OSWM (TB) and make sure he is able to throw it as reversal and end the game.  In my eyes this card alone is game clincher in the end.

3.) How have you built said superstar? How did it work out?
I have built him only once or twice and I feel that it was a success.  At first before the virtual era I mainly stuck with Chains and widdled the hand down while drawing for rares and Uniques.  But even then he was made into someone who needed fixed during the normal era.  Virtual only heightened that instinct.  As you can see with the description of the cards to be discussed.

4.) How well does the Superstar fare in whichever format you built them in be it VC/VAA/NXT/VR/Non-Virtual
In reality it doesn't matter what format JBL is built for he is a force to be reckoned with. His hand size is no joke plus the fact that he searches out everything that he needs to get going in the first couple of turns.  His prematch is pretty simple and set up.  He will want to keep recovering and keep drawing to make sure he always stays ahead of you and being able to abuse ego boost.

5.) Final Thoughts on this Superstar?
The final thought is in my eyes he needs to be fixed again, Im sorry a guy with no ability and a SHS that high that is still being able to reck everything is still a problem.  But I am not expert on these things. Just the constant staying ahead would be something that is too much for one to be able to contend with.

1.)  How viable is this superstar?

I've found JBL to be highly viable way before Virtual. He's definitely a top guy.

2.)  Is there a Superstar Specific Card that you'd like to spotlight?

Yes, There is two I'd like to Spotlight actually.

First....
Unique     RMS logo
V7

This in my opinion made him too good. A guy with JBL's tools didn't need a way to recycle key reversals. He was a top guy way before this.

Second...
UNF

This is a great card for many reasons. Any card that doesn't get played successfully can bounce back. There is the risk of Don't Try This at Home.  Which your backstage card allows that to come back at least once for free.

3.)  How have you built said superstar?  How did it work out?

Yeah, I've always been in the game or won the game. Note* this was also pre virtual as well.

4.)  How well does the Superstar fare in whichever format you built them in be it VC/VAA/NXT/VR/Non-Virtual

He's a top tier guy in all legal formats. It is very hard to build him a bad way. He's just that powerful.

5.)  Final Thoughts on this Superstar?

He's a fantastic deck to play with. Works with all experience levels of players.

AND

6.) Since this Superstar is a Legacy one (in that he was in the game before Virtual) can you elaborate a little on how Virtual has changed this Superstar?

Due to all the uniques in our virtual era he has so many options to be exploited. Mainly the abuse of Drawing a Blank.
